Cloud computing cannot make fidelity better based on the current infrastructure for internet service in the US. There is far too much lag, no amount of servers MS or Sony puts up is going to change that. The cloud will be used for small background things that lag would not impede. People thinking the graphics will be somehow better are dreaming, it's just a fact that with current technology improving fidelity will not work to the extent people believe it will. It is too variable and t...

The problem with your stance is people who know about tech can get exactly what you are looking for, for a fraction of the cost. WiFi Blu-Ray players are around $100 dollars, which have access to everything the one will have, but you don't have to pay an extra fee to access it. Smart TV's have the motion stuff the one will have for a little more than the one, but you get a TV as a bonus. Most people I know want a console for one thing, to play games. Anyone who is smart knows how ...

Why can't I just sell my game myself? No need to involve MS or their restrictions at all. I'm sick of people being okay with what MS is doing. If I buy a car, shirt, movie, CD, shoes, tires, TV or hell anything I can then resell it to whomever I want for however much I want. Why are video games different, the simple answer is they are not. The video game industry is making more money than they ever have. I read a great article about over inflated budgets and the inability of game...

Thank you for your reply and I respect your stance, but won't someone have to download the whole game in order to play it first? MS has not been clear on that part yet so while yes it would be nice to theoretically go to a friends and not have to bring a disc, you would have to wait for them to download the whole game. Whereas with the PS4, you have the disc and can instantly play it. Streaming a game is not quite there yet, look at onlive, some games are too laggy to play and enjoy. ...

I'm curious as to what you mean by show its age next gen. From what I understand the ps4 will have ddr5 which is newer and faster from a technical standpoint than the ddr3 the one will have. Also is seems that the one is $100 more, but it has older hardware. Please explain what you meant by show its age.

I agree the games line up for MS was impressive, but I think Sony knew that MS had to show their entire hand. Sony still has a bunch of cool things to announce I am sure. Sony has played the reveal like a chess game. They backed MS into a corner with their initial reveal back in February. That caught MS completely off guard and the push back of the reveal and the reveal itself proves that. Now MS has nothing new to announce going into the release of the One, whereas Sony still has some p...

I get what you are saying, but you failed to acknowledge that the user base back in the NES days was much smaller compared to that of today. There is a much larger pool to draw from and if the prices keep going up for games with more restrictions and less quality (patches post launch, Bethesda games on consoles) then the market will crash and it can't sustain the user base of today. Companies like to look at their user base and determine the best way to nickel and dime you. They come o...

I would not call it short sighted, it's more like a smart business move. More money in their pocket because you have to get a whole new controller. That being said, I have had mine for six years and it still works perfectly fine. Not to mention they charge incredibly fast and it lasts a very long time as well. It's fully charged in less than 20 mins. I would say your comment is short sighted, not Sony.

When I go to read an opinion piece by someone and they can't spell a grammatically correct sentence then that tells me they are not smart and therefore have nothing of importance to say. "May found this" moron.

Just tax Fox news every time they say something baseless and inflammatory. That alone would solve America's debt problem.

@N2NOther, here ya go. This is actually directed at the author of the article.

Your reading too much into things. Like the coin flip you mention at the beginning of your article, it doesn't matter what his name is. It all boils down to the lighthouse, the man and the city. You nit pick on something, but only after you answer your own question about it. How is a name different from a coin flip? Why do we all make the choices we do? Do we really have a choice if there are an ...

It's a very simple explanation. This character is not snake, solid snake. It's something / someone different and it has to do with the story. It wouldn't be so without a reason behind it. We all know the crazy stories Kojima comes up with and just because it looks like snake does not mean there is'nt something up Kojima's sleeve.

Your comment makes no sense. You can get the Amazon price whenever as well at Best Buy negating a need to wait for the mail service. I love that people disagree with facts. I guess whatever makes you fell better.

You just tried to call someone RETARDED and you spelled it retarted, I haven't not laughed that hard in a long time. Ah, American educational system, just have to love it.

Which bestbuy will now match, so you don't have to wait for the mail. Also no tax depends on which state you live in, not true in all cases. I would rather get it same day than have to wait.

@Logicwins

Steam will never ever be bought by MS. Steam is the antithesis to MS's business model. On it's own Valve is a billion dollar company, they don't need to sell and Gabe Newell has publicly said MS has too many restrictions. It would be cool, but the business models are complete opposites and MS loves having things locked down and under their direct control.

Take a look at Valves profits and their stock, then compare that to Sony and MS. Then come and try to tell me they shouldn't be worried. MS only has 3 to 4 exclusives you can't play anywhere else, Sony has more, but look at the overall sales of those titles which in the big picture are poor. Hard drives can crash just the same on consoles by the way, not to mention did you forget the YLOD and RROD fiascos? Learn about market shares and stock values t...

They should be worried because new games are so cheap on Steam. I just got Hitman absolution for 25 bucks and it looks way better on the PC than the consoles. Most newer games go on sale within a month or two of release on steam and if you wait for their annual sale you can literally buy a years worth of games for under 100 US and they look way better on the PC. You would spend over a 1,000 buying the same games on a console and they look and perform worse. I love my PS3 but at the price ...
