Is Albert Penello the system architect? Because he really needs to STFU.
Sony isn't saying the PS4 is 50% more powerful, the DEVELOPERS are. So no matter what you try and explain your way out of, you can't, because the games makers are noticing the difference.
Also that bandwidth comment is complete BS. He's comparing peak bandwidth, of ESRAM and DDR3 as the peak possible performance. Bandwidth doesn't work like that. The ESRAM is on 32MB, so...
@ohio - how many dupe accounts do you need?
Anyone who believed that GPU stuff in the first place was a moron, especially when no developer was corroborating it at all. It was like that stupid 12GB RAM rumor.
Very biased comparison to be honest. The Deep Down screens are from the original trailer, and what they showed in the new trailer didn't look as good as that. It looked good, but we couldn't see much due to low quality video and dark environment. Ryse is actually in-engine/game, so we need to at least wait until we get some real direct feed screens from Deep Down before comparing.
I know some people don't like Ryse, but this is taking it a little too far imo.
I immediately knew that it would be made into a gif when he came out at the conference with his sad face. LOL, still makes me laugh.
inFAMOUS > all.
I hope there's a direct feed up at some point, because the quality of this vid is terrible. Sounds like Assassin's Creed/Dark Souls from Ono's description, still interested at the moment.
As long as it's not being published by MS, it will definitely be coming to PS4.
I prefer Xbone, it's easier to say and is more differentiated from the first original Xbox. I can't count how many times I've said Xbox 1 and meant the first Xbox, and I hate having to make that distinction. So Xbone it is.
Typical, good story = it's a movie. Games journalism is getting dumber by the second.
Hopefully it looks closer to the original trailer that was shown, because the gameplay they showed in the second trailer looked nowhere near as good unfortunately. Still looking forward to this game though, hopefully it is a big game.
This guy is the new Aaron Greenburg, and that's not a compliment.
Hardware-wise, they already are.
Software-wise, they will for third party games in a few years. But first party is the main thing for Sony, and there'll never be anything anywhere near as good as stuff that Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch and Sony Santa Monica puts out.
Is Major Nelson getting hired by Sony in the next few months?
That's the only way his comment makes sense.
Just from the raw specifications, PS4 is definitely more powerful than the Xbone. There is no denying that. What it comes down to then is OS load and optimization. If he's saying that their OS is more optimized and therefore reduces PS4 advantage, that's something I can understand (extremely unlikely going by the three OS setup on Xbone). If...
Major Nelson am cry.
Microsoft is so sorry that they aren't going to get your money more like.
PS4 IS more powerful than Xbone in every technical way. Fact.
PS3 was more powerful than 360 overall. 360 had advantages in certain areas, such as unified memory and a better graphics card.
Conclusion = PS4 games will look better than Xbone unless a developer rushes a PS4 version and takes time on Xbone version.
@come_bom and dark-hollow - You do know that "many" people like Fifa, and "many" people don't like Fifa. Same with COD, same with pretty much everything in the world. There is nothing that EVERYBODY likes.
@torchic - illumiroom is just a projector, with the edges showing selected parts of the projection. It only works in certain light conditions, needs a bigger than average room, and probably costs a bomb. Oculus Rift is much cheaper (going by prototypes) and versatile.
@malokevi - Nothing like that happens in Heavy Rain. All that happens is literally the kid gets kidnapped, and then you don't really see him until towards the end of the game.
It's a valid reason from MS, but it shows that they don't let their developers be creative. They always want to "play it safe", and they cause a lot of problem even for first party developers, hence Bungie leaving.
It won't sell anywhere near as much as COD, but it will sell very well nonetheless. I'd guess at least 5 mil lifetime, up to 8 mil. Most sales on 360.
