That's more beneficial to PC owners than Xbox, so I have less reason to purchase it now since I own a high end PC.
As I see it, there are many issues this late into the gen that it's impossible to close that gap, Sony may lose some sales due to people opting for XoneX versions of multiplats but not enough to gut their sales.

It's probably pointless asking, but how did you come to the conclusion that they discontinue the PRO?
True, just a bit of smart marketing and hit the X1X at it's weakest points like price and games library should be enough to really sell the PROs. They could do a price drop, but it's hard to say whether they need to do it.
Yep, Sony have it locked in this gen, I honestly can't see any reason for them to panic.
I'm really not excited for it, so I don't really have expectations for it, I even forget it exists.
Well, they have to include HDR at some point, it's one of the big selling points for 4k.

I want to get it for PS4, I also want to get Adventures of Mana, but buying memory cards for the Vita is ridiculously expensive (I don't really want to get it on my phone).
Competition is great, keeps everybody fair and honest.
Personally, I'm picking up Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash and Gundam versus (I'll get Ys and Danganronpa later), i'll also get Mary Skelter on the Vita (I'm also getting Culdcept Revolt on 3DS). I'll patiently hold back on Destiny 2 just to see if it's more worthwhile then the previous game.

You actually mentioned PC first. As for the games, you just have to check multiple game release charts. Also surround sound headphones tend to be terrible, your better off with a good pair of stereo headphones if you're worried about sound quality and immersion.
I always wanted to get the physical but the disc is hard to get or it's really expensive now, I might have to cave and get it digitally.
I wish I had held out for the PRO, I'm not double dipping or trading in now at this point despite getting a 4k tv just now.
I fail to see your point, I'm pretty sure you can get Dolby Atmos on PC too, just like a console, you'd have to probably run it through an AV receiver. Next year isn't looking good for Xbox either game-wise.
Why remake the original? You can just add a few enhancements like higher res textures and call it a day and it'll still look fantastic.
Everytime I state that HDR is a 4K TV feature I get down voted, but HDR is pretty fantastic, unfortunately native 4k won't be standard till next gen or the gen after.

Microsoft did well last gen, they're doing terribly this gen for obvious reasons, atm I think the XoneX's biggest hurdle might be the price but apparently it's selling well on the pre-order front. So I guess it leaves their one long standing issue of not having many exclusive games compared to the other two console choices.
The Vita was a pretty great machine (except for the memory cards), really wish Sony had tried harder on that one.
I think it helps that Sony learnt from it's mistakes last gen, they obviously didn't want to repeat them this time.
