I remember when Shane Kim had this big announcement, which turned out to be the announcement of RE5 on the 360 while the rest of the world knew this had been announced two years ago already! :|
Needless to say, I'll be awaiting this 'special announcement' with some modest scepticism.
Fair enough.
All the links are linking right back to this page!?!
Just the heli's is fine by me.
*drools*
Just a suggestion. It seems Gearbox is having plenty on their hand with BIA:HH (you know, that game that refuses to meet several target release dates).
It's implying a newly released trailer including new footage which is not the case. This is just getting people's hopes up for nothing.
Think before you post!
Though if GTA IV turns out to be what I hope for, it will probably have to settle for 2nd place. ;)
But yeah, bring it on Bethesda!
Remember the Two-worlds Mo-cap video? And I'm sure you've seen the end results ingame? The animations will most likely be 'dumbed-down' for the engine to handle. Especially the animation transitions will suffer from this. It's just the way it is unfortunately.
This means nothing. Show this in actual gameplay and I'll be satisfied.
I'd find that a lot more interesting than these tech-demos. Though, atleast they're showing something.
But tech-demos are not necessarily representative of how the game will actually look/animate/be like.
Just because they added a HUD to make it seem like it's ingame, doesn't mean it actually is ingame.
It's a trick they pulled off to fool people like yourself. But whatever, you'll find out for yourself when they show the actual gameplay footage.
Nope! All CGI.
Thanks for just proving my point about believing CGI footage being ingame and perfectly displaying the concept of hype though. ;)
And I would definitely lower your expectations if you thought that trailer showed was any indication of what the game will actually look like, and more importantly: Will actually animate like.
That was so obviously CGI, it isn't even funny anymore. But, people buy it and actually believe that was ingame. It was a CGI trailer made for a single purpose, which is: Creating HYPE. And it worked!
If it releases just a month later, then it won't contain any additional content over the 360/pc versions. Atleast, not due to the extra month of development.
I think it's pretty obvious why it'll release later for the PS3 version, this being their first title on the 'next-gen' consoles. We all know the 360 has a slight edge in terms of development adaptment for multi-platform games.
A month isn't that big of a deal though, as long as it offers atleast equal quali...
But that was to be expected really. Though, if this is true:
"such things as ambient filters (lighting, shading, etc) and anti aliasing (smoothing of edges on objects and models) has not been added. Although rest assured, Tim confirmed with us that the game will have both when shown later this year."
Then that certainly would help quite a bit indeed.
It doesn't look bad for a sandbox game by all means, but at this point, it misses the be...
I'm not hugely anticipating this title, but I'll definitely ckeck it out.
I'm more of a Splinter Cell fan myself and I wasn't all that charmed by the footage I've seen so far of this game, but I'll give the demo a chance before I completely dismiss this game.
Peter Molyneux is a very passionate and dedicated developer. And he's an even better presenter.
He really tries to make something unique and really puts thought into what he wants to achieve with his games. Unfortunately, this doesn't always work out quite as hoped.
I hope he can really pull it off this time. Not too say that Fable 1 was bad though, far from it actually. I for one loved it!
Seriously.
It had a seperate Co-op campaign, but it wasn't all that great compared to the SP campaign, so let's hope Resistance 2 doesn't follow suit in that regard.
That's all I can say, and that doesn't happen that often.
Ok, I could say the animations are a bit meh and the character design is lame, but that doesn't overshadow the awesome gameplay possibilities this game provides and the amazing lighting engine it has!
Can't wait for this game!
