@Admiral
You're right about the comparison but a better one would be movies. Movies are multi-million projects like games are available to rent and/or stream straight after release.
The fact is easier availabilty and the instant nature will encourage gamers to spend more and try out more games.
We also do not know the pricing for single rentals or monthly subs so we can't comment on how much a publisher will get.
EA would of surely covered their ass. I wouldn't be surprised if the game has to sell a certain amount to remain exclusive to the X1 (or some other clause). If it doesn't then it can release on other platforms. This is why MS have been pushing the game.
Does the author realise that they aren't going to put up the entire Playstation Now library for beta testing? Written like they don't.
I see where you're coming from Limey.
I agree with xtra. You're comparing apples and oranges. Snapping TV and a game to the same screen isn't anything like remote play. A vague comparison, yes, but the 2 shouldn't be compared.
The point is that the PS4 has a lot more grunt to to run at an higher res and framerate. It might make little difference when using that extra power on the framerate and res but when the devs use the extra power in other areas - particle effects, higer res textures, etc - that's when we will see the benefit of the extra power.
@George - Ryse - Not many devs are prepared to dilute the gameplay down just to get better visuals. It was a cheap shot way for MS to boast better ...
The bigger question is... WHO IS STILL BUYING THE PSP???
@Ballseye
Ryse had to sacrifice a lot to get it to look good. Why do you think it plays so bad???
@Trufan
But you also forget that the X1 beat the PS4 in December because Sony released in more countries but that doesnt stop X1 fans claiming a victory.
If Sony released in just the same countries as MS then they would have sold those consoles in the US anyway. Point is the demand is there for the PS4 no matter how many countries it's released in.
@Nerd. Wow! So because they are both black and both have disc draw on the same side, they are the same?
I've never seen a device, let alone a VCR, the same shape as the PS4. The light strip across the middle, the deep groove around the edge, the buttons, the concealed disc slot and usb ports and the overal shape are thing the X1 doesn't have.
BTW this is a post that says that one is better than the other but a post to say that they are 2 completely ...
I think you're getting a little confused and simplifying the argument when you shouldn't.
It's not about having TV on consoles, let me explain.
The majority of "PS Fanboys" that had an issue with the X1 was for concentrating on TV and non-gaming things on it. To the extent that it compromised it's hardware and resources to cater for it.
This is the real arguments, Sony used more of it's hardware and resources t...
If you look at the shadows on the one linked by sackboy, they look weird and looks like it could be artwork. The Pictures linked by imt look much better and I hope this is the real ingame screen shot. Everything looks better including the NPCs. Or one could be ingame cutscene and one could be ingame.
@lopez
Actually Sony develops and publish games. They own quite a few developing studios. Guerilla, Naughty Dog, Santa Monico, Sucker Punch etc are all under Sony.
It's kind of a bullying tactic. They are bigger than indies so they must do whatever they want.
I'm surprised it hasn't backfired on them yet.
Micro transactions are just ways to get more money from gamers. The problem is when publishers take things out of the game so the can make DLC packs. I hate when the DLC pack are already on the disk but you have to pay to unlock them.
DLC packs should be on the scale of GTA4 episodes. Or something that developers have spent time and money doing.
You can't pick up an X1 in the UK right now and I think it's pretty hard to find one in the US. X1 is selling fine in its 2 main territories
"Others may not be happy, but I was expecting worse. Especially, from this supposed "news" site just before launch where every article seemed to think the X1 was in shambles."

The writer, Jim, is actually an Xbox fan. He doesn't even own a PS3/4 or Nintendo or gaming PC. If somebody writes a slightly negative article about a console it doesn't mean that they are a troll or fanboy.
@Dehnus, Nintendo have gone for casual gamers if you like it or not. That's simply not saying there isn't hardcore games on the Wii/WiiU but the vast majority are on the Playstation on Xbox. If they are on the Wii/WiiU then it's usually a gimped version of what you can get on the "other consoles".
Also the controllers are built for hardcore gamers on the Playstation and Xbox plus the UI and stores are lightyears ahead of anything that Nintendo can do. <...
This game is not the enemy. If you want to start a campaign about something you should look elsewhere. Battlefield 4 and COD having premium ad ons for £40. Free to play games with stipid amount of prices to get add ons to be competitive. In game credit that can be bought is becoming a popular theme. Game by EA are the main culprits. Games that ship with less so they can sell you the DLC to get the full game. Some cases the DLC is already on the disc.
As an whole we supp...
