I don’t think they’re out of touch, I think they’ve put extra hard work into the remaster adding upgrades and it’s not a simple port up. You shouldn’t feel slighted or entitled to an upgrade to something you bought and enjoyed more than 2 years ago now. If you want the remaster get it, if not I’m sure PS5 will still apply boosted performance to the original without repurchasing the game. It’s really not that big a deal.
Several studios would make a nice splash and fitting additions to Sony’s 1st party lineup...Remedy, Konami, FromSoft, Capcom, THQNordic, BluePoint, or Sega just to name a few. It’s not the same, do a graphics/gameplay comparison between the Craig(Halo) trailer and Miles Morales, they are both cross-gen titles, but they’re also miles apart(pun intended) in the those departments. One was in dire need of big delay, the other is ready for day one release. I wish Sony’s intentions were more forward but at least they didn’t show up with products that look like boo boo, and it was done to Xbox’ primary mascot. If a film is bad, I’m not qualified to speak on it until I’ve made an honest attempt to watch it. Same goes with games. I’m sold on Sony bringing the goods as usual, but I’ll be there day1 for both new consoles as usual, even if it’s to talk crap if I don’t enjoy the new experience. That said, new generations are exciting, I was lucky enough to catch pre-orders for both a Ps5 and SeriesX. November will be epic. Demon Souls will be mine 1st and foremost.
Doom, Dishonored, and Wolfenstein were the only series I cared about. They can keep everything else personally.

Yea but Sony also grew the majority of its studios organically, thoughtfully, purposefully, and over time. Microsoft is just throwing fistfuls of money at its lack of exclusives problem between generations, buying an entire publisher and hoping that resolves all their slacking for the last gen and a half. Outside of saying they believe in generations, when did Sony specifically ever announce SM: Miles Morales or Horizon sequel were PS5 exclusive? Just curious if there’s a legitimate source to any of outrage here. Demon Souls and R&C look next gen and aren’t coming to PS4. I think Sony is providing next gen goods while simultaneously not alienating and leaving behind their existing fans completely. Not sure what the issue is...

Believing in generations doesn’t mean cutting off 120+million players in the playstation ecosystem cold turkey launch day of the new gen either. I fully expected some big games to still be cross gen while others that take advantage of the new hardware stay exclusive to the new hardware. It already did/does. Sony just doesn’t market PS Now as the ONLY reason to own their consoles. Much better library of games overall, and now you can download crap ton of titles, just like gamepass. Same difference, better games IMO...

Nah, my guess is PS5 will release simultaneously with the new CoD Cold War game on Nov13 with timed-exclusive content for PlayStation only. We’ve been hearing Sony is swinging for the fences with 3rd party deals this time around. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get a taste of that right out the gate.
It’s sad that people want huge generational graphical leaps between consoles but value keeps being thrown into the conversation. You want to see the future and leave your old plastic behind but you don’t want to open your wallet. If you want value, keep playing gamepass on your Xbox One S. I’m willing to pay good money for quality of life upgrades, and for games that won’t eventually run on a phone. That in itself is a great value to me.
