So you're admitting it was a misleading 'bait and switch' headline and article?
"GoldenEye fans will vehemently insist that their favorite is somehow actually better than Perfect Dark. This is, of course, despite the fact that it simply is not."
Another blogger trying to pass their opinion off as fact, stopped reading right there. Some people think Goldeneye is better, it's their opinion and they're allowed to have it, get over it.
While I didn't press disagree because I kind of get what you're trying to say, I think you may have it backwards or at least it comes across like that.
I believe the price is determined by worth. Worth being the quality of the thing you are buying. Unless of course demand is particularly high in which case prices may be inflated in response.
Again I understand your point and did not disagree, I just think it could be misinterpreted easily.
I think a lot of gamers have already embraced DD, what with PS+ filling our HHDs with free (pretty much) games and Steam on PC.
Also, it has been confirmed that PS4 will have a Bluray drive, I'll look for a link...

Attempting to make a decision based on an initial unveiling is very premature, especially with no price and (probably) most of the launch titles not revealed. Why try and decide when not all of the information is present?
The PS4 reveal left me (and most of the gaming community) intrigued but until I have all the info there's no point in making a decision just yet, unless you were really impressed by the five or so games they showed and money is not an issue.
Ubi really have confidence in this franchise and, judging by what we've seen so far, so they should.
"So why would Sony raise the stakes so high on a hand that isn’t made yet?"
They are obviously very confident of the console they have created. I'm certainly confident in their focus on me as a gamer and their dedication to games first and foremost. They also seem to have gained the confidence of many 3rd parties and indies who actually had a hand in how the console took shape.
Hopefully all of these devs can continue to make their games on other platforms so we don't miss out on the niche titles they tend to deliver.
Sony's self publishing system is looking very tempting right now.
Nobody is saying it doesn't matter at all, most people just tend to exaggerate it's importance. Calling anyone who offers an alternative solution to backwards compatibility an "apologist" is clearly jumping to an offensive conclusion.
Considering the game is likely to release on PS4 then anticipating it is the same as anticipating the console. Well, as far as Sony is concerned they will have a sale either way.
Oh I agree there but it's the sad state of things that when a AAA game tries to be different it tends not to sell as well.
Although there are some AAA games out there that really broke the mold even created whole genres i.e LittleBigPlanet.
The start of a new console generation is the last place to look for innovation in games imo, it's when the install bases are low and so is developer confidence. It will eventually pick up but we will have to f...
One question, if I'm wearing a headset on PS4 and streaming my game, will people hear me talk?
I can't tell you how much I want my frustrated profanity to be broadcast to the world :D
Didn't Sony already say they were making profit on PS3s sold now?
I think the kind of games you're looking for are out there, hidden among the call of generic shooty bang bang games. Take some of the great indie and smaller PSN/XBL games we've seen this gen: Journey, Flower, Braid, Minecraft etc. They aren't going to stop making games like that next gen, in fact Braid developer Jonathan Blow was right there at the Playstation 4 presentation showing off an interesting new game, The Witness.
The PS4 hype train is building momentum so fast that, if MS really are waiting until April to announce the Xbox 3, they may not be able to derail it at all.
Internet browsing.
It should work just like a touchpad on a laptop/notebook so browsing the internet will be a much better experience.
I disagree, I think making something a more of a convenience can itself be an innovation. The share button for example, while the principle is already possible, putting the button on the controller has not been done and is a fantastic evolution of a great idea, which is the very definition of innovation.
I kind of got the impression that the writer was just looking for a way to take this achievement away from Sony in spite, rather than making any logical point.
Most likely just some exclusive dlc as EA already stated in their conference yesterday that they would be supporting both platforms.
Re-light my fire, your love is my only desire...

If they don't do or say SOMETHING to counter PS3's momentum and PS4's hype they are going to regret it.
