I would rather a case that's half the size of current Switch cases, it just takes up too much room, and I can't put as many games on my shelf. I'm going to assume the bigger cases are some sort of cost saving measure, rather than having to pay extra for more unusual sizes.
As cool as those cardboard boxes were, I'd never want to go back to that, I'd even prefer steel cases and I hate steel cases.
This, Nintendo does so well because they have exclusives you can't play anywhere else, it's also one of the reasons that the PS5 and it's lack of exclusives is so lacklustre this gen.
I also use my Steam Deck OLED to play PS4 games, it works stupidly well.
I heard the same, it's barely an improvement over the 4080, what a joke, but trust Nivida to gimp it's own cards to convince you to buy the more expensive ones in the stack.
I think this direct got leaked earlier than that, I swear I heard people talking about it last week. I'll be looking forward to it anyway.
I hate that crap so much, for me today, its at the point where I second guess making those game purchases those on PC
I already bought High on Life on PC, but I guess I'll enjoy Pac-Man on/off when I feel like it.
They spend a lot acquiring COD, which people bought/played on PS anyway, then you have to keep acquiring games to feed the GP monster, then you look at the state of AAA games lately and whether people want to actually play them. Plus, Xbox hasn't released many must play exclusives, and not many people are interested in their hardware (except for those that buy all the limited edition consoles and controllers for some reason).
Also doesn't help that we have a cost of...
Playstation isn't doing very well this gen, but Xbox is well and truly halfway in the grave, people in glass houses throwing stones or something.
I can't see a difference, at best I can see that PC has a slightly better draw distance, and maybe better resolution, maybe, the difference is so minimal I'm not sure if I'm even seeing that.
Maybe it can have a PC release too if it's coming to Playstation.
$109 Aussie dollars, argh, that's a little painful, but I really enjoyed the last two Doom games.
It's not like they're super consistent with the gameplay in modern Doom games, I remember trying to play Eternal like 2016 at first and just getting steam rolled by enemies. Some people also found Eternal too overwhelming and hard, even though I finished it and the DLC, I would agree that the game can get very overwhelming at times.
It looks like they do have the Glory Kill system in some capacity, looking at this video, it's not as gory as the other games, but...
I'm waiting to see if they do a 5080 super with extra VRAM, which they probably will, I'm also the type to keep PC parts for 5 years plus at a time, even the GPU. So I wouldn't want to change it out anytime soon unless there was a significant leap in tech.
The game didn't seem to have a good team of coders anyway, I watched reviews of it, and the game seemed very rough around the edges. Maybe if it had a competent developer behind it, but I suspect it would have been a very different game if they did.
Handheld PCs are pretty expensive, maybe people are choosing Laptops for the added value of productivity? Technically, you could do that on a handheld PC, but a Laptop is less fuss if you want productivity with some light gaming on the side.
I'm pretty happy with my Steam Deck though, I don't have very many complaints.
The majority of games work though, even the ones that aren't Steam Deck verified, I haven't had many that refuse to start or have significant issues during game play. The Steam Deck even plays some games that my PC refuses to even start because they're older games that aren't supported on Windows 10/11.
I've already seen several people try to spin this, some are in such denial, they don't want to listen to the evidence.
Try to wait for a year until they make a 5080 Super, if you can't wait, try to get a 4080 Super instead.
