Well we can argue all day about which FF is worst. I personally despised FFXII but there are many people who hated XIII more.
But the question of which game is best has only 1 answer: FFVI.

I honestly don't know which one will win in terms of sales but I can tell you right now which one will have lots of players still playing in 6 years.
BATTLEFIELD 3
BF2 still has tons of servers up and running 6 years after release and I have spent an awful lot of time playing on them myself.
Activision is just milking their franchises for maximum dollar for minimum effort. Look at the Tony Hawk franchise. Look at the Guitar Hero franchis...

1998 was, without a doubt, the greatest year in videogame history. And the crazy thing was that most of those games were original recipe, not sequels, that spawned huge franchises.
Back then, making great games didn't require enormous teams and huge budgets. It just took great vision and talent. Also there weren't so many generic, half baked FPS games.
I miss those days.

The hard truth is very few people care.
Crysis 1 was a pretty game but it was also very, VERY average in terms of gameplay. I love FPS games as much as the next guy, but I simply can't conjure up enough will to care about Crysis 2. Maybe in a year or 2 I'll pick it up in the bargain bin or on a Steam weekend sale. There are just too many more interesting games releasing in the next few months. Crytek has fallen a long way since they released FarCry 7 years ago.
Solid Snake is the greatest console hero in all of videogame history (For PC it would be Gordon Freeman). That alone defeats this guy's entire argument.
Goldeneye 007 will always be the greatest movie game tie in. Of course it came it 2 years after the film did. But maybe that is the way it needs to be done?
Games take time and need lots of polish and playtesting compared to movies so maybe its time we start waiting a year or two after the film release to get the game.

I'm not entirely convinced this guy played the same game I did. His story point generally follow the same plot line but his assumptions are entirely wrong.
For one, when each god dies they released their control of sea levels/plantlife/sunlight. They were now "wild". Uncontrolled. Nowhere in the game did it state anything to the effect that a flood destroyed all life on earth. ETC.

Well considering that Sony is managing the PS2, PS3 and PSP while M$ only has to manage 1 console, I would say that Sony is raping the competition even worse than last gen. If PS3 is doing so well now, just imagine what it will be like once PS2 finally retires.
