Not going to bother reading it, but the way I see it, the only advantage that MS has is Kinect. In terms of power, PS4 is more future proof, in terms of games PS4 will be more future proof as Sony have proven for three generations that they support their consoles for a very long time, and they have the best first party of the big 3. In terms of price, PS4 is already cheaper which means they will be able to react to any price cuts for Xbone in future. So unless Kinect becomes a major factor in...
I'm actually surprised at how long Sony did support this game. There was new DLC for ages, if that's not "trying" I don't know what is. The problem with this game was that it should have copied Smash Bros more than it did, but even then, what Nintendo fans like, is not necessarily what PlayStation fans like, hence why they buy different systems.
@Ofbabalon - Good point. PS3 was way more powerful tan 360 and we've got games like The Last of Us, Uncharted, God of War, Gran Turismo, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, inFAMOUS and more that look better than Xbox 360 exclusives.
Muhahaha. You walked right into that one Georgeenoob/Ofbabalon/justastr anger
Sony hasn't really shown their interface either, in that respect MS has showed off a lot more tbh, such as the snapping functionality.
There's a significant difference in power between Xbone and PS4, PS4 is 40-50% more powerful. Carmack comments are most likely targeted at the architecture, and the fact that both chips and are AMD Jaguar, both have 8GB of RAM, albeit different types, and therefore there are a lot of similarities between the platforms.
The PS4, if the specs that have been released are accurate, is just under 50% more powerful in terms of raw power. That's a fact that you can't den...
Retail price for current controllers such as DS3 was around £39.99, the pricing for the new controllers is way too much. I don't know if Sony has confirmed a price, but Amazon's placeholder shows as £54.99, this controller is £59.99 with a play and charge kit, although this one is confirmed. The prices are too much for both of them really.
If DS4 is around £45, then that is reasonable, but even that is the equivalent to $70. £59.99 is like $10...
They're in a 24.5 billion yen debt, and have bids of up to 20 billion, surely they would just take the highest bid? Although, Atlus themselves probably have a say as they probably don't want to be bought out by a company that will ultimately change the publisher for the worse.
This game does not look good, at all.
@Loki - No they didn't. Jack Tretton said on the GT interview that they had decided the price weeks in advance, and I think Pachter had a chat with one of the execs who said they were watching MS conference and were hoping they were not priced at $399, because Sony couldn't go down to $349.
@Nuke and John - The fact of the matter is, NOT everyone has a stable internet connection. Even those with the most stable internet connection can experience downtime for MORE than 24 hours. So if you had an Xbone, you would not be able to play any games during that time. Anyone that doesn't see that this could be an issue is blind, and needs to stop drinking MS' Koolaid.
The difference with the original Xbox is that nobody expected anything from MS. They had NO fanba...
@givemeshelter - Never had any of these issues on my PS1. Had DRE late in cycle on PS2, but just opened it up and bent the laser arm downwards a bit as it was not connecting to the teeth properly, which solved the problem for a few weeks. Then when it reoccurred, I would just do the same thing. The real solution was buying a metal laser arm for about £5, but bending the plastic one down was not so annoying for me.
The 12GB rumour will NOT be true, it was just some bullshit that some guys posted as a joke on a forum, and people took it seriously. Is it were true, it would mean that MS would have to reconfigure their entire Xbone motherboard, and would mean that they would be even MORE behind in manufacturing etc.
Also, it is not a good sign that they are upclocking this late, when they had so many RROD issues because of a similar thing last gen. Although the upclock is quite small, so ...
@nuke - That would have been the most stupid decision, because if they are priced the same, and they BOTH had cameras, it would come down to who had put the most resources into making camera-based games, in which case MS would have won because they have more casual titles. Cutting the camera and launching $100 cheaper is a genius move by Sony, and the fact is they decided the price way in advance.
I will never understand why people always say "it should have launched at ...
I thought it was an Xbone feature but seems like it is an thing for the forums/online community. Good to see that it will come to XBL eventually though. Also good from a business perspective because it means you need to employ less support people.
Sony will make up so much money from royalties, that it makes sense to have a lower than expected price point. If they sell loads of consoles, especially in the initial stages, they will easily rake in the money on third party titles, and even more on exclusive games. If you add on to that PS+, and any other future services like Gaikai, it shows you their mindset.
They are coming at this generation like they are the underdog, like they are launching the first PlayStation ever...
@JOY - There's a difference between opinion and someone just explaining features. The title of this story is stupid because of course he will be excited by it, really the title should have something to do with the features that he talks about in the story.
Also, Cerny is a developer, and the engineer of the PS4, so he knows what he is talking about although there is an element of bias. Major Nelson is just a popular exec, he's like Reggie, people like him, but he know...
Lol I thought this was going to be an article that just said, "Because I get paid to be excited for it".
Basically it tracks peoples online play habits, and copies the way they drive. I'm amazed at how stupid MS make themselves sound when they say stuff like "THE CLOUD MAKES OUR GAME 600% BETTER", when in reality, all it's doing is downloading ghosts automatically, and calculating how a user drives.
They need to stop talking about this shit and SHOW IT, to prove what it can actually do. If users can't tell the difference, then there's no real benefit o...
Will probably be like Dark Souls/Demon's Souls online by the looks of it. However, if you pause the video at the right times, you can see in game footage, and it looks nowhere near as good as the demo they showed on stage at the PS4 reveal :(
Can we please get rid of this satire shit? It's not funny, it's just trolling for hits under the guise of "satire".
