@PowerVR - What Inveni0 said. Architecture is x86, but it is a 64-bit chip.
Graphically this looks good, but imo, it looks like it could be possible on PS3, albeit maybe not by Capcom. Dragon's Dogma looks quite bad graphically, and this looks miles better than that. Still excited for this, but will wait for gameplay vids before making any decisions.
If MS wants to have any chance in Japan, they need to fully moneyhat a proper numbered Monster Hunter/FF/Dragon Quest. NOTHING else will work. It wouldn't be popular with most of us, but it is literally the only thing that will give them a chance.
Whatever you hope for it won't be that. It'll end up being some shite like Lost Planet
@PowerVR - I know you're a troll and probably one of greenpowerz multiple accounts, but why in the hell would they use both PowerPC and x86? The whole point is that he wanted to move away from PowerPC because the architecture is more complex. Xbone is the same, both are x86-64 chips.
The game is probably coded to cache data to the HDD, so if you install it to the HDD, it is reading and writing from the same source, so might be slower than if you just run from the disc. I think Halo 3 was similar to this as well? Can't remember exactly, but I remember it was either that or ODST.
@JOY - Don't worry, apparently it is coming in the next few days if TGS info is to be believed. The truth will eventually be revealed, whether MS or Sony like it or not.
I think the original game screens look better, so MS is shooting themselves in the foot with this imo.
"She" used to be a dude.
From what I've heard about Japanese living space, Kinect won't work well in Japan, simply because their rooms tend to be quite small, and Kinect needs quite a lot of clearance. On top of that, Xbox sells like crap in Japan, so there is very little incentive to support it.
Surface failure is down to the fact that it runs Windows RT. If it ran standard windows 8, which it can't, a lot of business would have bought into it. Stupid decision by MS really.
So basically he admitted he didn't know wtf he was talking about, and it would be better to shut up and let the people who know explain. I said as much when he pulled that peak RAM bandwidth figure out of his ass.
Wow, they should rename it to Ancient Games with Gold. This is one of the first games I got with my 360, and it was shit then.
@itBourne - Was going to say the same thing. This only affects people who use capture devices, everyone will still be able to use the Game DVR anyway.
@Ballseye - inFAMOUS is better than anything on Xbone, so your point is completely invalid.
This is a clear admission that the Xbone is weaker than PS4. The comment which basically says let the games do the talking, is of course true, but has nothing to do with the power of each console. It never has, the Wii U is significantly weaker but can still have great games. This argument was always about power, yet some delusional people seemed to think the Xbone was more powerful than PS4, when it clearly was not, and several developers have pointed it out.
PS2 was weaker...
I've played a few hours of every GTA since PS2 versions, and I played San Andreas for the longest, but I still don't like GTA. I tend to get bored of it easily and I think it simply is not focused enough, because there are so many side missions.
Also don't like how its supposed to be an adult game, yet most of the buyers were underage.
I do quite like Red Dead though, but I wish they made more story focused games.
@Dat - Yup, for three generation straight.
@nuke - by that logic the Xbox 360 has a higher bandwidth than the Xbone because the eDram runs at 256Gb/s. So the Xbone is actually a downgrade. We all know that isn't true, so please cut the BS.
@strife - CPU speed isn't confirmed. Original rumours stated 1.6Ghz, since Feb it has been rumoured to be 2 Ghz.
My personal best scenario would be if each of the major first party teams; Santa Monica, Naughty Dog, Guerrilla Games, and Sucker Punch, had 3 teams, 2 working on PS4 games alternatively and 1 working on Vita games.
We all know that won't happen though :(
