Although not an X1 owner, I am sure MS will have a good E3. I would like to see more new IP coming though. It doesn't always feel like MS pushes the creativity envelope with the properties. I understand that once a franchise is established it is a basis for future games. Just would be interesting to see something totally new. They seem to stick with the known quantity more than take risks. The hyperbole is funny though, "the greatest games lineup in Xbox history". A little over ...

Although some people may put more emphasis on graphics than me or you I respect the idea of critical eyes on details in the game. Although in many respects I think platform companies companies and some studios don't want their product to be known as the least capable platform / title. Hence, such criticism can hep push companies to improve their products. Case in point, MS has invested considerable resources in maximizing their X1. If it were not in part for such 'negative' articl...

Excellent. Have a blast playing the game. I will be playing on PC but am glad my PS4 and X1 friends will have a similar experience.

I could not agree more. In this particular case I willbe playing on pc. I would have alternatively played on my PS4. But I am glad for all players X1, PS4, or PC to have the opportunity to enjoy what promises to be a great game. I like it that CDPR has put effort into optimizing the game for specific platforms versus going to common denominator route. Gameplay wise I suspect the experience will be the same for all.

I will be playing on PC but my alternative was PS4. Regardless of resolution differences I hope all players no matter the platform enjoy the game as much as I anticipate I will. Kudos to CDPR for attempting to bring the best gameplay experience to all platforms.

In context, yes, it matters. We as a consuming public no matter the product should not accept misleading advertising. Sure in the context of important things in life this ranks pretty low. However, MS was very happy to have their product (the X1) associated with the pc version albeit in a deceptive manner. With the core gaming public this only further serves to hurt their standing. Sounds like Sony has done similar with Batman recently. it is also deceptive and improper.

IMO, the issue here is the practice of deceptive marketing. MS and Sony have both used such practice in the past. I do find this practice of associating one's product with a demonstration not made with said product to be shameful. This is what marketing often does. Paint a picture in someone's head to boost the perception of a product. But when it is misleading such as this case it seems appropriate to me that they are called out on it. I think the core gamer audience would have wa...

Of course without direct evidence it is impossible to know if it was planned. But one can surely surmise that the practice paints a false picture as it relates to X1 performance and visual details and that MS marketing knows this. I have to imagine they know full well some ppl may interpret such game show cases by abutting X1 sponsorship of the event that some will make the connection that "oh what I just saw is available on X1". It is misleading by a lack of omission which I find h...

I am looking forward to checking out Windows 10. The integration with X1 is intriguing. I am not an X1 owner but nonetheless find this interesting. I wonder if a more unified approach to the X1 and Win10 platforms will translate to titles being released on both platforms regularly? That would be interesting. The game streaming from X1 to pc seems cool. Be nice if it also went the other way to display a pc game via X1 on the big screen.

This is more marketing driven damage control to thwart the widely held belief X1 is inferior to a core audience of 'gamers'. Why do we need constant reassurance that the console is 'as pwoerful'? We shall see what reality holds.

Pretty misleading for MS to post PC footage on their XBox channel. Glad they will have native controller support for pc. That must be why I saw the button prompts early in the video.

MS would not have apologized had this not been questioned. They may have been plenty happy to let the public believe this was X1 footage. It's a lie of omission not clearly stating this was pc footage on an X1 channel. Misleading. They were clearly questioned on the subject and felt they had to respond to the scrutiny.

@headblackman so you state "so if sony (who's not a very good software company) can do it, then why cant microsoft (who's one of the best if not the best software company)" How is it that Sony is not a good software company?

What do you base that on? Your considered opinion? That is a completely subjective comment. MS is the best software company? Really? Can we not list the many numerous awful iterations of the OS which have been released or other produ...

@Genuine-User I believe it is X1 footage. Unless this is pc with xbox controller support? The beginning of the video shows the controller button prompts on the lower right. I was under the impression this game went 'gold'. Meaning no additional dev changes on what will ship in the box. Of course perhaps a few optimizations are still in the queue which will be delivered as a day 1 patch? But since I am playing this on pc I am glad to see the pc footage as well.

I don't know if I was ever hard core but I did play a fair amount. As with many it was just too repetitive to keep me coming back. At this point I will probably not come back for the expansion. No sense throwing good money after bad. I'll wait till I actually see an interesting change to the game before spending more on it. Next month I'll be playing The Witcher 3.

gamespot has a 3 part series they are showing on the game. They speak to teh map size and density in the videos. So far they have released parts 1 and 2. Was fortunate to get this game as part of an nVidia gfx card purchase. Really looking forward to this game next month.

Nintendo has such an inflated ego. They may have rights to their content but their policy is misguided. Free advertising by Youtubers would benefit Nintendo sales. That's clearly a legal department living in the past. Good bye Nintentdo. The 90's called they need you.

i agree it remains to be seen. An healthy skepticism is a good thing. I also think some of the articles talking the game down have a tinge of sour grapes of the marketing deal with Sony. In classical physics, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Could it be that there is marketing and anti-marketing? I dunno. But I am cautious of what I read on both sides of this game. It's just too early to say. The trailer was impressive though, fwiw.
