@Newmanator – Free map packs lol. The game started with 6 small maps, and now what 10? Nearly half remakes. We used to get 16 At Launch. They are not giving out free map packs they are just cutting content at launch
@ knight_drives - The article says it'll be free to play. Several commenters above say it won't. As for the video, TheGamingRevolution said the trailer was coming out yesterday, so where is the trailer? Apologies if i don't believe any of this, and i'll be waiting for official word on if it's free to play and the release date.
Lots of time to game as a dad. You're social life will be cut back and you'll be tied to home a lot more. Don't commit to 'quitting gaming' if it's something you really enjoy, because you'll be sacrificing enough other things. A challenging and tiring time especially the first couple years, and 100% worth it. Best of luck

How is PUBG a prime example of why a BR needs to be F2P or dirt cheap with a ton of microtransactions? The game is 2 years old and has outlasted other games come and gone, and it’s made a ton of money on the millions of people that have purchased the game.
Your strength is shooters. Get some new first party exclusive shooters and stop remaking the same game. Buy PUBG while you’re at it and make PUBG2 for next gen that runs higher than 30 fps.
The story in Destiny 1 is well documented as bad. It just sort of ended. They had a lot of interesting stuff but chose to hide in grimoire cards that were not in the main game.

Too much grinding of non-challenging content. Give me more than 45 minutes of nightfall level challenge per week. Every single thing should have various difficulty levels. The whole game except raids and pvp felt super casual.
In the same boat, but for me it’s the linear story driven games that I just can’t get into anymore. After 25 years of them, they seem very formulaic compared to something like Siege or PUBG where I’m playing against real humans and the adrenaline is pumping. I’ll always have a place to be immersed in something like Xcom 2 or fallout 4, but I haven’t clicked with a story driven linear game since TLOU. There are additional reasons people might prefer consoles too. As someone with a desk job I’d rather not be on m/k in the evening, gimme a controller couch and big 4k tv please. Looking forward to another graphics leap, feel like each new gen console gets a bit closer to graphics parity as graphical advances are not what they used to be 10-20 years ago.

Playstation always ends generations with great support, but I recall PS4 had very little system selling exclusives for the first year or so. I agree 100% with you that for all consoles, they never really hit their stride with the new hardware until a couple years in when they take full advantage of the hardware. How is this different than current gen? PS4 has no good exclusives for the first year+ / xbox released titanfall on the 360. Name a system selling exclusive from current gen launch that was not on PS3 / 360? RESOGUN? Lol
Agreed a solid exclusive is the best way to make a sale. Word of mouth is a consolation, when my friends saw Titanfall 1 on the One vs the 360, it forced a lot of them to upgrade. Same with PUBG crashing because the One couldn't handle it, i immediately upgraded to the X. If there's a noticeable visual upgrade then people will buy, whether it's at launch or a time after of their choice.

Are you suggesting devs have innovative feature packed gameplay ready to go for launch, and they are now held back by this news? Highly doubt it. It always takes devs a couple years to take full advantage of new hardware. Also, there hasn’t been innovation from AAA devs in a long time, I’m not going to blame Microsoft marketing for all the upcoming remasters and reboots of old games.
