because that never (sarcastic) happens with any Playstation or Xbox articles, come on man get real.
I loved that game growing up... I wish SquareEnix would pull a remake... but then again it's SquareEnix, so I don't really count on much.
No, no one wants to smell Rosie O'Donald after a soccer match, people still want an Xbox... maybe just not at $400.
It's just a step, a necessary step, but next they have to show and prove that their games/gaming will be the reason to own the system. They still need that differentiator...
Great article. As a new father, I can't wait to play video games with my daughter some day. It bothers me to see or hear about how many gamers feel like they are "above" any game under an M rating. But to me it's like disregarding any G or PG movie because the believe they only marketed to "kids" when in reality they are open to everyone... it's not like movie theaters say you have show an ID or be under 4 feet to watch a Pixar movie. If a game is fun, its ...
I swear for every positive Nintendo article or review, there's two negative spin or bummer articles to counter it.
I would say "help" not "save"
"Xbox One now is nothing like what it was planned to be from the start." And neither was the PS3 when first revealed... and it turned out to be just fine.
It's the first system I haven't bought at launch in long time. $500 is just too much especially at launch. $400 is mentally much easy to dish out for, especially since I'm a sucker for Halo.
Agreed, the days of buying a system JUST for 1st party titles is long gone, no matter how good they are.
@MrTehDiNGO billions in yen, yes, billions in dollars, umm no. #swingandamiss
I knew waiting that out was the right way to go!
I have to respectfully disagree. The days of a single game spiking console sales for a long period of time is long gone. Look at the successful consoles of the past 3 generations, Playstation 2 and 1 had game after game of niche and popular titles hit one after another. The Wii had a string of party/causal games that gathered mass amount of interest from new and causal gamers. Look no further than TitanFall and Super Mario 3DW, these caused a very temporary spike for their respective cons...
I think we should take a step back and be appreciative that someone reviewed the game outside a closed environment. Take the vita bias out of it ( and yes I have vita, it's fantastic portable). Isn't the point if knowing whether a game is enjoyable or in this case playable before purchasing? I know I would have appreciated just ONE major review of BF4 for the PS4 before I bought that insanely broken game.
Nice blog, I'm in complete agreement. There seems to be "we're entitled to everything" stance here, at least in the states. Could there be more representation of homosexuals, african-americans, or even strong female leads in video games, sure, but that could be said of all forms of media. That being said, people of different walks/views in life are noted entitled to be represented digitally. Besides it's not like Nintendo said we don't want homosexuals playing ou...
This is probably the best "enlightened" article I've read on Nintendo's current company position. There's no doom and gloom, there's no they "have" to go to mobile, create a more powerful console, or go 3rd party baseless opinions. Bottom line is the console producing video game market is an extremely thin margin market now. Since the establishment of HD gaming, costs and losses have been steadily rising. The big 3 can no longer count on console sales a...
While most 1st person shooters are realitively short, and are back loaded with MP, I think games are just simplier now. I am by no means one those gamers who plows through the hardest setting with ease, but it seems many action/western rpgs I can just breeze through without even trying (Dark Souls/Demon Souls being the exception). I breezed through GTA, Infamous, Tomb Raider, South Park, Ryse. I understand there's the obvious tacted on side-quest stuff, but it rarely seems to add anyt...
How is the home division Nintendo most secure division? Their dedicated handheld gaming has had a near monopoly since the release of the original game boy. Has mobile gaming taken away market share, of course, but it has from home console gaming too. PSNow has a lot to prove, being the first major cloud based gaming sevice is going to have major up hill battle most of which is out of Sony's control. Internet IPs are going to bottleneck the heck out internet services as demand and st...
@mikeslemonade sour grapes much? How is the Wii U's generation debatable, because if i count from 1 to 8 (in terms of generations) not too many numbers repeat themselves.
Let's not forget Sony did the exact same thing in essentially the exact same time frame with the PS3 launching the 80gig model $100 cheaper with motorstorm included. I don’t recall too many people seeking legal action against Sony at the time, if anything a got Playstation competitive with the 360. Let's not act like this some outrageous grievance that's never happened before. Companies offer better deals on products all the time, it's called capitalism.
