Steam never fails to amuse me with many of its weird and wonderful titles. Very tempted to play this, although I'm worried that I'd just spend the rest of my life watching a snail slowly going around in circles. xD
Developers have a lot more tools at their disposal now, and with many more people making games, we're unlikely to have a situation where big companies produce games worthy of hiding. That being said, terrible games still exist, and if companies continue to try and make big projects very quickly, we may be in for some awful titles.
Nice article. Never actually played any of the Tropico games, but if I get around to them I'll remember to keep a light-hearted attitude.
Nice list and some great reminders of good old evil-doing. Dishonored is probably the best example for me, you can take the hard/good option and not kill anyone in the game, or let lose and just destroy everything in your path.
I'm glad that there are still games out there trying to master a scary atmosphere without resorting to jump-scares. Shame that the gameplay is lacking in interest after a while, and the combat is tiresome.
Voice acting really can make or break a game. Sometimes characters should probably just stay quiet though, look at what happened to Megaman when they gave him a voice or the Moogles in Final Fantasy XIII-2
Great list, with a couple I wasn't aware of. Mark Hamill is awesome and Elijah Wood never fails to amuse me by the amount of games he puts his voice to, such as Broken Age. Would probably add Stephen Merchant to the list, for Portal 2.
Nice list, all great guys who have made a big contribution. Big fan of Saturo Iwata, was such an amazing programmer.
Better run and hide or Shia will get you!
Haven't gotten around to the first get yet, very shame faced about it as I'm a big Lord of the Rings fan. I hope that if a sequel does happen then it's up to standard though, too many sequels come out too quickly hoping to just ride the glory of the previous game.
Yeah, looking back it was a bit fiddly and a lot of the enemies were repeated. Still, it had a lot of atmosphere and some great visual storytelling to make it worth a playthrough.
Aha, I meant a specific game but I shall make note to create a monstrosity and release my wrath upon others. xD
Very true. The game looks like it's going to be very simple but is actually quite challenging at times and has a Megaman-esque feel to it.
Some nice openings there. Completely agree that an opening can make or break a game. A couple of personal favourites include: Bioshock Infinite, Alice: Madness Returns, and Battleblock Theatre.
23 and still know all the words to the theme song, very proud. Defiantly excited, but painfully aware of the potential negatives. I really hope they get this right.
Never actually tried a Wrestling game before. If I looked into them now I'd have no idea where to start!
Haha, oops. That must have been a real face-palm moment.
Love Ghibli so I'm really excited for this, it looks fantastic. The story sounds adorable as well.
Good to know. Sounds like you have to work hard to beat the rival, but if it was easy it wouldn't be as satisfying, and that in itself encourages replay. :)
Looks like an interesting game. A good set up with lots of tension but it's a shame that it's rarely obvious where to go and I image that leads/will lead to some frustrating moments.
