Just downloaded my copy. :)
Nice list, really liked the more obscure references, like Eternal Darkness. Surprised that Five Nights at Freddy's didn't get on there, but it is perhaps a little too obvious.
Worlds from games always scare me because of the monster threat, Zelda's Skyloft would be pretty awesome though. Then there's the chance to maybe wield magic from MMO type worlds, the beauty of places from Trine, or play with Pokemon...ahh the choices.
I really should get around to playing these games. If I do try, this list will act as a handy guide.
I have so much love for Nintendo. Their mantra is to make fun games, and I don't see what is wrong with this. I play games to have fun after all. xD
Don't get me wrong, I really like shooters, but I completly agree that it's really nice to play other genre's in gaming. It's surprising how much fun many players have gotten out of franchises like Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing, proving that it's nice to just enjoy a more relaxing game every now and then.
So true! I don't mind when bosses heal if they've been done well, but most of the time they end up feeling unfair and overpowered.
Xemnas is probably more differcult to be fair. I've also always found fights with Riku pretty differcult - not the hardest thing ever but a decent challenge. I wonder what they'll throw at us in Kingdom Hearts 3?
Ansem took me so long...'this isn't even my final form'. I think true battle and frustration came in the form of the final bosses in Bayonetta 1 & 2 - complete crazyiness.
I was part of a gaming club at uni where a lot of controllers would be thrown around, or at least smacking them down on the table instead of placing them down carefully (especially during tornaments).
On the other side of things fighting games always give me hand cramps after a while. I have never managed to master how people play fighting games without their hands/fingers dying after a while. xD
The style of the manga/anime looks like it's been re-created really well. As a fan of the series, and also Warrior games, it looks like I'm going to have to pick this one up and give it a try.
A lot of this depends on your description of what a hardcore gamer actually is. I just think of myself as a gamer and enjoy playing a large variety of easy and different games. The hard games test my brain power and skills, while the easy level games give a sense of relaxing enjoyment and fun. It's not really about being 'hardcore' or 'casual' and more about what interests you as an individual person.
Glad I'm not the only one who has been pondering this question. Essentially if the annual games are good then why not make them yearly (for example Pokemon has had a good thing going for a while)? On the other side, if companies are just making the same games every year with little effort into making changes, then maybe they need to take some extra time to make it worth buying.
I watched Caddicarus play this, (also PBG) and came to the conclusion that it is actually quite boring. If you manage to get interesting stuff to happen then it can be wonderfully weird though.
Sounds like an interesting game that's worth checking out. Nice to know that the AI is as good, or even better than multiplayer.
I do miss the old Disney games, would be great if they brought them back. I remember many hours of fun spent on Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup - would love to see an updated version.
An enjoyable review to read and a game that sounds worth a look.
Nice list with a good amount of variety. Gotta love the classics with good old Bowser and Eggman. xD
Does make you wonder what the children of today will say scared them in video-games in ten years time.
Had my eye on this game for awhile I'm glad that it's good. Might have to actually buy it now. xD
