Story IS important but Battlefield 2 and Counter-Strike have no story at all but they are still better games than all the halos and gears of wars and call of dutys combined. But you wouldn't care about those games since console shooters are the only shooters that matter to you. That was the point I was trying to make. PC is better than both platforms by a huge margin. As long as Bioware makes PC games, I've got no complaints.

FFVI is a masterpiece of its time and it is also a solemn reminder of how far Square has fallen, especially after the mediocrity of FFXIII. VI deserves every bit of the praise it gets.

I think every console this generation had lots of failures. And strangely... they also greatly succeeded in their own unique ways.
But as for Sony, I think they would have benefited immensely by not releasing their console until at least Summer of 2007. This would have made them the last console to release this generation but it would have greatly smoothed out its launch and they would also have had more (and better) software to debut.
I've been playing this since Friday and I couldn't be happier. It perfectly recreates the original Goldeneye feel in the source engine and it runs beautifully! I can't believe this is called a BETA because it feels like a release candidate. I really hope they do the single player mode too.

Yeah I remember when Metal Gear Solid got lots of 9s and even an 8.5 from Gamespot back in 1998. Doesn't change the fact that MGS is one of the most awesome and influential games of all time. Look at any "top 100 games of all time" list and you will see MGS on it.

The only people that say they don't have their PC plugged into their expensive HDTVs are the noobs that don't know that HDTVs can be used as a monitor and a wireless keyboard and mouse makes it easy to sit on your couch and game just like if it was a console (only with better control). Mr. Nomura hasn't made a single game that even got ported to either XBOX in his 20 years of game development. He might not be a "sony fanboy" but he is certainly going to do what he believes is best. Square-Enix is largely staying afloat because of his Kingdom Hearts games. I would say that gives him a LOT of power within the company.
