I'm not worried.. already pre-ordered for my 360 to ensure I get the "Back to Karkand" expansion pack on day 1 :)
We all know it's not gonna look like the PC on our playstations and xbox's.. But I really think that BC2 was a great looking game, graphically, and I'm sure that DICE will improve upon those visuals as well as they can. As far as people being concerned that the destruction won't be as grand as in BC2, I wouldn't be worried abou...
That was my exact thought when I read this article..
What is this author talking about?!?!? I get the impression from reading this that he has no clue how to approach a BC2 match.. He talks about it like he dropped BC2 in his machine and tried to play it like Call of Duty. Like for example, when he complains that the maps are too big and the vehichles don't play as big a role as in past BF games.. obviously he hasn't figured out to spawn at his teams base, where vehichles regenerate. Or when he says the gun physics are too real...make...
I'll sell you my wife for a one year subscription to XBL.. any takers??
I'm pretty frugal when It comes to buying games. The only games I buy brand new for full retail are the games that I've been waiting for and are reaqlly looking forward to. Having said that, that means that this fall, between October and December I know I'm gonna be spending at least $180 on my "must have on day 1" games like Uncharted 3, Forza 3, and Battlefield 3..
Generally though, I'm not a collector or keeper of most games. I have a colle...
This guy is a total tool, imo. Why do these gamer-babies always complain that every new game that comes out isn't "new" and "innovative"? Who cares.. IS IT FUN!?!?
Nah.. I think the console versions will be fine. They will more than likely be improved over BC2's graphics (which I thought were pretty awesome).
I think EA and DICE are only showing off the PC footage only, because that way they can maximize profits by letting the ever fickle PC community know that this is built specifically for the PC, while taking advantage of the fact that it WILL sell on consoles as well.. especially when many folks that aren't really "...
dude, shut the eff up.. If you're gonna go trolling all day, at least be clever or sarcastic about it. If not, just go back to fellating Jack Tretton under his desk and keep quiet.
you suck
Well if everyone in your "school" plays video-games I think you might be missing out on the deomraphic that author is talking about. I don't think he means school aged adults between 18-21, but rather older, professional adults of between the 30's-50's age range..
I tend to agree with him in that respect, that a stigma does exist if you are that age and enjoy games.. My friends and I are all in our early 30's (and have been gaming forever!) and ou...
I think IW does much better technical work with the CoD engine. CoD4 and MW2 look great graphic and texture wise, whereas WaW and BOp's look pretty ugly by comparison.
I do hope that "one of the things IW would never do" in a CoD game is revamp the COD points currency based level-up system that they got going in Black Ops. I've become really accustomed to that instant gratification of outfitting my weapons with everything I want as soon as i unlock them...
I'm a huge fan of both CoD and Battlefield, but I gotta disagree there. Maybe it's more Black Ops than other CoD games, EVERY time I play a game of BL Ops there are very young (as in under age 12) sounding voices in my earpiece, and most of 'em are talking about things you'd expect a kid under 12 to talk about.. they are all online with their friends either talking about school drama and pizza parties, or being racist, sexist, and pretending they smoke a ton of weed and drink...
@ JellyJelly above: Funny you should mention Metro2033. I just picked it up for $20 at Gamestop over the weekend. that game only got 7-ish review scores and it's awesome.. one of the coolest post apocalyptic survival-horror games i've ever played. The atmosphere and tension in that game are unparrallelled IMO..reminds me of the earlier Silent Hill games that were on Ps1/2.. I Can't wait for Metro: Last light..
Yea, to qualify for the veteran unlocks in BC2 you need to own a few other battlefield games.. I think when you sign up for a veteran account, the system figures your "veteran rank"
by scanning your HD/game saves and locating save data from other Battlefield games. I previously owned Battlefield:modern Combat, BF:1943, and the original Bad Co 1, so I guess I qualified for veteran status with those three titles...
I guess if you really want that M1 Garan...
This is probably a pretty unpopular vote, but for me Homefront was one of the biggest 'flops' of this year so far.. I had highly anticipated that game, and after playing the campaign for an hour I already wanted my money back.. I thought the Multiplayer was just "meh." I'd rather play BF:BC2 or CoD multiplayer over Homefront anyday. Nonsense overly-linear 'corridor' style campaign, mediocre online MP, all topped with Friendly Characters that you want to put a bul...
I think it's great that DICE are acknowledging long time BF fans with the Veteran unlocks. What other franchise gives you anything for previously owning other games in that franchise? I mean how many people own all the CoD games? And another one of those comes out every year and the only thing IW/Treyarch/ACtivision is offering in return for your support and patronage is a slew of extra maps at $15 a piece.
OFF TOPIC: (but relevant i suppose) Anyone ever play Splinter ...
Everyone here who keeps saying "SR has all the fun that GTA had" or "GTA was a way better game and SR looks stupid" is missing a much bigger point. SR and GTA CAN CO-EXIST TOGETHER AND BOTH SELL MILLIONS AND HAVE HUGE FANBASES!!!
Why do only 1/3rd of the people here get that!? Both games will sell plenty of copies on thier own merits... GTA doesn't need dildo bats and squid launchers to be a better game.. and SR doesn't need realistic physics an...
Honestly, I really hope they avoid NYC, LA, and Las Vegas in MOST games from here on out.. out of all of videogaming's locations, if the setting isn't a fictional town/city (like Stillwater or Sunnyvale) it's either a rendered replica of NYC, LA, or Vegas.
If they want to stick with GTA 5 being set in a major American city, how about one that's not in EVERY single game based on a real location?... Chicago? Houston/Austin? Memphis? Atlanta? Boston?
I really hope Rockstar keeps the darker and more realistic tone they honed in GTA4. That game was realisitc, but it had tons of humor and sarcasm abound in the dialouge and the amazingly detailed environment. If gamers want a less serious, less realistic sandbox crime offering let them have Saints Row.
Other responsibilities include "monotoring map making competitions" ?!?! Will BF3 have a MAP EDITOR!?!?! ohhhh that would be EPIC!!
