Astro Bot wasn't for sale and the only other game you listed actually made by a Sony studio is Ratchet & Clank, which has been around since 2002. You are pretty much proving their point when you cannot name any new and diverse games being made by PlayStation game studios.
Playstation's success has never been about the big game that sells well though. Throughout Playstation's lifespan, the closest game that Sony got to being a system seller was Gran Tursimo. Sony has been consistently successful because they don't just chase the system sellers like Nintendo and Microsoft do. The 1 million people playing MLB The Show are more often people who bought a Playstation just to play MLB The Show. Same with games like Gravity Rush, LittleBigPlanet, and T...
@Lexreborn2
Nobody has said that there are next gen versions of Doom Eternal or Octopath Traveler so I have no idea why you are bringing those up except to move the goalposts. You know what games do have a next gen version? Borderlands 3 and Marvel's Avengers, which is why people are calling Sony out for not allowing PS5 PSNow subscribers to play the PS5 versions of the game.

Did you really just say that Square Enix publishes Borderlands 3?
It is amusing and all that you feel the need to defend Sony but it is Sony's service where the problem is, not with the publishers who make the games that Sony puts on that service.
So basically what you are saying that 2021 is just a typical Nintendo year, one where most of the games coming to your preferred console are exclusives and indies and you are going to pretend that that is all that matters.
Does this mean that Nintendo really did have the best lineup of games in the years that released Red Dead Redemption 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Monster Hunter World, Cyberpunk 2077, etc?
It takes a real fanboy to look at a year where...
Jeez, even admitting that 2021 is sparse on game releases is too much for Sony fanboys. It seems that there are a ton of great 3rd party AAA games coming this year and they just got tired of typing after RE Village.
MH Rise is even easier than World so I don't see why anyone is still complaining about the learning curve. It is amusing seeing the fanboys who attacked World for not having g-rank or as many monsters as the Generations compilation be completely silent about Rise also not having g-rank and about the same amount of monsters as World.
The "new" THQ is becoming as bad as the "old" THQ. Right before THQ went bankrupt in 2012, they locked the Ranger Mode for Metro: Last Light behind pre-orders. Looks like they didn't learn from history.
Shin'en is really all over the place with game genres though and I'm not sure they would want to make another racing game. Their last 4 games are Nano Assault (twin stick shooter), Fast Racing Neo (anti-grav racer), Art of Balance (puzzle), and The Touryst (3rd person adventure). Definitely an interesting studio.
The chance of Sony making a new Wipeout under the leadership of Jim Ryan is next to nothing.
@Sonic-and-Crash
"she has almost Not even 1 game in her CV that is a success or even be completely responsible for its production"
Raymond was the producer for Assassin's Creed and executive producer for Assassin's Creed 2. You can tell how weak your argument is when you attempt to claim that the Assassin's Creed franchise isn't a success.
Yay, more ports...
Are fanboys going to also say that nobody bought the 3DS and that it is ok to have these ports like they did with the Wii U?
@King_Noctis
"And MS is just gonna suddenly cancel Halo Infinite, Project Mara, Hellblade 2, and Awoved right?"
Well they did do that with Fable Legends and Scalebound so it is possible. It is also possible that those games turn out like the Phantom Dust "remake" and Crackdown 3 and that is why people don't trust MS marketing.
Is this really news when there have been actually very few price cuts to consoles in the 8th/9th generation consoles? Upset by Switch not having a price cut ever? The PS4 hasn't had a price cut since before the Switch launched. XBox One has had the most price cuts, with a big part of that being how bad the launch was with the bundled Kinnect.
You may think that this is related to an event, but actually it is about their marketing strategy. Bungie is so good at the confidence game that many chose to blame Activision for Bungie's poor decisions in Destiny.
@ManMarmalade
"Its a console. At the end of the day it is meant to play games."

How exactly could you forget you could buy movies/TV shows when it is advertised every time you open the PlayStation store?
Do fanboys always have to downplay everything in order to cope with changes that are not positive?
@utopiancat
"What mistakes has he made though?"
For starters, he did lie with his statement about generations. Here it is from the interview -
One way to keep PS4 users engaged would be to make upcoming PS5 games playable on the older machine, just like Microsoft is proposing with its Xbox Series X games being playable on Xbox One. Yet Ryan says that's not something PlayStation is interested in doing.
"We hav...
There goes the heart of Sony. Jim Ryan is just a corporate stooge who has no passion for video games and unfortunately this is just the latest of his bad decisions. It wasn't his first and won't be his last.
@Shiken
In order to be fair, my list of 15 first-party PS4 games only started in 2017. If one were to start from 2013 you would add Knack, Killzone Shadow Fall, Infamous Second Son, Driveclub, Uncharted 4, The Last Guardian, (and a few more MLB The Shows if you wanted). Additionally, there are the 3 first-party games Sony released for PS3 in 2013 if you want the full picture.
Nintendo has clearly been lackluster in first-party output since 2017. Retro ...
"You can't buy games anymore"
That is the point - once the PSN store closes nobody will be able to play these games if they haven't already purchased them. Sony is abandoning their legacy to supposedly save a few bucks. They are also saying that all Sony published games are worthless eventually.
