@blackblades,
Lol, that's me, I'm good for another 3 or 4 years, the price increase isn't an issue for me, in fact, that's a problem for future me.
I actually wonder if Sony trying to compete with Game Pass is partially responsible for the price increase? I'm sure inflation would have increased it marginally anyway, but adding those extra games to Extra/Deluxe may be the lion's share of the price increase.
Aren't they adding in the Sony/Bravia streaming services for the higher tiers? I guess that kinda helps, I'm still sticking with essential though (I think I have 3 or 4 years worth saved up).
Fine for me, must be you.
I love that this is happening, there's some wonderful stuff, like the first 2 Sakura Taisen games (2 is still mid-translation), Bulk Slash, ect...
That's pretty cool, but I don't think I have my Sega Saturn any more, or at least I can't find it.
It's Sakurai, I think you need to learn your game developers better, in fact, he has a whole Youtube channel dedicated to game design. I think he knows a thing or two about what makes a good game.
They would look okay with a resolution bump, HD texture packs would just be gravy on old games like this (the modders will probably take care of that.
@1nsomniac,
It's a bit poor to say you can pick these individual games up in a bargain bin, some of that content you just can't buy, or you'd pay a leg and an arm for it (thanks retro scalpers). I'm just waiting for a price drop, it'll probably have a decent one in a few months.
I'd take $60 Aussie dollars, $88 is a little too much, even for the amount of content they're giving us (why is it $30 per game? PS Classics are about $15 on PSN).
I avoid subscriptions where possible, but I can also drop quite a few of them as most aren't giving me the value I pay for. It's bull crap when you need a subscription for software like Photoshop, Microsoft Office, ect... It's the reason I haven't upgraded Clip Studio, I bought it already, I'm not paying for a subscription version.
I feel like it's a little bit of inflation, but a lot of profiteering as well, I also feel like that profiteering is feeding to inflation and making it worse as well.
I wonder what happened to that Fantasian PC rumor, I hope that's still in the works, I'm not buying Apple Arcade just for that.
Most 4090's are hovering at the $3000 to $3200 price point, they've actually come down in price.
By the time I got to this article, it does indeed sound like it's only for initial set-up, little annoying, but far from a deal breaker, it's kinda hard to play modern games and not have an internet connection anyway.
I actually can't think of an Xbox game tbh, unless we're counting previous generations, then I'd like Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon, everything else is pretty much on PC.
@jjb1981,
Fanboy? You wish, I haven't cared about the franchise that much since FFX, I made this account many years ago, your straw man holds no weight here. As for A Realm Reborn, I don't remember any major performance issues when I played the Starter's edition, you might like hyperbole too much. Good luck finding your MMO with Crysis/Cyberpunk-tier graphics, they're no going to waste development time and money on graphics when they can spend it on content ...
Kind of annoyed that the first Star Ocean first Depature wasn't on PC, I bought it on PS4, but I would have preferred it on PC, I think I might buy Star Ocean Second Story R not long after it releases.
Oh god, the windows phone, my sister had one of those and it was awful, I don't know how a software company like Microsoft can be lacking so many vital features in a operating system.
I was going to say Redfall, but then I re-read your initially comment and see that you already mentioned it.
