The recent figures are actually not that concerning. They are the same sort of figures that Sony produced for April with the PS3. The PS3 did have better Aprils from 2010 onwards but every year since the PS3 launched it sold over 10M.
@Geobros, Actually it's selling very well. April-August are the lowest selling months. September will see sales double and November and December you can expect between 400k -1M a week as it reaches its peak around Christmas. Jan, Feb and March will see it slow down before reaching the slowest months again.
So judging it by one of the slowest console selling months is silly.

@ Steve,
Theres a few questions I have for you. Some driving footage I've seen looks slightly better than GT5 graphics with superior AI and other footage (like the one shown) looks far better than any racing game out there. Are some modes we are seeing similar to photo mode on GT and/or replay mode (with improved graphics).
I ask this because GT and Forza both used photo modes shot and replay mode footage to showcase their games.
Still intereste...
I'm just saying what I see. I have no reason to hate on a multiplat game (and personally not an exclusive game either although I still do have opinions). Let's not forget that I also judging from youtube vids.
This game does a lot of things right like I mentioned and because I mentioned blurry texture, which I saw on bank sides and rocks that lined the track (the cars and damges look awesome)' I'm not in any way saying this game will not be great.
I agree. Not sure if this vid shows off the game that well but it looks like GT5 on the PS3. Maybe that's a good thing.
The reflection on the windscreen also looks like it's static and stuck on. Not even sure if you would get a reflection like that in dull conditions. On Forza 5 and Driveclub the reflection brightens, dulls and disappears on any given lap depending on the lighting conditions at that time. Again it could be because the lighting even with overcast cloud...
Journey is 1st party but I think that the 3 games made by thatgamecompany for PS3 were under the wing of Santa Monica Studios.
Do you think that all reviewers should have the responsibility to review more objectively? I mean he is entitled to add his opinions within the review but score it objectively. At the end of the day it shouldn't be all about if he/she should get the game but more about if the reader should get the game.
Having played the game it isn't a 6/10 without looking into the subjective side of it. Graphics, animations and gameplay are all high quality.
We understand that reviews are opinions but a 6/10 isn't fair. Game is way to polished to get a low score. Cutscenes, story, animations, gameplay, graphics are all very high.
Being a very picky gamer, I rarely finish games but I've completed this game and doing it again but this time with bad karma. A good reviewer would have his opinions but alos look at it from a objective pov.
Looks like the reviewer wanted to hate the game before he played it.
Delsin is a very likable character. I didn't expect that with the pre launch trailers making him look like a dooch.
A million times more interesting than dull Cole of 1&2.
@Doomz
The PS4 and camera being bundled was a rumour. Removing the camera to compete with MS is also a rumour.
Realistically Sony would of set a price range target a long time ago when they started to plan the console (They need to know how much they can spend on componants to make the console and keep it within the price range). Sony would of planned that they wanto to retail the console for around $400. Now if they did remove the camera it would because it...
I get how it works but the point is it still has to provide 2 sets of images (one for each eye) and does so effectively. The only difference is that the sterioscopic 3d alternates the 2 3d images and altenates the shut off between the left and right eye on the glasses to create the 3d image (like you said). VR still has to provide 2 images like the sterioscopic 3d.
Having said that, grapical quality will take a hit to give you VR (like sterioscopic had to reduce the graphica...
@Sorane
VR takes up no more resources than current 3D on PS3 (It projects 2 different screens to cretae a 3D image). If PS3 can handle, what makes you think the PS4 cant?
Even if it has slightly downgraded visuals it could retify that with the headtsetset carring a chip to replace the extra power needed.
Either way it is very possible. Games on PS3 could handle 3D, then I'm sure the PS4 could handle VR with similar results.
A lot of people venting a lot of anger towards Sony just because of this? Really?
People still miss the fact that the single player is 1080p and the technique is only employed in multiplayer to improve responsiveness in multiplayer.
It's kind of crazy that fans of other consoles have been waiting for the first bit of negativity that they don't realise that this isn't a big issue. It's still unscaled 1080p with the PS4 using its hardware to us...
@edonus
The resolution argument thing has lost its way. The point that the PS4 can handle 1080p while the X1 struggles shows a big power difference.
The original argument was to prove the PS4 had more power now as changed to an heavy focus and numerous comparison trying to show that there isn't much difference between the 2 resolution.
While this is kind of true, imagine what the extra power can be used for instead of better res. Better and more c...
Just a wild theory.
EA have probably a clause with MS that Titanfall will have to sell a certain amount to stay exclusive (to protect EAs investment incase it bombs on the X1). MS might have projected that Titanfall might not meet its target to stay exclusive so they found a way to boost sales of Titanfall by giving it away with a pricecut X1.
So you're generalising that all corps are evil and only care about money. While it's true they are a business and want to make money, what holds weight is how you go about making that money. Some companies have a different mindset like "What is the best way to get money out of the consumer" while others have a more human mindset like "What value can we give the consumer in return for their money".
@trufan
First of all lets not get confused with 3rd party games that have been bought out by MS.
Secondly, PD-Gran Turismo SP-Infamous SM-God of War ES- Drive club, motorstorm GG - Kilzone MM - Litlebigplanet JS Gravity Rush (PSN games like rain and Tokyo Jungle) ND - Uncharted and the last of us RAD (not strictly 1st party) The order. QD (not first party again but makes Sony owned games) Heavy Rain, Beyond.
Anybody feel free to add if I missed any m...
trufan I think you're twisting what people think about Sony. Nobody believes that Sony runs the PS division for love not money. What people do believe is that Microsoft is a company that will try and find has many ways to nickle and dime you. They want the to get their hands in has many pots has possible, use their money to monopolise the market (well to the extent permitted by law) and then charge what the hell they want becuase they can.
They have a mindset that they wa...
