That localization BS doesn't make sense for why they're not launching in more countries in Europe. Switzerland for example, they speak German, Italian, French, English. Why isn't the Xbone releasing there?
They could just come out and say that these places aren't as important, but the localization BS is just stupid.
@hqgamez - Exactly, he said:
"I’ve just never clued into the whole triangle/square thing on Sony’s consoles."
That shouldn't be the case unless you started gaming in the Xbox generation (which I'm guessing the author is part of as he says he's been gaming for 12 years), and completely missed out on PS2, arguably the best console of all time. Even PS1 had the same button layout.
I actually had issues with the Xbox 360 co...
It actually looks better the more I see it. When it was first announced it was sort of a passable title, but the seamless challenge stuff seems surprisingly good. Good thing it's free (ish) for PS+ subscribers.
There won't be a SM game next year, I think it will be Mar 2015. Sony'll probably announce the next Naughty Dog game at the VGAs for holiday 2014 though. NateCole is spot on imo, it matches the trends that the companies have been following.
@Septic - I agree, Kinect is definitely the stronger camera. I guess it depends on how well it is utilised, and advertised, and MS are great at ads.
@Septic - I think it's more to do with the fact that voice commands are the only "hardcore gaming" implementation of Kinect features this gen. Everything else involves having to wave your hands around like a maniac. That's fine for certain games like Just Dance, and party/mini games, but don't work well for hardcore games at all.
Also, I don't think people are that excited by this.
Oh God, every time I see it I want to throw up. What a POS design!
I expected this, I said it a while ago. There are a few things that the Kinect can do that the PS Eye can't do, but voice commands are mainly software, and with the 4-mic array on the camera, it was bound to be able to handle some sort of voice commands.
@XHI4 - It's a rumour from a while ago that Sony put $20 million into funding LA Noire as a PS3 exclusive. I think Jack Tretton kinda confirmed it, but not the number. He basically said something along the lines of "Rockstar came to us and wanted to take the game multiplatform, and we were okay with that, but we got Agent as exclusive in return."
Agent is just vapourware though imo.
@lopez - Are you saying there are more GOW games than Mario games? LOL.
I never trust VGC 100%, and those Knack vs TitanFall figures are quite funny. However, just to be fair, there is no confirmed release date for TitanFall, and the sales will be split across Xbox 360, PC and Xbone. Knack on the other hand is confirmed for launch, so it would make sense if it had more pre-orders.
OMG, this looks terrible. I was actually excited when I heard about this, but they've got rid of the fold? That's the best part of the design. It looks like absolute shit without the foldable design.
@JOY - I agree, but that's IF it stays in the box, and MS has done so many U-turns, I really really doubt that there will not be a Kinect-less SKU at some point. And if that happens, it will split the fanbase, which will mean all those that bought the console with Kinect will basically have been charged for a peripheral that will be useless (in terms of games), because developers will stop supporting it.
They keep saying it like people are going to believe it. If the console doesn't sell as well as MS expected, 100% guaranteed that there'll be a Kinect-less SKU. They are just waiting for the hardcore gamers, who will buy the system anyway at launch, to reduce their losses.
@Gamingcapacity - I thought the exact same thing. It provides a little more evidence that a November 22nd release date could indeed happen.
The beta proved to me what I expected Resistance to prove to me, and that's that FPS games can work and work incredibly well on the Vita. Killzone Mercenary is made by Guerilla Games Cambridge, not even the main branch, and it is absolutely fantastic from what I've played. Very addictive. I hope these guys make a new IP for Vita soon, because they've already proven that they can make a great game imo.
@Weedy - Yeah, I understand that. I just think managers almost everywhere get bonuses and paid too much to do very little.
It's a Gamestop gift, not a Sony gift. They're rewarding their workers with PS4s, probably because it is $100 cheaper. If Xbone was $100, they'd probably give that to them.
How much management does a Gamestop branch actually need though? People who go there to buy games most of the time already know what they want. The rest of them are convinced by the normal staff one way or the other.
@Fox - Please read the second sentence of my original post again.
"MS didn't have MANY announcements."
I didn't say they had no announcements. Just after E3 I said that I expected MS had announced everything in a panic, and that I would be surprised if MS announced more than 2 new IPs at GamesCom. Turns out they didn't announce any new IPs, they announced a Fable game.
On the other hand, Sony announced a few games for e...
Obviously they are going to say this, they're not going to say PS4 is better because that would make no sense business-wise.
