@Icicle - PS4 has this ability as well, because you can buy games on your phone, and they will be downloaded on your PS4 when you get home. So it does have a low power state, which means it can download updates whenever as long as it is connected to the internet.
@Got_Banned - He's quoting it because it's just stupid if it wasn't silent in standby, and they fact they have to mention it is just ridiculous.
They did a great job with Sly, so I'm sure they could do well with Jak.
Naughty Dog has out-grown this series, I doubt we'll see another one. New IP is what I want from ND.
I already pre-ordered mine from Amazon

I heard they were running low, looks like Sony is doing what Nintendo did with the Wii and reducing the supply to create more buzz, can't blame them really, it works!
Aren't you the guy who hates MMORPG games? You kept saying Kingdom Hearts and Pokemon are going to be MMORPGs lol.
It's mainly lack of games, and because Nintendo haven't supported it well with first party titles, the console doesn't sell, and then third parties give up on it. It's a vicious circle.
Sounds like they're just match making based on reputation, which is the same as what you see in some FPS games, where you are matched up to people of similar levels to make your gaming experience a little more balanced. Doesn't seem THAT revolutionary, except that it is built into the system, so each game doesn't have to code it. So good in that sense.
So much for next gen not being a big leap.
It might have more raw power, (I'm guessing it won't though), but even if it does, nobody will ever take full advantage of it so you won't see any console-exclusive-quality games.
It's because the placeholder date is 31st December, so 1 week from them is a normal delivery date provided you didn't pay for day one delivery or Amazon Prime.
@darth - Again two completely different things. MS tried to force policies on the gamers to benefit themselves, no one will forget this, they may forgive them, but they will never forget it, and in the back of my mind at least I will always think twice before buying a new Xbox console. Who's to say they won't try the same shit next gen if they do better this gen? They need to be taken down a peg, just like Sony was with the PS3 at launch. Ultimately, consumers decide, but don't th...
The Xbox brand has already been damaged. People won't forget what MS tried to do the industry, and for that reason alone, we will always be suspicious of their consoles from now on. That CANNOT be undone. The only chance they've got is to launch at the same price, or better yet, cheaper than the PS4 without a Kinect bundled in, and then they will have a very good chance to build momentum for the Xbone again, if it's $350 (and whatever the equivalent to that is in UK), I'd reco...
@Catchmeonthat - How many alternative accounts do you need to create??? Also, how can you talk about exclusives, when neither console is out, and neither of them have confirmed which games are coming out when?
Firstly, the facts are that Sony has consitently proven that they support their systems with exclusives, right from PS1, PS2, and PS3. PS4 will be no exception, there will continue to be loads of exclusives for the PlayStation. If MS can keep up with them, then hats off...
List seems incorrect, for example it says mandatory install, yes, on both Xbone and PS4. Thought this was only confirmed for Xbone?
Also, for PS4 it says external storage, TBA, but it's pretty much confirmed imo, because the PS3 allowed it, so why wouldn't the PS4?
Honestly, I wouldn't even be slightly surprised if Sony come out at Gamescom, and say "PlayStation On" and the console switches on. They could so easily add this feature into their OS, and they did a similar thing when the Wii U was announced, they came out at their next conference with loads of Vita/PS3 cross play features e.g. LBP2 cross play.
Completely new game -> ends up being something stupid like Wii Fit Girl Chronicles.
I hope it is something hardcore, a bit more mature, but knowing the type of games that Miyamoto has worked on in the past, I really can't see it being anything other than a Mario-type game.
Pretty sure justastranger is georgeenoob guys. In any case, PS4 focus was a given this year. It would be stupid for Sony NOT to focus on a console they are launching in a few months. However, PS4 focus doesn't mean that they won't show anything for Vita. They will definitely show a few titles.
Seems a bit weird, but kinda makes sense in some ways. Because people who you have on your 360 friends list will not necessarily buy an Xbone, so they will just be wasted space on the list. Also, if they are doing the "real name" thing on Xbone, the you might not want certain people to automatically be transferred over and see your details.
PS3 has two different standby modes. One is just standard "waiting for controller connection" which is completely silent. The second is the remote play/scheduled update mode, which runs the PSU in a low power state, but you can hear a slight hum if you go near the PS3.
PS4 and Xbone both have additional low power chips on board, unlike PS3/360, so might be able to do a similar thing more silently.
