We can play that game with a game like God of War as well:

I don't see why this is news... Given that the game has not yet shipped this sounds like standard practice.
They would be hauled into consumer courts otherwise...
I avoided Thief and Watch Dogs because I didn't see why the games got so much hype...
I expected FF Lightning Returns and Lord of Shadows 2 to be what it was, and I avoid MMOs like Elder Scrolls Online.
So, I haven't been disappointed by the games yet this year... I set the bar low and it has been met.
I'm fine with Bungie doing whatever. I'll be buying the game no matter what because after playing the Alpha it seems to be another Halo engine based game.
But, you would think that if you went multi-platform you would cater to the fans that bought 8,000,000 copies of each of your games on XBox. Instead, they seem to be putting up the middle finger and saying "FU XB fans, we are now PS fanboys".
Their choice, but it is obvious that this gam...
I think it is more expensive to buy them in Brazil...
I am fine with Bungie doing whatever they want with whomever they want.
But, when they separated from MS I thought it was for creative freedom so they could go in a new and innovative direction.
I've played the Alpha and it is a great shooter. But, I am not sure the innovation is there that I expected when they decided to move on from MS. To me, that is what disappoints me of them.... Essentially, I thought.... "You left MS to make this?". <...
All Capcom did was remove a buy-out protection clause in their business. Doing so is typical when a company feels it is in a good enough financial position or does not care whether it gets bought out through a shareholder takeover.
Next thing you know, all the gaming media and N4G dips who know little to nothing about business think they are doing that to get bought out by one of the big three.
If MS takes over Capcom it would be of the friendly variety... ...
@jnemesh....
Wow, you obviously don't know how to read...
I never said that any AAA games were cancelled due to indies... I prefer AAA games over indie stuff.
I played most of the indie games on PS4 long before the PS4 arrived... I played them on this thing called a "PC" through "Steam" where indies really live.
What I hate is a bunch of you PS4 fanboys thinking that indies are PS4 first... The re...
So far, what I have seen from all the indie games on my PS4 and X1 there are only a handful worth buying.
This is one of them.
As far as the parity clause is concerned... I would much rather see full games that are of the AAA variety. Indie games are nice, but should not be the focus of content on consoles.
Sony has plenty of cash and patents. There is no way it will go out of business...
They have 10s of billions in the bank... Companies with that much cash on hand cannot go bankrupt.
After 7 years and losing money most of that time, if you were a shareholder you probably wouldn't have any patience left neither.
And honestly, I don't see sony's plan to reverse its loses. PS is doing well, but TVs are bleeding red ink, and their music and movie busy is not doing as good as it should be.
the console is region free so anyone in the world can buy these games now...
To me, this means this game won't come out for at least another year yet.
That's not a bad thing. People just need their expectations to be realistic.
Kojima is notorious for delays. He understands what makes a great game but his time estimates stink.
This is where I am going to measure Spencer's success. To date, everything has been easy decisions...
Now, he needs to make the hard decision of what Rare does next...
Go back to its roots or continue Kinecting?
Ummmm.... So PS3 is in year 8 and 360 is now in year 9....
How many first party games are shipping for PS3 this year?
MS has already shipped Fable Anniversary and will ship Forza Horizon 2 for 360 this year.
It seems pretty clear that Sony has dropped support for the PS3 sooner than MS dropped support for 360 even though the 360 is a year older.
Yes... 360 holds the title as the longest generation run for a console before getting a next gen replacement... It was future proof for 8 years.
The PS2 went 6 years before PS3 shipped and PS3 went 7 years before PS4 shipped.
Even this year it is still receiving first party games (Fable Anniversary and Forza Horizon 2)....
That reminds me... How many first party games are coming to PS3 this year? None.... And everyone talks about MS aba...
There is no way a PS2 could come close to those graphics. That is one of the most sensational technical statements I have heard from any fanboy ever.
If a PS2 can come close to Sunset Overdrive then the more powerful original Xbox could obviously run The Order 1886....
LOL....
@Prime157.
It is a business model... Just like choosing leasing vs. renting vs. buying outright there are people that like the model and people that don't...
No matter how great a car is I will never lease it... I will buy it instead.
In gaming it is the same thing... I don't care how great the game is... If it is F2P it no longer is a download for me.
There is very little difference between F2P on mobile vs. the consoles...
F2P =
1) Too much advertising in your game
2) Pay or grind for 10's or 100's of hours
3) Pay walls that you are forced into after you start the game to progress
Sure there are a few F2P that don't fit those categories... But, a good 90% do.
No development tools are game changers.
It is all about the quality of games that ship.
And quality games is not equivalent to graphics fidelity. Quality games are about quality environments, gameplay, story, graphics, and sound...
