What I would find interesting too is not just a numbers comparison but a market by market comparison. It is my understanding that Sony does a better job of diversifying their market acceptance compared to MS. MS seems heavily weighted to US and UK markets and weaker in other markets. So although MS may be performing better than 360 they have not done as good a job of expanding beyond.
@Apocalypse I have to agree with your sentiment on the pattern seen all too often on upcoming games today. I can imagine NMS was delayed mostly for release near or with PSVR. Will he game be great? Who knows but I will reserve judgement till I see some actual streams of it. Review scores don't help me much. I am hopeful but won't buy right away.
I agree it will be a shorter lifespan than the previous PS3 / X360. Partly due to my assumption that the forthcoming consoles will be backwards compatible as I suspect the architecture will be similar as current being x86 based.
As an owner of both a PS4 and X1 I can tell you for every multi-plat I always purchase it on PS4. No question about it. PS4 has a better diversity of games IMO. So for me Ps4 was the winner. But I do like the X1 as well and MS has come a long way back from 2 years ago. I think 2016 will be a great year for gamers again. Cheers and Merry Xmas.
Had ROTR not been X1 exclusive this year I imagine SE would have delayed release of the title. MS wanted an answer to counter Uncharted 4 for the holiday season. In addition MS was marketing the best games lineup in XB history. So delaying the title's release was problematic. I think the exclusive arrangement cost MS money for no reason. MS would have had the same sales even without paying for exclusivity. Has Uncharted the Nathan Drake Collection performed better sales wise than ROTR? A...
Glad to hear it is good. I look forward to playing it next year on PS4. I own an X1 but due to backlog of current games I feel I can wait till next year to play.
Also tat particular McDonalds was warned on multiple occasions prior to the 'incident' that they were serving coffee which was 'too hot'. I know, still seems like a frivolous lawsuit, but is what contributed to the jury verdict. As for suing Bethesda, GL with that. The plaintiff is not going to win that case.
@Hoffmann if you don't like the prices then don't purchase the product. If the market won't support the price set then the product won't sell. Vote with your wallet. Complaining that a company set the price of their product to high sounds a bit whiny.
Consumers vote with their wallet. Clearly PS4 is the console of choice for more players than X1 and that trend has not reversed course. Clearly click bait article. I did not take the bait.
The problem is more Microsoft's than Square. They paid for exclusivity to help drive X1 sales. The jury is still out this holiday season how much this game will drive sales. Could MS have driven the same sales number without paying for the year exclusivity? If so, then it was a bad investment on their part. My suspicion is that had the game not been exclusive, MS would still have the same sales numbers as current and saved all that cash. Is ROTR that popular that gamers won't wait a y...
On the site for the review it states the following for review stars. It rates 2.5 not 2 as noted on the site. That places it as between Fair and Good on their scale.
Grades: ★★★★★ Outstanding; ★★★★ Very Good; ★★★ Good; ★★ Fair; ★ Poor.
However, I realize many will view this as a fail in terms of stars. There is no standard for ratings so from a marketing standpoint 2.5 out of 5 will seem like fail in most eyes. Frankly not sure I care for numbers or stars in ...
I will buy ROTR once it is on PC or PS4. I also own an X1 but feel no need to rush out and purchase this game at the moment as so many other games are keeping me occupied at the moment. As for all the articles from video game sites, well helps to give the game some free press from their perspective as it help MS keep the game in peoples minds. MS paid a substantial sum I imagine for the year exclusivity. Gaming sites sure don't want to bite the hand that feeds them. They surely don'...
Wish the sale included PC as well. Guess I will have to wait for Steam sale.
PS4 is also $19.99 on Amazon as per the article headline.
so far it runs pretty well on my PC. Have not tried console but I have read the articles of some stuttering and framerate issues on console. Hopefully Bethesda will resolve soon.
@Alexious "This is not about bugs, it's about frame rate." Huh? What are you talking about? Bugs are software defects, errors, or unexpected behavior for any host of reasons. That includes framerate not just game play. I expect some bugs just hoping not show stopping. Unfortunately Bethesda's track record is not all that great on launch bug wise. I own PC, PS4, and X1. I'll pay this title on PC but not having that I would have chosen PS4. Bethesda will make more money ...
So far have successfully implemented my own embargo this week. I am not reading or watching any substantive FO4 coverage at all hoping to avoid spoilers. At this point I have waited this long it makes no sense for me to sneak a peak. Picking up my PC copy first things Tuesday.
Agreed. Avoid spoilers mode. Game will hopefully be epic. PC play for me. I hope all platform players love it.
Yah definitely jealous of people having the game. Just over a week. I will enjoy the anticipation. Avoiding spoilers is my goal this week.
@Septic Well as an owner of a gaming PC and an X1 I would probably err towards a Windows 10 game than the X1 as my pc as much better performance. So there would be less need for me to buy a game for X1.
