It's not a huge stretch though to believe this. Xbone is more expensive than PS3 at launch, is £80 more than PS4, and doesn't have a year and a half lead to get an installed base.
Yep, Xbone rolls off the tongue, and differentiates the console way better than the consoles ACTUAL name. That's why it will stick, because MS were too stupid to realise that Xbox One can also refer to Xbox 1, sorry, The Original Xbox. It doesn't sound stupid like the Wii U, but in terms of practicality, it is VERY stupid. What do they call their next console? Will there even be one?
Ratchet will never go to Xbox, unless Sony decides to sell the franchise like they did with Crash. There's a possibility that the Ratchet movie might change things though, but can't see it going on Xbox unless Sony allows it.
Stuff are absolute idiots. Sony knows that this is an issue, which is why they've tried to mitigate it by providing other options.
Play as you download, preloading, and providing an option to get a disc version. All of it makes a difference.
Also, 50gb would take a while to download at UK speeds, but not over 2 days.
It's like with PSP when Sony announced the up clock, but they were smart enough not to mention it before the thing even launched lol. Still at least this shows that MS are thinking of future proofing to an extent.
Yeah Hellsvacancy, "HAVE YOU NOT LISTEN"?
LMAO.
I doubt it's a lot of video, maybe audio and textures, but most of these games rarely have loads of video, they might have a few but not loads.
@UltimateMaster - It isn't a bad thing on its own, but I think that MS is allowed to fire them if it believes the employees made the company look bad. I'm not sure about that though.
This is a reactionary comment as he knew that people are implying that Ryse looks bad, and would look better on PS4. I wouldn't read too much into it.
Same as always, that's why PS3 exclusive online games I've played have never had lag issues.
3rd parties will give up on the Wii U pretty soon, it'll become a shovel ware/party game console like the Wii with the exception of certain first party/moneyhat exclusives. Ubi knew Rayman wouldn't sell well on the platform which is why they delayed the release so they could release on other platforms too.
@starchild - the link you posted proves that what I said is correct. A polygon IS NOT triangle, IT IS converted into a triangle by the game engine, which essentially splits it into two. I practically said the same thing you said in your post, but somehow you managed to think you said something different,
I'm NOT saying that triangles and polygons are completely different things, just that one has four sides, and one has three, simple. And as I said, the Devs probably are ...
@nirwanda - You can model an object in polygons (four sides+), and with the 3D software, automatically split these into triangles, and then make minor changes, although 3DS Max, and Maya will usually do the smoothing for you. So you could model a 40,000 poly object, and do the split, and it would create a 80k triangle object.
So technically polygons and triangles are NOT the same thing because a polygon has more than 3 sides, HOWEVER, it depends on what the developer themselv...
So this is why MS posted those screens on their website. The old one definitely looks a lot better, and sharper. Need to see it in motion before giving any real judgement.
@JOY - You brought this on yourself as you are the one who keeps quoting the poly count. It doesn't bother me as long as the game looks good and plays well. HOWEVER, I am now very worried that what we have seen so far is not representative of the actual game, which means MS is hoping to sell this game off of a lie.
I don't mind 720p at all, as long as it looks good the resolution won't matter for most people.
More importantly, can anyone explain why DirectX or OpenGL (especially) couldn't simply take ideas from Mantle and improve their APIs?
There are Christian Arabs you know, millions of them.
TECHNICALLY PC games will always look better than console games graphically, because you're paying a ridiculous amount more for it.
ARTISTICALLY/STYLISTICALLY - That's debateable. Uncharted/TLOU and even simple games like Journey look fantastic, and better than almost any PC game I can think of. Yes Crysis 3 looks good blah blah blah, but graphics isn't all about the amount of polygons.
Phil Harrison is hired by a console. O_O
Lol this is an example of a mountain out of a molehill/storm in a teacup situation. Sony have created bundle boxes, and are mainly shipping those from now on, so people who preorder from now on will of course have to order a bundle. This is to be expected when the standalone unit preorders are fulfilled, and is why if you wanted the console on its own, you should have preordered early.
With that said, getting a bundle, for whatever console, is not necessarily a bad thing, bec...
