MS can't do anything about bugs in software.
All they can do is validate that games play by the rules that MS set forth to protect the platform and ensure the game works well into the future under those rules.
MS does not assess the quality of the game itself. Developers should be held to cunt on the quality of their game by consumer sales. And they are...
I can't believe the comments here. MS has a lot of technical requirements to ensure that games maintain compatibility with the OS throughout time, apply a level of security, are consistent with features that gamers expect in every xb game, and apply best practices in building games on the platform.
Just because they decline certification, doesn't always mean it is automatically Microsoft's business policies.
As a gamer on the xb platform, I like ...
Whatever. Gamers seem to whine and complain more than they play games now-a-days.
Guac is a great game and is free on day one for its xb debut, max is awesome (even if it is 2 months in a row), strider is fun, and towerfall is awesome as well.
There is a good 15-20 hours of gameplay for gamers between those 4 games. And it is all quality hours.
I am not sure on the ps4 (I don't buy indie games on my ps4), but with x1 pricing of the indie games on their marketplace is based on a calculation related to game production costs.
This game is dumb. The graphics are so brutal that they barely reveal the traps. If the graphics were decent and had some decent level of contrast between traps and non-traps it would be much better to play... and you would not die senselessly a million times.
There are good indie games and there are bad. This one is a bunch of crap.
@guyman...
I have no problem with Sony fans reading and commenting on xb articles as long as they are relevant to the article as an xb article.
If this would've of been a Sony article doing this for knack and kz retail games and the I commented MS do this for Ryse, dr3, and Forza I am sure someone would've told me I was trolling and off topic too.
Its pretty pathetic that you are defending this kind of behaviour in the comments. It p...
I guess Sony fanboys have nothing better to do then post in x1 threads Sony comments.
Np.
Maybe they should re-release a compilation of indie games... call it "BRIG"... (best recycled indie games)....
I agree as well. I buy all my games. Over 2,000 since the release of X360/PS3/Wii... And 99% were bought new instead of used.
You have to understand that DLC and Microtransactions are not targeted at people like yourself. They are targeted to the larger majority of gamers that pirate or buy used.
Cliffy B. formerly of Epic/Gears of War said something like "I have seen the number of gamertags compared to sales, the numbers aren't good"... ...
Crimson Dragon was on sale last month so I wouldn't expect to see it for a while as a freebie.
Nice that they are including a brand new X1 (Yes, I know Guac is on other platforms) release this month.
Also, Gotham City Imposters and Battle Block Theater are good 360 choices...
Gamers have gotten what we asked for...
Gamers buy games used where the publishers and developers don't get any profit.
So they have fought back by creating DLC and microtransactions.
I don't like DLC and microtransactions, but since gamers and Gamestop don't see any reason to give the publishers/developers any part of the used market, they are simply doing something that gets them the revenues they are losing out on.
Developers (like everyone) will take advantage of rules available to them. So if they are allowed 10 GB patches without paying for them, they will make them.
As for the patch size difference between the PS4 and XB1... The same could be said about PS3 vs 360. I downloaded many 750 Mb plus patches on my PS3 and almost all 360 patches were less than 50 Mb. This is simply a statement of the development state on each platform. It is well documented that developers have had to ...
I will take a rock solid frame rate of at or over 30 fps every time above 1080p.
MS used to have patch size limits that encouraged developers ship quality, bug free software.
Gamers asked for them to remove these policies and now they are bitching that patches are too large.
Gamers can't have it both ways.
PS Now = This Generation's PS Home
I applaud Sony for trying new things but I saw this coming miles away...
I can't believe how people make such a big deal about resolution. Resolution of graphics can add a wow factor to games for sure.
But, gameplay, story, sound, game engine, and frame rate are more important. to me, graphical resolution is not even in the top 3 of my concerns.
I hate seeing games at 1080p and 30 fps... To me, the focus is backwards. I would rather see 900p or 720p with 60 fps because a fast frame rate makes the games so much smoother.
Honestly, I don't know how they are going to make this service work for a profit.
The beta prices show that this service will struggle until it finds a better model. (Assuming this is the actual model)...
I like the idea, I just don't know how they can make a model that people will buy.
Renting a game for a few hours is ridiculous. What if I rent and 5 mins later I lose my internet connection for several hours? What if the stream on...
Articles like this are BS...
2014 is 2014 and that part of the article is what it is.
But, we are a long way from 2015. Game development can cause delays to any of the titles announced for 2015.
Also, MS tends to keep more announcements in the current year then in future years. E3 2015 will decide who has the best lineup for 2015... All I have to say to people that talk about future years is...
"Remember The Last Gu...
Your theory is novel but MS is many SKUs for X1 now... Different game bundles, Kinect and Kinect-less... Its position on amazon is highly irrelevant.
I'm not saying that X1 is outselling PS4... I am just saying that Amazon best sellers is a poor judge of how well (or not well) X1 is doing now.
This has been common practice for years by many publishers.
I remember the first video Sony showed of Killzone 2... Everything was photo realistic, but the game never turned out to be that good. And Microsoft saw the same thing with Alan Wake...
This is a problem at the start of a console cycle like we are at. Developers target ambitiously (And I applaud them for doing so). Then, reality sets in once you add in the actual gaming engine with AI, characters...
