Wii = toy.
PS3 = toy.

That would be more accurate. The only difference is that the PS3 will play Blu-Rays, but you know what, I will take my Blu-Ray player (not a PS3) any day over the PS3 for my entertainment needs any day.
Sorry, but if you take a gaming console as anything other than a toy, then you are mistaken.
The wii is the only console of the 3 to offer something different enough to justify itself to me.

Besides, since when is 1080p the best there is? PCs have been playing games at much higher resolutions for many years. Oh and just in case you are wondering, it has nothing to do with the compression technology known as Blu-Ray.
I still don't understand why people believe BR to be some sort of second coming. It is nothing more than just a new compression/laser technology that is it.

Actually I don't. I like gaming at high resolutions (ie. Much higher that your 1080p) and that is why I have a nice PC and not a PS3.
You claim there are no good games for the wii, and will also disagree with you there. Maybe there are no games that appeal to you, but that doesn't mean there are no good games for the wii. Much like there are no games for the PS3 that appeal to me, and if there are any, I am sure it is because there are better versions of it available for the PC (...

Maybe, and I may be crazy, so that wii owners can play the game? That sounds like good enough a reason to release on the wii. I would buy it. No, I wouldn't buy the game for any of the other consoles because I don't own the other consoles, and I don't plan on owning the other consoles (My PC is where I get my FPS gaming and stuff). I would buy the game for my console, but would not buy a console for the game...

I see myself replacing my 8800GTXs in SLI for the new HD4870 X2. Only thing that kinda puts me off is the little overclocking headroom that card seems to have (X2).

What I don't understand is why you would sell your wii for card money? I am perfectly happy with mine, and I do tend to upgrade often.
You do realize that the first batch of Blu-Rays out there were just mere up samplings of existing DVDs right? Something your player should do for you for FREE!!! So I don't see how you got any advantage when the technology was first introduced.
Maybe, just maybe uncompressed PCM, but beyond that, I don't see how a Blu-Ray gave you better picture back then.
If you sell your (imaginary) wii because it doesn't play DVDs you maybe bought it for the wrong reasons to begin with? I mean, do you know how silly that sounds?

At the present time, it would make sense because of the price of a Blu-Ray player might be too much money to justify for anyone who already owns a PS3. In the future when these players come down in price to where DVD players are right now, then that will not be the case anymore.
I own a dedicated Blu-Ray player (not a PS3), so I don't need the wii to play back DVDs. It would be silly.
