The GC itself was more powerful than the PS2, so why would it surprise you to see the wii rendering cut scenes from the PS2?
Anyway, I do hope the game does come to the wii, with decent controls. Nintendo is perfectly capable of delivering action games with great controls, so if they put the time and effort, the game will be successful.
When you realize that the same engine can behave differently on different platforms. What this means is that the engine is smart enough to know what to optimize for its target platform, much like some compilers give you the option to optimize your code for 32/64 bit processors, etc.
Don't be surprised if the engine has optimizations for PS3, 360/PC, and wii, just be glad that this means that games can be developed for all platforms if there is a market for them.
I don't care if they release a version of it for my cell phone, so long as they release a version of it for the wii. I would love to play this game!
What they claim is that their new engine/Gfx API is capable of supporting all existing platforms (360, PS3, wii, PC, etc), but that does not necessarily mean that they will, or that all it takes is a simple re-compile to get the game ported from one console to the other, unless, it is developed in that way.

I can't play UT on the wii, but I can play it on my PC, so I am covered. 3rd party developers will be successful on the wii if they make good games (RE4 and GH3 come to mind...).

What a beautiful game this is. While the graphics on this game aren't the best seen on the wii, it is none the less a beautiful game to look at. The art style, the imagery, etc, it proves there was a lot of love poured into the development of this game. Great job!

I already got a Blu-Ray player and it isn't a PS3. I purposely got the player and not the PS3 because it goes better with my receiver and etc. not to mention that the decoding chip is better on the stand alone player.
For shooters there is not substitute for the PC, so at least one (me) wii owner will not get a PS3 for the player. I might still get one when they are worth $200, but not before.

Wii software sold more than every other console, including DS...
...That is impossible since soccer moms, old people and kids don't buy software, not to mention that 3rd party developers don't sell anything for the wii. Clearly Nintendo is somehow making up these numbers...

Do you have a detailed performance analysis of how the two consoles run the game? What the memory bandwidth requirements are? The resulting overheating from playing the game? What processor optimizations are written into the game?
You know that a simple 10 liner program if written with that purpose could bring the PS3, or any computational machine to its knees right?

Maybe we need to have a "fanboy" section with sub-sections for "_console_name_here_ lovers" and for "_console_name_here_ haters_." That way everyone will always get to love/bash their favorite console with their friends.
would not be against the whole concept of the wii. In fact, I would welcome a USB keyboard for the wii since it would make browsing the Internet much easier. As for Nintendo not knowing what the internet is, well, I would have to disagree there. The browser included in the wii, is pretty good and you get a browsing experience very similar to that of your regular PC browser, FOR FREE!!!
