the skins this time around are great. Skelzor is awesome, as is The Dead Explorer.

Doughnut Drake is probably my favorite because they actually alter his voice to make it deeper and a little slower. it's hilarious.

what makes it even funnier is that throughout the game, the floor around Drake is constantly collapsing, so playing as Doughnut Drake makes those scenes that much funnier.

i'm about to begin my third playthrough later today (i'm going to tackl...

than Tomb Raider when i play Uncharted.

the tone of a Tomb Raider game and an Uncharted game are VERY different, but the platforming elements in Uncharted feel 100% like the Prince of Persia games of the last 10 years.

the only reason why people compare it to Tomb Raider is because it's the easy comparison. they are in the same "Indiana Jones" pulp adventure genre, so it's easy to make a broad generalization about the game.

but if you actually ...

devs are getting more respect these days.

despite games like Ratchet, Sly, and Jak, Insomniac, Sucker Punch, and Naughty Dog were ALWAYS overshadowed by the media i favor of the Capcoms, Konamis, and Square-Enixes, even back in the PS2 era.

it's good to see them finally getting the respect they deserve.

they are truly developers that love the art of making video games, and while they are certainly a business, and are trying to make a living, they don't l...

but the way they've implemented community features and online features were most certainly one of the things Naughty Dog took from them.

Bungie has always done a great job of making online accessible to console gamers, and with a generally user friendly UI.

how DARE he buy a game for a rival system!

it's expressly written in his contract that he is only allowed to purchase Microsoft products. games, movies, shirts, pants, underwear, toothbrushes!

i'm starting a petition like, right now!

anyway, this isn't news. contrary to popular belief, most people in the industry aren't raging fanboys.

PR is PR. it's their job to try and sell their product and pretend the competing product doesn't exist whil...

but the review system is broken.

due to the complete carelessness in which game reviewers threw out 10/10 scores at the start of the generation, when they were "Amazed" by such Xbox 360 launch titles as Perfect Dark Zero, Call of Duty 2, and King Kong, slapping 9/10, 10/10 scores on them, the review curve has been skewed.

NOW that some reviewers have gotten their heads out of their asses (or moved on to jobs at their favorite game developers), they are star...

me and my wife love to play games together, but everything is online only these days. we pretty much only play Little Big Planet and Resistance 2 together, and PSN games that have local co-op (like Burn Zombie Burn).

there's absolutely no way i'm going to start buying two copies of every game just so me and my wife can play together.

i still have to get her her own HDTV and PS3.

touts DD, everyone loves it: "I can download games and movies and music to my 360! yay!"

but the moment Sony does it, it's bad: "PSPGo is anti-consumer! you can't keep, give away, sell, or trade in what you download! boo!"

hypocrites.

like i've been saying since this generation began, Digital Distribution will certainly find a place, but it will NEVER replace hard copies. there are too many factors that make it becoming the standard f...

those little bastards are hidden in some great places.

my first playthrough, i found about 53 or so of the treasures.

i'm about 3/4th of the way through my second playthrough, and i have about 70 of the treasures.

you REALLY have to search every nook and cranny of the levels. there are usually some hidden ledges you can climb on if you look around, especially in the Borneo jungle.

also, look UP, there are often treasures on ceilings or statu...

there ARE footprints in the snow, and footprint trails when Nathan walks.

they are persistent and stay for a LONG time until snow eventually covers them up again.

how anyone can say that there are no footprints in the snow is baffling to me.

did review copies not have it maybe? were they an older build?

i have had the retail game since Friday, so i don't know.

anyway, this game is brilliant, i'm about 3/4 of the way through my s...

reviews are pointless.

the reviewer rated the game a 5/10 based off it's VALUE, not it's quality.

personally, i agree that $60 for what comes in the box is a 5/10 value.

BUT, i wouldn't score the actual GAMEPLAY of the game a 5/10.

it's Halo, so it will have that Halo feel, at the least, an 8/10 or 8.5/10, as the Halo type feel is showing it's age in more than just the game engine.

reviewers this generation have got their priori...

saying "This is the killer app the PS3 has been waiting for" EVERY. SINGLE. TIME there is a big exclusive out.

they said it for MGS4, they said it for LBP, they said it for Killzone 2. some even said it for inFAMOUS, and now they're saying it for Uncharted 2.

look, the Playstation is NOT the Xbox. it's success isn't hinged on the wide appeal of just ONE game or franchise.

i bought my PS3 for

Resistance

but at the time it was very enjoyable. i really liked running around leaping from building to building.

problem was, after i cleared out all of the gangs, i didn't have anything to do.

i think inFAMOUS is way better than Crackdown, but not because Crackdown wasn't fun.

it was mindless fun, but fun nonetheless.

i may seriously consider selling my Xbox 360.

i bought an Xbox 360 for these games:

Mass Effect
Fable 2

Fable 2 was a big disappointment (i enjoyed it, don't get me wrong, but i think the first one did a lot of things better than the second. if i could somehow meld the two, i'd be happy).

Alan Wake interests me, as does Fable 3 and Crackdown 2, but i can always play those on my friends 360.

i usually don't sell consoles, b...

anyway, i just beat it last night, and holy crap is it brilliant. the last section is absolutely breathtaking. this game is doing things that other games can only do concept art about.

i'm playing through it a second time on Hard, messing with the character skins i bought.

eventually i'll tackle Crushing after i unlock it, but i'm having flashback of Crushing on Uncharted 1, and i'm not liking the thought.

anyway, just like UC1, i can see myself playing ...

deciding factor when reviewing my games.

i loved Shadow Complex, but was it original? anyone who's played the Metroid games in the past 20 years will disagree. the game is still fun (and also stars Nolan North, so maybe i have a Nolan North bias, because i loved the Prince of Persia game also, which he voiced).

Uncharted 2 has some original concepts, but that still doesn't detract from how much FUN the game is.

in either case, Uncharted 2 improved upon i...

and i have to disagree with it having a lack of originality.

yes, the story and themes are familiar, it's a sequel after all, but the tweaks that Naughty Dog have done to gameplay and presentation are beyond ANYTHING out on consoles at the moment.

it's up there with MGS4 when it comes to blending gameplay and cinematic seamlessly.

i'm at chapter 16 right now i believe, and my jaw has been on the floor the entire time.

outside of that first boss (tutorial boss).

at the most, i'll die from two hits, depending on the enemy.

the first things i upgraded were my dexterity, hp, and my armor.

you just can't rush into battle in that game. you can't even rush through the levels.

the game is slow and methodical. if someone snuck up behind you, it's because you were sloppy. end of.

it's not like Doom 3, where enemies just spawn behind you every few minut...

i'm not a Forza fan by any means, but to slap a 7/10 score on it is an obvious cry for hits.

first Uncharted 2's 8/10, and now Forza 3's 7/10.

just because Forza doesn't match GT in terms of attention to detail, doesn't make it a bad racing game in any way.

i'm willing to ignore Turn 10's stupid hyperbole for the moment just to point out that this review is silly, and gamereactor are just begging for hits with their "controversial" review score...
