I haven’t played this yet myself, been wanting to get around to it, and d@mn - $40 with all content and next gen upgrades sure hits a sweet spot for me. But yea, I would also be pissed if I were $80-90 in already and got this news, knowing those updates are incoming to newbies at half the price of what you paid and supported early on. Nintendo has proven you can have a successful generation on your “own terms” if said company were to have a commitment to quality, brand identity, launch when ready, and have great content exclusive to the brand. If MS had commitment to their fans and launched everything when games and the system are at their highest quality point, they could still deliver on a great generation sales-wise. But that does’t really seem to be what they’re brewing these days over there at Xbox at the moment...

I imagine a lot of games from MS going forward we’re going to take this route. Launch unfinished games like Sea of Thieves, then patch and patch until it’s playable/enjoyable. That is the definition of GAAS to me. Outlook based on these types doesn’t look great IMO
Why launch the new hardware with nothing to justify owning it? It’s the reason I’m not rushing out to buy an 8k tv. There’s not enough native content to make it even worth considering. I wish MS would wait until what they have is ready then come out swinging. PS3 and Nintendo have proven you don’t have to launch at the same time as the other console makers to have a successful generation. Wish MS understood this and wasn’t rushing to meet Sony at the “starting line” empty-handed
Very true, I do commend delays for the sake of game quality in general. However, now there is truly no launch titles to go alongside the SeriesX launch. Definitely no BIG reasons to pick up the new console Day1 unless it’s to play what you already own - sounds like lame PR to me. Especially since I’ve got PCs and a OneX already.
I would rank them in the exact order they were released. The Original is what sent me over the roof for Xbox, got all my friends to get one for system link, played in some Halo Tourneys. Everything since the 1st has been enjoyable, yet slightly less exciting with each iteration in my experience. 5 being my least favorite(story-wise). Can’t wait to see what the reboot can do to revitalize the series to me, the recent demo didn’t inspire much confidence at this point, but I’ll wait to see the f...

Hope Sony made enough on this to support SP’s next 2-3 projects. GoT is so good I can’t bring myself to rush through it like most other games.

However you look at it, that’s an unforgettable generation of titles to have put out. Sony’s has EARNED our trust, my money will be there day 1 to see and support the future of games they have in store. Super grateful, still working on my platinum of GhostsOT.
I need to start Detroit again. Started it with the wifey, she fell off early and I hadn’t made it back. Loved what I played it! Branching storylines make it super intriguing to run through these types a couple times.
