This game is rumored to last for 2 years, with more of a large DLC coming next fall instead of a full game. So it's a great time to jump back in
I typically hate cod campaigns and don't play them, but thanks to the 1 week early i gave this a try. It was good. Everyone except IGN is giving it an 8/10 or 9/10.
Played it for 5 hours, it wasn't the next big thing and i was bored. Story driven game, get missions from various NPCs and drive around the city to complete the missions and advance the story. If you can't see any similarities to GTA shows you've not played it.
I was expecting something new, fresh, the next big thing. It's another GTA type game. i don't see the big deal at all, even if the bugs are all fixed
Especially with the loophole to convert gold to ultimate. $5-$6 / month for ultimate is a loss for microsoft. Win for gamers.
Really looking forward to DMZ after the half arsed attempt at extraction shooter by BF 2042. Hope DMZ is not watered-down / too casual.
@Redgum there is no 2023 cod game being released. Instead there is rumor that every map from ModernWarfare2 (2009) will be released next fall in the new game engine.

Imagine not playing Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6, and Fallout 5 on Playstation. Or Redfall, Doom, Wolfenstein, Indiana Jones. Imagine having to pay full price to play Call of Duty and Diablo. Yup, Xbox is in real trouble =)
Maps are all too big as they were designed for 128 players. Ruined the whole game, especially for smaller modes like 16v16 Rush.
There's ample options of healers that can also do damage. Looking for healers to do the same damage numbers as damage dealers? Don't think that's how Overwatch works

I think they have a few more years agreement in place, maybe 2026? That'd be a huge blow to playstation to lose their #1 selling game, and a platform that doesn't know how to make a good multiplayer FPS, let alone any good multiplayer game. I can't think of one. Guess PS5 will become the single player campaign box.
Beta was great. And it ran better than BF2042 1 year in. Looking forward to more info on DMZ-tarkov-light
I thought the beta was great, perk system was an unnecessary change and should be reverted back, footstep audio could be lowered a touch. Everything else great. I think the pace will fit well with DMZ mode.
Keep in mind game pass can be obtained right now for dirt cheap, they can't be making much on gamepass subs yet. Once they get people hooked and the games start rolling out, expect the cheap promotions to go away. They are playing the long game.
