How about the digital PS5 - you ok with supporting that?

I didn't miss the /s - it is why I am making fun of you and your hypocrisy. Also, don't sell yourself short - you are worth the 30s it took to compare all those saying the PS4 cmos is no big deal while this XBox problem is the end of the world.

Assassins Creed 2 showed Ubisoft how to make money and Far Cry 2 showed them that gamers don't like complex ideas. Now Ubisoft just turns out games that are just variations of the same thing.

Reviews are pointless when all I can think about is how Biomutant locked an entire class behind a preorder bonus. Instead of buying the game day 1, I'll pick it up when it is $20. Punishing players who don't preorder is not the way to win over consumers.

@bouzebbal

"One of the reasons I will never support this anti consumer company"

Yet you are completely ok with supporting Sony even after you know that all PS4s will be unable to play any physical game after the servers go down and your cmos battery dies.

cmos removes all PS4s the ability to play any game once the battery dies when the PS4 servers are no longer active. This renders the XBox Series X unable to play XBox One Smart Delivery games when the XB servers are no longer active.

This is what you said about the PS4 cmos issue - "You know? Thinking about what could happen with your console in 15 years is kinda pointless. This is the first time i've seen people being concerned about it."

Is anyone really surprised to see this story on n4g while the same one about PS4 and PS5 was blocked? Once again it appears that only Microsoft customers are allowed to hear bad news about XBox here at n4g since that fuels the console war. We don't see mods blocking this story because "Not an issue for XBox as everything is online. When they take the servers offline, then it's an issue"

It wasn't Amazon that was doing the pressuring on Sony and bringing up an unrelated case from 4 years prior just highlights that you have no proof to back up your claims (you did just try to claim that in response to Amazon wanting a bigger cut from Sony, Amazon ended their 20% off discount for preorders). Since there is no court case where we get to see internal company communications, all we can do is look at what happened and when. What we do know is that Amazon and Best Buy were bot...

You are correct, which is why I referenced lifetime sales vs. time supported by Nintendo. Everyone remembers the success of the DS, but even after the DS launched the Gameboy Advance still sold almost 20 million more units. Pretty impressive considering that the last new games Nintendo published for it were Mario Party and Mario Tennis: Power Tour in 2005.

Worldwide, Gameboy Advance was on the market for 3 years 5 months before the DS replaced it. The Switch is extremely successful, and I would still give it the edge over the GBA since it costs at least double, but you have to admit that the GBA is probably the most overlooked Nintendo handheld. If Nintendo kept it on the market for 6 years like they did with the DS, then we probably would have had another handheld selling at least 125 million units.

That isn't even close to what happened but it isn't surprising to see the lengths some go to defend Sony. Sony stopped third-parties from selling digital PSN games in 2019. Amazon stop selling pre-orders for Sony exclusives as well as PSN cards in 2018 and they only returned in 2018 after Amazon ended their Amazon Prime pre-order discount. 2018 was also the same year that Best Buy terminated Gamers Club Unlocked - another program that offered consumers an option to buy a game cheap...

Gameboy Advance was only on the market for 3 years before its replacement was released. No other console or handheld has had that kind of lifetime sales success (81.5 million) in such a short amount of supported time.

Digital sales played a big part in this achievement. Digital game sales have overtaken physical sales, with the average price spent on a PSN game being between $20 and $30. Meanwhile, PS2 reached its sales achievement with only physical sales and the only time games saw the deep discounts that PS4 games routinely get on PSN was when brick-and-mortar stores were clearing out old stock. The whole breakdown of the information is quite interesting in showing the growth of digital video game sa...

We can only hope. Despite being around since the 80s, Capcom only seems interested in Resident Evil and Monster Hunter - with a little support for Devil May Cry and Street Fighter. Mega Man, Marvel Vs Capcom, and Dead Rising seem to be dead, they took 4 years to release the latest Ace Attorney game outside of Japan (and only digitally for PS4 and PC), and new IPs like Dragon's Dogma are abandoned.

Monster Hunter is massive now. World sold 7.5 million copies in its first 5 weeks. Only thing that can stop Monster Hunter is Capcom themselves screwing the series up (which unfortunately they have done to too many of their other IPs).

Sony didn't "lose" 3rd party exclusives - 3rd party exclusives from big publishers pretty much disappeared during the 7th console generation. Games cost more to produce which meant that it made little sense for publishers to limit themselves to one console. There was no exclusive GTA, Final Fantasy, Tekken, Kingdom Heart, or Devil May Cry. What few 3rd party exclusives that remained were due to hardware or timing limitations. Capcom's Lost Planet was originally exclusive...

This is the quality content we can expect on n4g. Sorry Sony gamers, Christopher doesn't think you need to hear about PSN stores being shut down or software problems that will affect your consoles in the future. You do get to read the 22nd article about someone saying that Microsoft is better than Sony because of Gamepass - with actual ads for Gamepass embedded in the article.

Gamepass is fine for what it is but if your entire purpose for buying an XBox rests on you g...

"That's why the number of copies sold is not a good metric." In that case, only sales of Nintendo games matter since Sony offers all their games at a discount months after release. If you still want to downplay the successful sales of Days Gone, how do you deal with it being the 19th best selling game in the US in 2019 (the only PS4 exclusive in the top 2019)?

People can be upset with Sony not making a sequel to Days Gone because it didn't reach an arbit...

While I agree with the overall sentiment of the statement, that is about the dumbest thing to say when it comes to Days Gone and the condition it launched in. People don't like buying games at launch because too often it takes months afterwards to get the game in a playable state with no bugs and game mechanics that actually make sense. Also, it wasn't sales that affected Days Gone future since apparently it sold more copies than all previous Bend Studio games combined.
