After playing Horizon Dawn from beginning to end, it's graphically impressive, it's hard to believe that game runs so well on a vanilla PS4 (although I can pick out some things I don't like like the draw distance, but comprises obviously had to be made to maintain those high quality graphics).
@moldybread
Horizon Dawn would clearly be the more graphically intensive of the two games, I'm pretty confident you could run Sea of Thieves on a potato if you wanted to. As for completion, I'm pretty sure most people couldn't complete either game in one sitting, personally I would burn out on either one, but Horizon Dawn would hold my attention significantly better then Sea of Thieves, in my case, SofT would get bore pretty damn quickly for me and I'd drop ...
Anyone with knowledge in technology or computer hardware knew the XoneX wasn't going to run native 4k on the vast majority of games, high end PCs struggle with it, so no surprise the Xone would. Regardless of weather we're talking about the PRO or XoneX, they both use some sort of up scaling to get 4k resolution on most games. If anything, the up scaling may look better on the XoneX. It's hard to say how significant the difference would be without having the same games on each con...
Personally, I think the worst thing about PUBG is that it's heavily optimized, so it runs like crap on everyone's system. I think they're getting a bit full of themselves thinking they've made the genre and kicking up a stink with Fortnight.
If it's one thing I respect about Nintendo is they dare to take risks which may or may not payoff for them. In hindsight, the Wii was brilliant, cheap, fun and sold like hotcakes, Nintendo really made bank on that one, the 3DS was another good example. Unfortunately, the WiiU fell flat on it's face.
Look, as much as I like the Switch, it has it's flaws and it's only just started out pretty much. In good faith, I can only accept that the PS4 had the best performance this gen, don't forget how badly the WiiU did (it actually did worse than the Xone, despite the fact I think it had better games overall).
Two console manufacturers having their worst gen by far vs Sony who have had an outstanding gen comparable to the PS2 era. Anyone who says differently about ...
@UltraNova/Seniya
Linus does have some balls though, look at his video for Intel's equivalent of AMD's Threadripper, I don't think he'd stake his reputation lying about a cable for a little dosh.
Those enhancements do do wonders for an old game though.
The PC is getting pretty bad for sub-par ports, I'm generally finding consoles being best for alot of multi-plats now, even when I was going to initially buy the PC version.
I really love my games and this gen is pretty great, but I would hate for it to go the all digital route like PC (despite the fact I like the premium feel of PC gaming), as long as good single-player games keep getting pumped out, I'm golden. But I agree that gaming as a service and an all digital future is the direction we're sadly heading down.
We've had some great single player games in the last couple of years, it's more the "we can finish it later" attitude that worries me (see games like FFXV), I think alot of game developers want the successor of Overwatch's service model and are just falling flat (although I can see why that model is appealing to developers). Personally I purchase very few multiplayer games, some of them like Star Wars Battle Front and Destiny (the first games of both) seem a bit half-bak...
If he didn't already review this cable I'd say it was all BS, so I'm completely shocked this thing actually works.
I'm very much okay with 2020, that's a good life span for the PS4, as for the games library, I'd prefer the PS5 be backwards compatible with the PS4, I'm always afraid I can't replace my old consoles when they finally do break from old age.
Stop the all digital only releases on PC, or even have GOG become dominant over Steam, I miss physicals and don't care for Steam (I prefer GOG's service but the game selection is poorer).
This month and last month were fantastic, I'm looking forward to October.
God, I hope not, I don't even like Steam, I just tolerate it since it has the monopoly on PC gaming.
I feel like we should do a MGS reference here "Console War has changed"... It never really changes, things just get different.
*Clap Clap* these are Sony's issues in a nutshell with the Vita.
The problem is Halo's quality declined and Destiny's went up with the improvements in the latest game, despite that, I don't consider Destiny a Halo killer, the developers are just favoring it over Halo at this point in time (I still feel that Destiny doesn't quite compete in the same space as Halo).
I have to agree people give Steam a free pass for some reason, I never really liked the service but just tolerated it, I think as they got bigger, quality control just went out of the window. If only another good service like GOG became more popular and gave them some strong competition.
