It's not really unlimited, you still have a cap, mine is 500gb on my "unlimited" plan.
I'm pretty sure this was their initial plan when they announced the Xone.
I thought it was Metal Gear related at first, then I read the headline...
Alot of those games have questionable quality to begin with, poor sales or controversy, or they just took so long to fix where they got to an acceptable level. I'm happy that I can play alot of great games from my childhood though.
I'd be pissed if they took Sega, that would give me enough reason to purchase an xbox assuming they don't damage the quality of the various series involved (It's cheaper for me if I only have to buy a few essential handhelds and consoles). Crytek is a former shell of themselves, their engine is the best part of the company at the moment.
With all these options available to them, I see time being the critical flaw, any decision they go with now won't kick in fully until a couple or few years later. So they really need to do something now or they'll have nothing new until the next gen. They hurt themselves by being too "safe".
@EDMIX,
That could be franchise fatigue kicking in, Microsoft really likes to rely on 3 or 4 long, well-established IPs they do have, although I think that leads to those franchises becoming mediocre or worn out after frequent releases. I can imagine the developers themselves aren't too happy to keep pumping out essentially the same games over and over (think Kojima and the Metal Gear series) with little creative freedom to pursue new ideas.
I think ...
True, Microsoft has some good studios on board that they're not making worthwhile use of, or they're just pumping out mediocre sequels to long established IPs (Halo, Gears, ect...). Buying developers are a long term fix, but it'll take a while to kick in and get a new game out at this point. Microsoft have been too lazy this gen and it's going to take alot of time and hardwork to get back to where they were during the 360 gen.
If that was the intention then I think peaked is the wrong term to use, I'm pretty sure they haven't reached their saturation point yet (I'd give it another 2 or so years). If Sony was smart, they'd wait till they can't squeeze much more out of PS4 sales and then announce a new Playstation. But they can still drop the price once or twice if they get desperate, although I don't see any reason why that would be necessary at this point in time. as far as I can tell, they&...
I have to agree, Microsoft's initial announcement was such a bad deal for gamers, hence the back pedalling and why less people bought the console early in its life span. As it should be, it's called voting with your feet/wallets.
I just never finish half my handheld games for some reason.
PS2 was where I first played the series, never really got into it, probably because I didn't have good enough internet for it and was too young to appreciate the series at the time.
I just feel that Worlds has become a gateway entry by making it easier for new players to jump into the series, plus Nintendo consoles/handhelds have been it's home for such a long time, being on other consoles probably helps alot.
I think people think there is still some other secret sauce they can come up that can make up for not having what the product was designed to do. Play games.
Considering the number of games that Sony and Nintendo make bank on, gamepass would be a fantastic deal for the consumer but screw those 2 companies over. Especially Nintendo since they keep their software and hardware prices high for so long.
@atticus_finch,
I'd believe that of sea of thieves and maybe Crackdown, but state of decay looks like a AAA title going be the trailers and game play videos (no one ever seems to talk about the game though).
Well, people can always cancel the subscription or so I assume. I don't see why they can't if they jack up the prices or don't like the games on offer or just don't see the value in the service. As it stands the price is pretty good as is.
@pubg,
I thought you were going well until the last paragraph, all that's happened is that Sony is the dominant console this gen, whereas last gen the tables were turned and Xbox was dominate (does anyone remember what it was like then?). When people invest in a console they can't help but defend their purchase, and this gen, significantly more people purchased a Playstation over an Xbox or a WiiU. Although I do strongly agree that the discussion around the industry...
There have been betas I've played which caused me not to buy the game, but your right, they're designed to get people hyped for a game. Just wish demo's were more common, you don't see them very often any more.
People have surprisingly short memories...
