I think that Sony have been messing around a round with virtual reality for a long time. If the tech can get cheap enough we might see it come to consoles

Not sure about the part where they mention that both companies took a "if it aint broke, don't fix it" approach. Both controllers have seen drastic changes and a lot of improvements judging by the hands on I've read.

I'm still waiting for a true and proper hardware comparison by tech minded people. Is there any that somebody could link me to?

I must admit I got this for free on PS Plus and was instantly hooked.

It was surprisingly a great game and I will be buying the second one... not sure if they can beat the original theme tune though lol.

@Death
Without trying to sound to much like a fanboy, if you say that Kinect equals to a PSEye and a DS4 because it has better tech then why haven't you factored the fact that the PS4 packs better tech than the X1?

So by your logic the PS4 is more powerful and should equal to the X1 and Kinect combined. Thus making the PS4 package a real good deal because you cant use the kinect to cancel out the DS4 and PSEye in the PS4 bundle.

I think both conso...

Isn't the price drop already happening? I'm sure it went cheaper on places like Amazon straight after GamesCom.

Just read this
"We are requesting the commission to grant short

This is why the FCC results aren't common knowledge. Plus November 21st looks like the planned release date.

@Nuke

They haven't invested billions into a cloud service just for xbox one to use.

Cloud can be used for multiple things other than gaming. I guess they can provide a service for other companies to use (gaming or non-gaming).

Cloud is big and getting bigger and MS are investing a lot of time and money into a direction that tech is going.

Controller looks awesome. Love the rumble in the triggers.

I would like to say that a lot of fine games have come from the indie scene. Limbo, Braid and Bastion are just a few example of great games that got a lot ot attention, even more so when they were on xbox live and not PSN.

A lot of great games come from the indie scene and it's pretty silly to downplay that.

MS is setting up a pretty big cloud network but it wasn't made for the X1. There is a lot of money in cloud services and MS have built the cloud service to make money not soley for the X1.

If Sony can't make a huge Cloud based network, it doesn't mean they can't get access to one... at a cost of course. Use of the cloud from other providers isn't out of the question is Sony need to. The question is will they need to?

MS would of not been happy with them. AMD do not want to piss off MS because at the end of the day they are business partners.

Although the AMD statement is probably true it wasn't a great dicision to make the MS's greatest rival more powerful. Since AMD are in a contract with MS & Sony and are being paid millions by MS and Sony they pretty much have to do keep quiet on any comparisons.

I think 14Feb is talking about that Sony Worldwide Studios have 30 games in development for the PS4, 20 released in first year and 12 are new IPs. It was announced at E3 by Shu.

These 30 game in development aren't from indies, 2nd party studios or exclusives/timed exclusives from 3rd party developers. They are just from Sony's Worldwide studios.

Lets not forget that Sony have a huge amount of studios developing for them and a lot of th...

Personally I think MS will not spend money trying to get the Japanese market. They did it last gen and it didn't turn out great. They got a lot of JPRGs first and it had little to no impact other than a short boost durinf first week sales.

So far it seems the X1 is heavily US orientated and this was a conscious dicision by MS. We need to see solid plans for the EU yet. Japan seems to be low priority.

Dizzy was amazing. I think I had it for the Spectrum ZX. I played the emulated version on my laptop recently and found the controls fiddly. I knew it was hard back then but it seemed super hard.

Maybe we've been spoiled to much with great game mechanics over the years.

No publisher or developer will bite the hand that feeds them. If somebody that worked under Sony or Microsoft, third party included, bad mouthed either of them, Sony and Microsoft would call for their heads. It's not good business practice and you hardly see it happen.

@Blachek

You hit the nail on the head. Casuals will flock to the lower price.

Lower price mean more people will but it. More people buying could mean more profit from hardware, depends on what the profit/lose compared to the competition.

What it certainly will mean is that if more people buy your console, you will make more money on software and online subscriptions.

So even though they might make more money on each console ...
