They really deserve after all their hard work though, they have crazy big ambitions for their games but they make it work and they do it right (see Witcher 3 DLC).
Square-Enix is not a good example, that company has had tons of issues since FFX, I do really love Bravely Default and World of Final Fantasy, but they're a very hit and miss company now. I suspect they have deep rooted issues with leadership and development process compared to their PSone days.
If I compare FFXV to Person 5, it's pretty clear who made good use of the develop time and who didn't (I don't want to hear excuses for FFXV, I know most of them alr...
True, both are needed for a thriving industry, Splatoon had an interesting twist on a tried and true formula and I appreciate it for that.
I'd probably quite gaming if Japan has a whole left the industry, it would be pretty bland industry/hobby (rarely would I find something unique), and the PS3 generation wasn't exactly the best when they had the wrong mindset about development. Now that most developers have had a return to form we're having one of the best generations (or at least PS4 and possibly, even the Switch are).
@Darx,
And another downvote for wishful thinking.
You mean to say Japan has been less relevant when everyone attempted to westernize right?
Thank god, the PS3 generation was awful when the Japanese kept trying to westernize games, it just never worked out for them or the gamers, doesn't help that the media kept perpetuating the mantra "Japanese games need to change to stay relevant".
It was a pretty bad time for everyone involved.
PUBG is woefully under optimized, I'm more curious to see how it runs on xbox when it runs terrible on most pcs. Although the game does sell like hotcakes for some reason.
Suffer the fate of Titanfall2? That has no chance of happening, if it fails, it fails on it's own merits, not because it's release was wedged between two other games in the same genre that are more popular and have a bigger fanbase. There's nothing on the release charts that would have killed it this year (Agents of Mayhem is the only game it would have to be remotely worried about). I can't see PUBG killing off Crackdown 3 considering they are different genres and appeal to d...
Was genuinely interested but you save me a click and 5mins of my life, I was expecting something more fantastical but oh well.
@Death,
I'm pretty sure I've bought almost half of the P4's exclusives, then again, I also buy the exclusives on PC/3DS/Vita when I'm interested. Normally I have enough money saved for the games I want, but there are some months where the PS just snows me under and I end up waiting 3 or so months for those games to drop (some games never seem to drop in price much though e.g. 3DS games, some PS4 games). I'm sure I'm not the only one that factors excl...
@alb1899,
To be fair, 4k TV prices are only starting to get reasonable now that average consumers can consider purchasing them, and considering how expensive a new TV is, it's a purchase you don't want to screw up by going "oh crap, I didn't get hdr or dolby vision or hdmi 2.0, ect...." On top of that, 4k content is still in it's infancy, I'm still displeased with the amount of 4k blu-rays I have to choose from. Most of them are too expensive o...
@Rainslacker,
And that's the question people should be raking Microsoft over hot coals for.
Why pick their console when you can pick another, get all their games and some you couldn't anywhere else? I just can't fit an xbox into my gaming library when I already have a 360 for the older games, my PC/PS4 takes care of most newer/exclusive titles and I'm probably going to add a Switch in the future.
That was awful to watch, any game review should be better than a casual at the very least. If you can't play games reasonably well then you can't understand the gameplay mechanics and how it all ties together.
I was shocked enough to go and skip ahead but watching him struggle with the tutorial for more than 2mins drove me nuts.
@MegamanXXX
Unlikely given their track record, but we'll see. I'm glad they'll keep the AM4 socket for such a long time, I may be tempted to upgrade my CPU if there's a significant enough jump in performance.
Good thing I didn't buy Resident Evil 7 yet, I'll just wait for the Gold Edition now.
The PS one days were the days were they really pumped out the games, it's during the PS3/PS4 days where they really slowed down. We only got 3 FF13 games last gen because they had left over assets they didn't use and re-used the assets they could for the remaining two.
I don't mind them milking the series, it's when the quality of the series drops that I have issues with it.
@Bolimekurac,
Personally I'm not buying this or Knack 2 and possibly not even God of War, at least they're not desperate for exclusive games, I'm sure this appeals to someone or there are at least some fans of the shows around.
The saltiness is strong with you.
I have fond memories of FFVII, it was my first FF and I played it as a kid, I got so engrossed in the characters and world, all the fan theories and everything.
