Agreed, i'll take Starfield, Elderscrolls, Fallout, Doom, Halo, Gears, over those 3rd person adventure games on the playstation any day. With a really good subscription service gamepass. And great graphics.
Make less powerful hardware to play yet another 3rd person story campaign while completely ignoring the massive first person shooter market. Makes sense. /s

Thanks ha ha. Ya, i extended my xbox live first out to 33 months, then for 1 extra dollar converted all 33 months to ultimate which essentially added 33 months of game pass for me. blah blah blah. My Point was that if I had to pay the regular monthly fee for game pass - i'm not sure if i'd be paying that right now. I would only pay if there was a new full price game coming up so i could get it for cheap. So the numbers are definitely inflated due to the crazy promotions they have...

I had 9 months left on my xbox live. Xbox had a promotion to turn your remaining xbox live into Ultimate (xbox live + game pass) for One Dollar. So i added 24 months on my xbox live bringing it to 33 months. Then i added the ultimate part, 33 months of it, for a 1 time cost of 1 dollar. I got 33 months of game pass added to my xbox live membership for 1 dollar. Who are these 9 disagrees above ha ha ??
As an xbox, fallout, elder scrolls fan - i'd be shocked / annoyed if PS5 got left out of these franchises that have been multiplat for a long time. I don't think their main franchises will be held off playstation.

When MS mentioned cross gen, their games were not going to be very good because held back by old hardware. So now that Sony is doing the exact same thing it's kind of laughable at all the comments about Playstation being true next gen, and believing in generations, blah blah.
Sony didn't do anything wrong really, but i mean, they could have said they were doing the same thing a couple months ago, and added clarity for the consumer. More upfront info is always good...
No misleading, just the narrative from playstation fans that Series X games were going to be sub-par due to cross gen. Well now i guess we have 2 consoles being "held back" by previous gen versions.
To be fair, it was decided on this site that xbox series x games are going to be gimped because they are cross-gen. But PS5 was going to show the true power of next gen. So ya it’s kind of funny now that PS5 is doing the exact same thing. I don't think either is going to take anywhere close to full advantage of next gen power for at least 1-2 years, which is how it always goes.

You were wrong to assume "NO ONE" would use a previous controller on a new system. I would use my PS4 controller on PS5. There, that's someone, non-theoretical, that you know.
And PS1 controllers work on PS2 and vice versa. And PS2 controllers work on PS3 with a cheap adapter. And xbox 360 controllers work on xbox one. And PC controllers work on every PC ever made for the rest of time.

Back to topic: You said “No one” plays with old controllers. And I’m saying Yes, some Playstation families with multiple gamers would gladly use their PS4 controllers on PS5 especially if they are in new condition. Free options are good for any gamer on any platform. If you think otherwise I’d like to know why.
There are absolutely people who have multiple gamers, or kids, that use the same system in a household. So now they will buy a PS5 with a controller, and then have to buy additional PS5 controllers at an extra cost. Did you think every gamer has the exact same setup as you?
All i'm getting from the amount of comments here is that playstation fans like to have less options, lol. So passionate about xbox doing anything even slightly different or more consumer friendly.
How is DJStotty being downvoted for stating simple facts? Certainly this doesn't give xbox a big "advantage", but come on - more options are better if you have multiple gamers in your house, or need a back-up controller in a pinch, or you like a different style of 3rd party controller.
Same here. XSX next year to start (for launch of next battlefield, or starfield). PS5 probably down the road depending on their exclusive catalogue at that time.
