I agree with Shinnosuke.. @ Mr Anonymous, what people mean by "generic" story line is that, despite what you woud think from hype and previews and the POSSIBILTY of a great story provided by the setting and plot, there simply is rarely any story at all in Homefront. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this game was a pile of shyte! I traded it in at Gamestop a mere 3 days after it's realease, having completed the campaign and played about 2-3 hours of the multiplayer--enough to know I have much better MP shooters on my shelf at home which are more fun and better looking than Homefront.
Nah, I doubt there'll be a bluray player for 360.. Don't quote me on this, but Im pretty sure that Bluray technology was owned and liscensed by Sony

I must apologize for being an "idiot who owns an xbox360." You are correct, If only I had more money, I could shell it out and buy a PC gaming machine. I think comparing GTAIV and Saints Row is an apples to oranges debate.. I disagree that "saints row is what GTAIV shoulda been." If you long for the cartoony silliness of the former generation's GTA games, then Saints Row is for you... GTA IV established itself as a more story-driven, dramatic piece with a more realistic presentation and grittiness that wasnt there in previous installments.
I Think there's definietly room for both games on my shelf :)

I think it would be pretty hard for anyone to agree that MGS4 was "utter crap." It may not have been your cup of tea, but ya gotta admit that game is a juggernaut, especially in terms of storytelling (hence the epic 15 minute long CG cut scenes).
I personally, dont think SC: Double Agent comes close to MGS4 in terms of quality, storytelling..even gameplay.. it was also a port onto the current gen consoles, and was specifically design...
I cant wait for Forza 4! I really hope they add the option to put a more cosmetic add-on's when you customize your car. Granted some cars had optional fender flares/sideskirts/hoods, etc, but the only ones that were available for all cars were the Forza 3 original spoilers. It would be really cool if they had a body kit editor kinda like NFS Carbon, where you can create and mold your own bodykits to really have original looking designs!
In regards to the article, Homefronts "failure" is deserved by THQ and Kaos. Why? Because they had a great concept for a story, and "allegedly" worked with John Milius (co-wrote "Apocolypse Now") to create the story portion of the game, and given today's software marvels we expected, if nothing else, to have a graphically attractive game. Kaos failed on ALL levels. they squandered what couldve been an epic story arch, on a 4-5 hour campaign that is SOOOO ef...

This is Just my Opinion here, but even if you are thinking of picking up Homefront just for the MP I'd say better off to rent it first, or at least buy it preowned if you can (so you can return for credit if you want).
I like my MP online shooters, and if BFBC2 and COD are the benchmarks for console MP shooters, I don't really feel like Homefront holds a candle to either game. there are only 2 game types.. team deathmatch and a "dominiation" style capture...
Definitely no less than 4-5 hours for the campaign, I agree. I do find the MP to be the shining star in the game (and the only "shining" anything really),but I'd much rather play COD or BFBC2 (I'm a big fan of both of those games) online, than play Homefront. I think COD and BFBC2 have much more solid gameplay. Also, I just can't get past the horribly ugly graphics. When I first popped this game in, I actually double checked my console and TV output settings... sure...
Interesting article. But I think the author is forgetting that core gamers still exist, despite the success of casual games over the last few years. It's obvious Rockstar & Team Bondi are aiming at the core gaming crowd with LA Noire.
The folks that just wanna point n'shoot or swing a wii-mote everywhere won't have the patience for this game, but I know I will!
Even if it does cop some stuff from RDR, I still can't wait!

Anyone heard if there are any console exclusives for this game like dlc, weapons, missions, etc? Not sure which console to buy this for (please don't give me the whole "the graphics are better on this console" line.. I can't tell the difference with multi-plats)

Being banned from the forums for 72 hours is one thing, but being denied access to a game YOU PAID FOR for any amount of time is complete BS.
