@XD
We know that both consoles will use more of the hardware as time goes by (except extreme fanboys). But people were saying that the optimisation of the X1 will close the gap but the truth is both consoles will improve over time making it harder for MS to close the gap.
The cLoud couLd make a difference but it's unknown what it's capable of. Will be interesting to see though.
KZ3 was awesome to play online and real fun. My only gripe is the lack of weapons and mods.
Even thought the other 4 games mentioned above are all shooters, they ALL play differently and ALL offer different experiences. We should just be glad that we get these different shooters to play.
@XB1_PS4
It works for steam but all the digital content (which can't be sold) on the PS3 and 360 right now is sky high. You pay more for it than a physical copy.
I'm not sure why they sell it for a higher price but it's probably not to piss off the retailers that sell their consoles for them. Total guess. I understand that retailers make very little on consoles and make more off of software. To be undercut by the Sony/MS on the software will give...
@Casual.
The software laws are on absolutly everything and has been for a very long time.
And the other law is to protect us users. These sort of laws are common pratice and people with a lack of understanding of terms and conditions shouldn't try and blow it out of proportion.
Edit: @Casual (Second reply) Nice to see a N4Ger take in counter arguments.
Game looks nice. They seem to have sorted out the framerate problems.
Looks like mindless fun.
I know what Mosiac is saying. When I get games off of publishers to review, you feel bad to give a poor score especially if the PR team are nice and awesome. I never cave in to that and always score fairly but others may not, even more so when they get special invites, OTT review packages or their site is advertising that publisher.
Why do people downplay the difference between 1080p and 720p. It's clear that the PS4 has a lot more power than the X1. At the moment the extra power is used to produce more pixels, that same spare power could be used in difference areas.
Say if a developer decides to make the game 720p and use that extra power instead for things like for more characters on screen, better particle effects etc.
My point is that while the extra power is being used for some...
I don't like the idea of paying for the electric to run 2 consoles just to get an extra HDMI port.
Actually not sure I can afford 2 console lol.
@Warrick,
While I agree with you on some points, the whole slant of your post is biased towards Xbox.
The power difference to output 720p and 1080p (0r 720p and 900p for some games). that 50%+ more pixels on screen. Even the PS4 version of BF4 runs with ambient occlusion (according to DF take a lot of graphical power to run). They have said that the X1 version will have this but since the X1 version already is struggling with a lower resolution and has a poor...
People want the better console and these downplaying/jusifying articles are getting to much. Ps4 is more powerful and it matters. What also matter is online. Xbox has dedicad servers out of the box and live is proven quality. Sony have hopefully invested in the psn otherwise they will be playing catch up. Both will he getting great games but Sony have proven quality in that area. Weigh up what's best for you.
It's in-game but gameplay won't look like this.
Gameplay will have to use a lot of power for AI etc.
Example is photo mode in GT5 that looks more realistic and is in-game.
Same with KZ3 with awesome in-game cut scenes but gameplay graphics are lower. It's common pratice in a lot of games.
Mind you those in-game cutscenes are the best I've seen on console to date.
I think it's not about games hitting 1080p but more about Sony fans trying to prove the PS4 is vastly more powerful while MS fanboys are trying to prove it's just as powerful.
It's going to go on for a while, even after launch.
@Nuke
A simple Google search highlights a lot of problems as an indie developer on Xbox. http://www.gamasutra.com/bl...
Not checked anything on PlayStation but knew there was more to developing on xbox than "it's super cheap to develop for".
Quote from link - "For people that may not be familiar with the game industry, getting a “real” ga...
If the update will disable DRM then all the data files will still be on the launch console for somebody to expose. If they planned DRM it will come out. I'd be surprised id anybody finds anything.
Also if they did plan DRM like MS, I thought that you could use the console without being online and without the update. Can somebody confirm/debunk this? If it can then we already have the answer to if the day one update disables DRM.
@Pester you are so wrong. Reasons incoming.
The images are not great, would of been great if they were bigger. Anyway;
Bloom overdone in old build, correct - 1 points to New buid
Reflections are less flat? Not sure what you mean but reflections are clearer in new build. 2 points to new build.
Smoke trails looks different on both but its a matter of taste. New build trail looks less faded and sharper but the faded less sharp ...
Casuals will jump on the consoles with the lowest price. The only thing that will sway the mass casual audience is the huge advertising campaigne that MS will most likely have (bigger than Sony for sure)
This could even itself out with similar sales on both platforms in NA. Rest of the world will be Sony.
On the leaked Ryse single player footage you could see a lot of screen tearing. Will update with link when I find it.
@Andrew. That picture isn't that impressive.
I'm surprised the PS4 will have to wait to get this. Sony detailed it first at their launch event. Plus they have it working pretty sweet on Vita.
Hopefully it will come sooner rather than later.
Btw Albert is turning into the new Shuhei. He gives out a lot of info and gets involved with the community. He goes a little "PR" sometimes but he's alright.
I think he said the wrong word. He had to say "Home Screen" but he was saying "Home". Other than that it was very slick.
