As I have stated before E3... I wanted to see a focus on 2014 and pre-E3 2015...
Going in my expectations were very low. The third parties probably showed about 80% 2014/Early 2015 games...
On the first party exclusives, I think both MS and Sony went too far into the future and showed us less than 50% for this year. MS has Sunset, Forza Horizon 2, and Halo Master Chief Collection. Sony has LBP3, Drive Club, and Last of Us Remastered. I would've pre...
None of the numbers are really surprising...
Wii U getting a bump up from Mario Kart...
PS4 has a few million larger installed base than Wii U so a highly anticipated multi-plat should sell equal or more.
X1 sales have been supressed since a month ago where MS announced the $399 Kinect-less SKU. I expect the slack to be picked up in the next week of sales and X1 will be above the Wii U but below PS4 worldwide again.
PS3 shou...
I find it hard to get excited about any game that does not have a specific release date...
Can you say Last Guardian or The Agent?
I love what they showed but until there is a release date it is vaporware...
It has a Halo feel to it...
If you have played the Alpha, the game engine has a Halo feel to it. The more I played, the more I felt, this is just as much Halo as it is Destiny.
That is not a bad thing.
They have almost double the install base...
That is not hard math to figure out...
If they do not double XBO sales it should be seen as a failure given they also have timed exclusivity.
I disagree...
I agree it will not be mainstream for every game. It just does not fit for many traditional gaming genres.
One thing that is not natural with consoles is a keyboard/mouse. I think Kinect would be great to replace the keyboard and parts of the mouse in an RTS game.
Also, Kinect will still continue to be a useful tool for motion games... Virtual sports, dancing, and momentum action games like wipeout and hole in the wall.
VR is just as much a gimmick as Kinect.
I have Rift... It got about two weeks of my time and I am now back at the traditional controller/mouse/keyboard.
Why Bungie is 30 fps on X1 and PS4?
1) Because fanboys make a big deal about technical differences for absolutely no reason.
and
2) Because Bungie still has MS 50% ownership and probably in the separation agreement between them Bungie got creative freedom and platform independence in exchange for ensuring that every game Bungie makes must ship on all future MS consoles and the games must have technical parity with them.
Whatever happened to the definition of exclusive was that the game did not ship on any other platform?
This is more like a list of games that are not coming to X1 currently than an exclusives list.
To me, the most important thing is "new" content... Meaning a completely new iteration of an existing IP or and a completely new IP only found on PS4... Not a remake with some new levels or HD... Or a port from another platform...

No, this is what N4G has become...
Real gamers like great games and don't make resolution requirements...
So what is Forza 5 Drivatars?
infamous was 30fps. 30 fps is not a problem.
1. Great content for 2014
2. Operating System upgrades are adding tons of great features
3. Focus has shifted to gamers pretty much exclusively
4. Kinect-less bundle is a cheaper get in cost
5. Live Gold is a solid value
And this pretty much sums up the state of Nintendo for gamers...
Out of touch and ignorant to gamer wants..
For Nintendo to become relevant again they must add gamercard metrics (trophies/achievements), improve their online services drastically, and adopt the many social features the other two consoles have.
Until then, they will continue to erode their gaming customer base into oblivion.
Microtransactions are lousy. Tell me what the total price to play the entire game will be and I tell you whether I will pay it...
As for resolution... It matters to me that the difference is not 480p to 1080p... But 1080p and 900p is not something I care about at all. I'm sure some fans will disagree but really it is like comparing a Ford Fiesta to a Lamborghini vs comparing a Ferrari to a Lamborghini... Fiesta fans would get crushed by the features and raw power of t...
For me... Dragon Age trailer, Uncharted trailer, Bloodborne trailer, Crackdown trailer, and Scalebound trailer...
I look at the title and think...
If gamers assess games based on "prettiness" now we are all doomed...
Bungie has a great pedigree and I am sure the game will be solid. But, that title is a complete turn off to the game for me...
Although your comment is not at all factually wrong it is framed to favor Sony... And therefore can be argued on a basis of objectivity.
Sony definitely released more games on the PS4 than the X1... But, how much of those games are "new content" vs ports from other platforms that already have the game? And how many of those are full retail length games vs downloadable only games that often have less replayability and multi-player features?

I am fine with delays. But Yoshi is spewing a whole whack of BS here... It is not genuine at all...
You don't get less than a month away from release like DriveClub was and then all of a sudden it gets a year delay... That was purely because they knew the launch sales were very strong and therefore they could delay it year because they were certain MS had Horizon 2 and it would be an ideal competitor. They knew that months earlier but decided to keep it secret because...
343 is doing great with Halo. Halo 4 was a great entry into the series on aged-out and max'd out console.
Everyone only expected a Halo 2 Anniversary Edition this year, but we are getting all four main Halo games in one package...
And the small tease they did on Halo 5 multi-player was really good showing a significant graphical and game engine change.
With 343, Halo is in great hands.
