@KNWS I have to generally agree with your observations. I own PC, X1, and PS4. PC is certainly the best from a performance perspective although it cost me much more money than the consoles even though I built it myself. On the flip side though often times PC games can be cheaper than console equivalent. PS4 is a really good console and it is my goto for console multiplats. X1 is okay. Not a bad device but not my preferred. I have spent almost no money on X1 titles to play outside of games...
Agreed. Amazing how many people complain about the delivery versus focus on the content of the message. Perhaps they should put themselves out there and make their own content if they can do better.
$150 for a controller? I find that price to be excessive. Is Elite a synonym for sucker?
How profitable is the XBox division for MS? If they lose money for MS on HW sales that may be of long term concern. Would MS ever consider selling the brand off? Probably not but the notion has been floated before in financial circles. Lots of pitfalls to losing the HW sales numbers to your competitor by a substantial margin.
I own both consoles. Got the Xb1 pretty low cost. However, for multi-plats I definitely play on PS4. I prefer the PS4 having used both but don't dislike Xb1.
I think Phil Spencer is certainly trying not to P'off consumers who chose the PS4 console already as he would sure like to convert them to also be X1 owners.
@jmainegaming I also have both consoles so never need to really chose. However, I will say without a doubt that for multi-plats I choose PS4 every time.
I agree that XBox exclusivity hurts RoTR. Fallout is a beloved franchise. It would have beat RoTR regardless. RoTR may turn out to be good but the hype for Fallout 4 is off the charts comparatively. I own an X1, PS4, and gaming OC. I will be playing Fallout 4 first on 10 November. All other titles come later.
It's a question. Sure. But IMO Fallout 4 will be a big seller in November and onward compared to Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Can it? Yes. Will it sell more copies? No.
I play one EA game at the moment. I feel no need to pay EA a subscription fee to pay a game. I could care less that EA access is not offered on PS4.
Perhaps Sony will just offer a 1 or 2 TB console for the same price and drop price on 512 GB units? I love my PS4 but really am in need to upgrade the HDD. 512GB is not nearly enough room. I'l like a 2TB or higher if I can find the drive.
I am confident MGS will probably be a good game. Just saying that the notion that they "Managed to get their hands on" is a bit disingenuous. And yes I have played multiple MGS titles. It's surely just guerrilla marketing hype. That's how it works today.
Yea I am sure their goal is not strictly to surpass Sony. That may never happen. However, their market position being weaker does put MS at a bit of a disadvantage with 3rd parties and Indies to some degree. I own both consoles. For multi-plats I buy on the PS4. I prefer my PS4 but I still like the X1 as well. I am fortunate to have both consoles and a PC. Frankly a competitive market is good for all of us who enjoy gaming.
Well I think the title would still get some marketing hype from Square to be sure. I just think it gets more prominence than it would have otherwise due to MS timed exclusivity. MS admittedly had no exclusive answer to Uncharted so they really felt the need to acquire some sort of exclusivity even if just for a year. I'll just be curious if this lives up to the billing. It may be a bit overshadowed on launch day is all.
I wonder if this were a not a timed exclusive, this game would not necessarily be getting such frequent 'press' coverage. MS is marketing this game heavily directly and indirectly. Building the hype so it appears to be an even match with Uncharted. Perhaps it'll be a great game. We will see. I am fortunate to have PS4, X1, and PC. So for me come November it's Fallout 4 on PC. I'll probably wait for the PS4 version of this game next year and opt for the Nathan Drake Col...
"NDTV Managed to get their hands on"... Of course, it's called marketing. Konami enlisted NDTV's help in pre-launch hype. No surprise there and of course NDTV is going to say it could be one of the best. That is part of how the hype works. Regardless, I do hope the game is as good as billed. I'll probably wait for some early reviews and watch some online streams to determine if I will buy. Signs are good but till it's actually released I will be in wait and see mode....
Seems @Walterwjr is spot on. Lots of ppl eating their words.
I have to agree with OP. Too much time worrying about which is better. I actually own both PS4 and X1. I prefer the PS4 but also enjoy the X1. The competition is good for gamers. Makes all companies work for our hard earned money.
As much as I want to read this article I will not. Want to keep as much a surprise as possible.
