Not even close, which is probably why you don't list all these great 1st party Nintendo games. Since 2017 (and it is important to point out that Nintendo didn't release a singe new 1st party game in 2016), new 1st party games have been BOTW, 1 2 Switch, Arms, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Super Mario Party, Super Mario Maker 2, and Animal Crossing. That is it. Studios that Nintendo owns have put out 10...
Nintendo put out a single new 1st party game in 2020 while Sony put out 5 new 1st party games in 2020 plus Astro's Playroom. Most of Nintendo's releases from the last few years have been forgettable 2nd party games and ports.
Taking the Epic bribe and screwing over the other platforms that built you up as a studio does have that effect. Most fanbases don't like it when developers treat them like crap.
"Moreover, developers themselves can leave in-game notes and walkthroughs for a “fee” if they wish."
I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Like we needed even more ways for games to be monetized.

The problem is that the Gamepad cost over double the price of the Wii U Pro controller and you couldn't use more than one per console. Does the Dualsense have either of those problems?
Controller gimmicks fall into 2 categories - useless but mostly harmless like the Dualshock 4 trackpad and completely detrimental to the success of a console like the Wii U's Gamepad. Not even Nintendo fans were willing to shell out for the gimmicky...
The Gamepad was an interesting concept that Nintendo themselves didn't even care to develop for. The thing that makes it a complete failure though is that the Gamepad is required in order for a Wii U to even function. Once your Gamepad dies, the console is useless and since they were never sold separately outside of Japan the total amount of working Wii U's are tied to the amount of working Gamepads.
The Gamepad was the best in third party games like Dues Ex: Huma...
Ask Shawn Layden about the nefariousness of Jim Ryan. Also, there is nothing "subconscious" about this - it is an ad that Sony deliberately put onto every PlayStation to promote the game of a company where they just invested $250 million. You act like they are some nonprofit out to make the world a better place and make jokes to justify their behavior.
That doesn't work though. I have none of the options Checked on the Automatic Downloads page yet I still get Fortnite and other ads downloaded to my PS4.
I sort of remember when I cared about this game, but that was years ago. I really enjoyed Transistor and Pyre and bought them both at launch on PS4. Supergiant Games then took the bribe from Epic and left all other platforms out in the cold for Hades.
I really cannot stand Jim Ryan and at least this interview explains why for the first time since I started gaming with Sony during the PS3 that there hasn't been any announced new IPs to look forward to. Businessman Jim seems to only care about profits, which is probably why he never talks about any games he enjoys.
If you are going to be in charge of Sony, at least know the history. "They cost more than $100m dollars to make these days and in order to be able...
@NotoriousWhiz
That list alone proves everything I said - thank you for that. Paper Mario and another Dynasty Warriors spinoff perfectly demonstrates that Nintendo really fell short in putting out first-party exclusives (especially since neither of them are even first-party games). Your list of 17 games only contains 6 games from 2020 (and that is including the late release of The Outer Worlds) - the rest are just ports of old games. 2020 has been barren for the Switch a...
Seems like someone is really excited for the port of Super Mario 3D World. No other first party Switch games have been announced yet this writer somehow thinks that 2021 is going to be a big year for Nintendo. I'm still waiting for all those unannounced exclusives the Switch was going to get in 2020 that fanboys brought up when people complained about the poor lineup this year.
We can thank gamers for that. Want to see some truly original Ubisoft games? Check out 2007 Assassin's Creed and 2008 Far Cry 2 which are pure gameplay experiences instead of safe, mindless collectathons. Want to guess which games of their franchises are crapped the most upon by gamers? Same 2 games. We spoke and Ubisoft listened.
I swear this is a duplicate story - https://n4g.com/news/139913...
Oh wait, that one was from 7 years ago and Microsoft just decided to launch XBox SeX with the same issue. My mistake.
"This is for the players - just not our existing ones."
Nice to see Sony closing out the generation with one last insult to PS4 PS+ subscribers. I still remember all the fanboys defending Sony's removal of PS3 and Vita games from PS+ because that would mean PS4 would get more than just 2 games a month. Instead we got 4 less games a month for the same price.
Bring on the downvotes fanboys, because who would really want to play PS4 games on ...
I see that they are finally bringing gear optimization to The Division 2, something all the Division 1 players whinged about constantly. D1 was a loot-shooter where the end game grind was not for gear but just the different currencies to optimize gear. It got old pretty quick and it was nice to see Division 2 move away from that and actually make loot meaningful.
You must be new to gaming since The Order: 1886 was ripped apart for being a $60 game with only 6 hours of content.
I guess being an XBox gamer will make you go grey quicker. j/k
Judging by the comment section there are a lot of gamers going grey early, which isn't a really good indication about our hobby. After all, gaming is supposed to be a stress reliever. I still stand by my opinion that having someone in their 30s with grey hair, glasses, and crow's feet is a really poor way to show the passage of time. Is the commercial about growing up or just growing old?
Do you have grey hair like the father in the video though? The guy in the video is really channeling Wolverine from Days of Future Past. I'm in my 40s and none of my friends with kids have anything close to that amount of grey hair. I'm sure it happens but in this video it just comes off as a really poor way of demonstrating the passage of time.
@Shiken
Basically you just listed a bunch of games not made by studios owned by Nintendo as first party games and then followed that up by saying that I listed Demon's Souls as a first party game which I did not.
Fire Emblem Three Houses - made by Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo; neither owned by Nintendo
Luigi's Mansion 3 - made by Next Level Games; not owned by Nintendo when released (deal will be finalized March 1,2021)
