I played Mass Effect 2 on ps3, having never played or even seen anything of the first game. I didn't feel too left out, and was easy enough to figure out what was going on most of the time. The only lost really was that I didn't have a connection with the Normandy. I also didn't care anything about Liara/Ash/Kaiden/Wrex. How can I care about characters I never really met? But after beating the game I loved it so much I decided to play the first on PC. It's kinda of a double-ed...
Now that's rather depressing. It's cool that they have a line of decent-quality 'action figures' (toys, some would say) inline for it, since some people like that, but exclusive ingame content? Now if this is bonus is the equivalent to getting a characters "Loyality Skin" like in Mass Effect 2, early without having to finish their mission to unlock it, that wouldn't be so bad. But if this is going to include content held on the disc that cannot be obtained throug...
Hmm. Interesting watch, though he didn't touch a subject I often wonder about. Which so many games using these interactive, HD, or cinematic loading screens (Mass Effect 2 for example with its sort of looping-video of a loading screen) would these games actually load a little quicker if the loading screens were 'downgraded' to being nothing more than a black screen with text saying "loading"?
Im sure if the console didn't have to render/play out the...
Personally I wish pre-order bonuses were all just time-exclusives. Like preorder from such-n-such, get instant access to a exclusive armor that will be free to download to everyone in 3 months. That'd make a nice balance, since people who care about a game enough to preorder get a nice bonus, but at the same time it doesn't punish people who didn't preorder by restricting the content.
Why are pictures of "binary domain" inbetween some of those screenshots? A tad bit misleading lol
What I'd rather know if this mean's people who preordered Collector's edition may get gimped out of some game-content so that someone who get's the normal version from a special retailer. If you bought the Collector's edition, it should include every bit of extra 'exclusive' content any other retail can offer for preordering the normal version of the game.
I have to mention this, as someone who was a customer of Gamefly for years, I really don't see anything 'new' about this feature. For as long as I had Gamefly, the service was always lacking. If you wanted a game, really wanted it, you had to make sure it was the only game on your list or else they'll surely send you whatever you had added on on the bottom of the list as a "meh I'll give it a shot" game instead of that "huzzah!" game that you can't ...
I also purchased the PS3 version, PSN Download though. I have all the DLC, so this isn't a issue for me. I'm just asking for those who haven't purchased it. The article here said exactly that the game on sale now "includes all of the DLCs that was released for the title" - Im wondering if they've rebundled the game since I bought it, because when I got the game it didn't come with a few of the less essential DLCs (weapon, armors, uniforms, obviously not Arrival ...
It's a fantastic bargain, but are they sure you get ALL the DLC? I mean, is it taking into account the weapon packs and alt uniforms for squad members? Either way, terrific deal for a terrific game.
Thank's for the heads up on that, Joey.
So... it's basically a three paragraph, quick summery of the demo. The same demo that has been shown, in full length video several times before on N4G in the past. The same demo that received dozens upon dozens of "hands on" articles.
As much as I deeply envy this person for having the privilege of enjoying this demo, this isn't really anything new for people who have been following the news on ME3. The only thing remotely new that I noticed was mention of ...
I'm really starting to get more than a little annoyed with the apparent fad some article columnist are having recently with the whole "it just doesn't fit" for Mass Effect... How does multiplayer NOT fit. It's a full on galactic war. Uncharted 2, now there's something seemed like it really didn't make sense for multiplayer (yet was a blast to play). It was a puzzling, platforming adventure game. Having multiplayer in that didn't sound like it belong. Didn'...
Glad to see Megami Tensei isn't all forgotten. :D
Parents shouldn't be buying these age-restricted games for them in the first place. But in todays world, who finds time to actually be a informed parent? If its this bad now, I wonder what the next generations will be like. Scary thought.
Great article, agree with all of it. I will add one more to the list though...
Myth 6 -
Teabagging is a sign of epic skill.
There are just so, so, so, so, so many 14 year old's in shooter games that think dipping their undescend virtual crotch over the dead corpse of some enemy (sometimes ally) and bragging about it through loud obnoxious screams over the headset (usually consisting of the new naughty word they learned in school they think makes ...
Anyone have a working video link? I'd like to hear this "hilarious commentary"
I'm one of the few who's excited over this news, glad they didn't let the the pessimist deter them from including something like this. Also, its co-op, even better. Can't wait for ME3 release.
Okay - I'll be the slowpoke fool who has to ask - how are you still playing the Uncharted beta? I thought the beta went off... a while ago. I went to redownload it after the reading of this article and can't find it on either the US or UK psn store... Is this a Playstation Plus membership exclusive or something? I thought the beta was only private at first for PSN+, but then went public. So, did it go back to being private or what am I missing here?
Yeah, online pass, that sucks for used gamers, and even people who purchase new if its one of those damn things that need you to enter a code. More importantly than all that though - awesome Mass Effect will have multiplayer. I still find it depressing that ME2 didn't have it. I loved that game but, after beating it four times and doing two Insanity runs... I wanted more from it but it was getting a bit dull after a while. Multiplayer would had expanded the gameplay hours by tons. I'm...
First the figurines and now this? This is getting a bit crazy, even for EA.
