I'm pretty sure this is like Dante's Inferno (another EA game) where ALL retail PS3 copies are the "limited edition". They're just calling it that because the PS3 version contains content not on the other systems (presumably due to Blu-Ray's enormous storage capacity).
That's a pretty awesome bonus, IMHO. I think it's a shame more reviews have not mentioned it, because it was surprisingly cool, considering what a-holes EA are with respect to...
"remember that in order for the gaming industry thrive we must buy games.i understand that we are in a recession and must find other means to buy games."
NO. What you mean is that: for the games industry to thrive the developer's and publisher's must deliver $60 or more worth of value to the consumers when they are asking for $60 for a product, right?
The video games BUSINESS is a $25 BILLION dollar industry in the US as of 2009 not some kin...
@maxcer:
I'm with you, man. But FYI in reference to your GoW3 comment. That's one of the awesome things about Gamefly, they discount their prices on used stuff MUCH faster than Gamestop. I picked up GoW3 from them for $23 delivered. Their Gamefly rewards dollars loyalty program is great, too, because it translates into serious discounts on an already low price.
"I don't think games offer too little content. Look at movies; blu-rays, as far as I know, are never cheaper than $20,"
You pay $20 for BD movies? LOL... What are you retarded? Unless you're buying DVDs/Blu-rays day one there's no need to pay more than $9 for a movie in any format.
Seriously, consumers need to stand up for themselves. It's $60 games today, it'll be $60 game + $15 DLC + $5/mo subscription tomorrow. Just say "...
He makes some great points and even fails to mention yet another upside to his strategy. Avoiding the DLC nonsense/raping. By lagging release dates on stuff you DO decide to buy by a long period, you can get the "GotY" edition with all of that DLC everyone paid ten bucks a pop for usually at a total package price lower than the original game by itself.
As long as it isn't a multiplayer game where it has a "hot" window where you can easily get online m...
The PSP is an RPG BEAST. The popularity in Japan is obviously keeping this going... It's a dream handheld for JRPG fans.
It might be worth it to get a PSP+Component out cable if you are a big JRPG fan! :)
Dual analog is absolutely make or break for the PSP2, IMHO. If they're going for the "high end console on the go" experience like they did with the original PSP, it will NOT be an optional feature on this go-round for consumers in NA and Europe, cross platform ports are just too clunky to map for both the developers and consumers.
If it has Dual analogs, it will be a DAY ONE for me. But, even as a HUGE PSP fanboy, I might consider passing on it entirely if they ...
Bloggers are retarded: They say the PSP doesn't have enough buttons/controls and then they hype systems without any dedicated controls at all. Personally, I want my next GAMING handheld to have as close to a one to one mapping to a dual shock 3 or x360 controller as physically possible.
I have an android phone but do not consider it a gaming device at all. Two or three games is enough for my phone because I'd have to be trapped in an elevator or something to even cons...
Articles like this are a great example of why Blogs are a double edged sword. Not only does this guy have no data to back up his claims he doesn't even form a logical argument. For the most part, he simply makes a couple of blind assertions and then draws a conclusion based on things he made up. Completely and utterly moronic.
The mapping in RE and Time Crisis is highly relevant to the review, though. It's indicative of the problems all of these "gun" peripheral's are going to have. The majority of buttons are all on top of the move device. Once you mount a move wand horizontally you are boned in terms of reaching the top controls which virtually every shooter on the planet makes extensive use of. I'm trying to imagine how you could possibly play MAG with this thing and it would be much worse ...
In a capitalist economy it ain't saturated until the market says its saturated. If you don't like it: buy other stuff... it's not like video games are a cottage industry like they were in the 80s/90s anymore. It's that simple! :)
Or bluetooth. I have several BT mice/KB just sitting around the house.
If you think that aiming with a mouse or move is anything like aiming with a gun, you've probably never fired one, IMHO. Real weapons are actually very tolerant of micro movements of the hand or wrist especially if you've been taught how to shoot properly.
Neither are realistic but a mouse RAPES the move as an FPS controller.
@Gamer411: Have you actually played MAG w/ a move, yet? It blows.
I went out and bought Haze used when I first got my PS3 after playing the demo not being aware of any of the hype. It was a fun game, IMHO, if you didn't take it too seriously. Having only paid $10 for it, I was super happy with it. :)
I guess if I had been aware of the hype I might have been disappointed. But then again maybe not, because to me, "Halo Killer" does not set the bar that high, I think Halo is terribly overrated. :) I've probably logged as many...
I just bought L4D 2 on Steam for $6 and change...
I don't think I'd shell out $60 just to have it on the PS3. Like others have said, given it's age and the fact that a lot of us have PCs and 360s, too, we've had the option of playing it elsewhere for a long time... it'd have to bring a lot of extra content to the table to be worth a full standard retail price.
Plus, I think G. Newell is an ASS for all the crap he's talked about Sony/P...
The Syphon Filter PSP games are sex on wheels.
If you like stuff like VC2, the PSP is like a portable dream system. The US publishers are averaging one AAA title every 3-6 months on it, but the JRPGs are flourishing like never before. Heck, it's probably the #1 system available for new quality JRPGs, right now.
I have about 50 UMDs. Yhey're very difficult to fit in my pocket.
BFBC2 may be my favorite shooter of ALL TIME for multiplayer mode. I freaking love it.
The pacing is just perfect for my personal tastes: The mix of tactical/team based play combined with fast action just rocks. It's not so fast that it feels like acompletely contrived COD/MW kill streak/akimbo/commando knife style shooting gallery but it's not so slow that it ever feels like it's bogged down or ruining your adrenaline buzz. The weapons and classes are just so we...
