It's always hard to get a hold of Square Enix's limited editions (I really wanted the World of Final Fantasy's), they never seem to supply enough to my country. I'll probably pass and just get the vanilla edition, not that this collector's edition was that unique or impressive to me.

Well as long as it's not a cash grab which it very well could be.

I always considered "Normal" to be the way developers intended you to play the game, although some developers outright tell you that they intend for you to play on harder difficulties during press releases and interviews.

True, but some older games were unfairly hard for various reasons, we seemed to have gone the other way at some point (I still prefer health pickups over health regen in shooters).

I think Persona 5 is a good recent example, it still has challenges but it's easier than Persona 3 or 4 by a good margin, some people really struggle with it though. Some games like Nier Automata can get hard because Yoko Taro doesn't always do good game design (the ball centipede thing ...

I agree, things were relatively civil until the 360/ps3 generation onwards, I still don't like the trash talk on online games these days (I was enjoying Titanfall 2 until those kinds of people started to show up). Unfortunately the online experience isn't always as fun as couch multiplayer was (I really miss those days).

Now people will scream fanboy or call you "no gamer" if you don't enjoy or point out flaws in their console/game of choice, personal...

@Zeref,

I think there was less risks in older generations since they didn't need holly wood budgets to produce AAA games. There's more technology and bigger budgets involved these days so it's a bigger risk with each title, plus developers tend to focus on safer choices now, instead of splashing the cash and trying more new and innovative stuff that might fail. There's a reason there are so many loved classics and hated failures in the past.

Sure it is, I've owned a slew of SEGA (Genesis, Saturn) and Nintendo (SNES, 64, Wii, Gameboy) consoles growing up (I even found an old Atari going through my parents stuff and wouldn't let them throw it out, it's a historic piece now). At the moment I main PC, PS4, 3DS, Vita and I want to add a Switch into the mix at some point but I'll wait to see how it goes before I plonked my money down.

I love video games so I tend to enjoy criticizing the various game...

And then there's me, everyone who asks me what my phone is, just looks at me like "WTF is a Nexus 6P?". I always preferred stock Android anyway, I can't deal with all the extra stuff some manufactures put on top of it.

It was an ok game, I didn't invest much time in it though, maybe they can do more if they make a sequel.

I agree on all those sub services, I already have the majority on my TV or Blu-ray player, don't need to add them to my console or PC but their there.

Is this why Steam has so many rubbish, throw away games? Possibly (it's one of the reasons I hate scrolling through Steam, have to browse so much shovel ware to find new good stuff).

That was actually a pretty badly done list, at least they had enough to sense to highlight it had backwards compatibility.

They look very similar to me, crackdown seems to have more detail on buildings though.

What 4K tv doesn't have HDR these days (are we looking at Big W or Aldi TVs?)? I didn't think they'd ever make HDR for 1080p sets though, most manufactures are trying to push people into buying 4k tvs, so I would think it'd make less sense to include HDR on HD TVs. Most content doesn't have HDR unless you have a 4k Blu-ray player or console that supports it (I don't know where streaming fits into this, but I assume it doesn't have HDR yet).

I still think it's a bit of a waste not pairing it with a 4k TV, but lots of people pair the Pro with a HD TV anyway. Good 4k TVs are still over $2000 in Australia and it's not worth cheeping out on the TV.

I honestly thought down-sampling would be a give in with XoneX, I'd be more shocked if it wasn't included.

@DevilOgreFish,

TBH, FFVII remake worries because Square-Enix, they've been very hit and miss over the last half a dozen or so years (I'm really not sure what to expect since it could go either way). As for Shenmue 3, I've barely heard any news on that game so I keep forgetting about it until someone brings it up again. Hopefully they both turn out well.

With most games I just can't stop at 15 minutes, I end up losing track of time.

At one stage, we considered adding a Wii to the lunch room at work, but the idea got nixed along with alot of other, more viable ideas (we just ended up with a TV, which is ok, but Australian TV networks...).

@OoglyBoogly,

God, that shows how petty and desperate people can be, I wouldn't think it'd be worth the effort but a small hardcore group obviously does (where do you even get the time to pull that crap).

I would prefer he leave the scenes in and let the game be controversial, I like that kind of thing.

I don't blame him for being numb to the story by that point, they really didn't have much buildup or foreshadowing and it made the ending all the weaker for it. Sadly it felt like the meat of the plot was only just starting to ramp up by that point (Ardyn's connection to the royal family, what he did, what happened to him, Bahmut warning Notics what he had to do and what the cost would be, ect...) and then the ending happened. The more exciting parts for me was when your going thr...
