if i could pinch your cheeks i would!
i disagree that Halo: Reach is the biggest 360 game this year. personally, i think Mass Effect 2 easily eclipses it in all aspects.
HOWEVER, Halo has always been a quality series, despite me dropping off after part 1 (i played part 2 and 3, but i just didn't dig them like the first one).
i guess it's impossible for anyone to be a fan of the PS3, and yet still respect and enjoy the Xbox 360.
my favorite g...
back at E3 2009, certain 360 fanboys were hating on God of War 3 and it's visuals, despite it being more than 8 months from completion. PS3 fans tried to say that it wasn't a completed product, and they were dismissed and ridiculed.
turnabout is fair play, i say.
Halo: Reach is in Pre-Alpha, a good 6-8 months from release, and while the graphics are looking way better than Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, it's not indicative of the finished product, and it still has months o...
me and the wife are moving in a few days, and i need every scrap of cash i have for the move.
after the move, i'm getting White Knight Chronicles, then Heavy Rain, then God of War 3.
once i have those, i'll see about getting Mass Effect 2 on my 360(it'll also give me time to finally beat the first one).
you know, it's not a rule that you have to go out and buy the game on day one. sometimes circumstances make it impossible for you to pick it up day one. ...
i don't mind paying $4.99 for some character skins from 3 of the best games on the PS3 for the BEST game on the PS3, Uncharted 2.
i understand the sentiment behind people not wanting to pay for "just skins," but come on, that sh*t DOES require artists to texture it, and playtesting to make sure it functions as intended (ie, no graphical morphing or memory leaks). $4.99 isn't asking for much, especially when i can buy a value meal at a fast food joint for more, and that ...
where was this refusal to pay $60 for a game earlier in this generation, when companies like EA, Microsoft, and Activision tried to convince us that $60 was worth it because of Xbox 1.5 games like Perfect Dark Zero, Madden, Call of Duty 2 and 3, etc?
now, we're getting games that are genuinely pushing envelopes and taking console gaming to places we never dreamed of (Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 visuals, MAG's massive step in online MP with 256 players), and NOW you wanna stand fir...
why? because i just don't want to talk to most of you assholes (the assholes on my friends list excepted, of course).
i usually only use my mic when it's absolutely, positively vital to do so (like Survival in Uncharted 2), or when i'm playing with friends/family.
both LIVE and the PSN have their fair share of retards. LIVE is more popular, has been around longer, and has a larger userbase than the PSN, so it's not unreasonable to think that there would be a larger n...
12+ hours to beat first play through.
God of War 1 took me about 10.
since he said GoW3 is longer than the first two, i'm guessing it'll take me a little over 12 hours to beat it first play through.
considering that the first thing i did when i beat God of War 1 and God of War 2 was play them again, i don't see a 10+ hour playthrough a bad thing.
this antagonism against single player games is getting out of hand. not all of us want to play o...
it sucks that all these games are coming out when me and my wife are in the middle of moving, therefore funds are bit low.
bothered to read my comment all the way through. it wasn't intended to be stupendously long, but there you go.
i think i've exhausted myself on this topic, and said everything i could possibly want to say about this generation in general, honestly. it's been a nasty gen in terms of fanboyism and the gaming media's part in fanboyism, but what it all boils down to in the end are the games, and advancing the industry, and not just for X company's bottom line.
i don't ca...
i don't see any other console FPS hosting 256 players, so yeah, i'd be rather surprised if we see another game of that type anytime soon.
the thing that grinds my gears is that Sony tends to do some risky things in the gaming world (EyeToy, HDMI, Blu Ray, Heavy Rain, MAG, The Last Guardian), and they get sh*t for it until it manages to prove the doubters wrong (like people expecting Killzone 2 to be all graphics and no game play, or Uncharted 2 MP to be mediocre, bullet point on ...
Sony has an insane amount of momentum for the first HALF of 2010 due to it's strong software.
a new gadget like the motion controller is better suited for a year end release to carry further "excitement" from the consumers as the holiday season approaches.
the strategy is like, "So guys and gals, did you think that God of War 3, Heavy Rain, Mod Nation Racers, MAG, White Knight Chronicles, Yakuza 3, and 3D Dot Game Heroes were great! well, we're not fin...
my 60gig BC PS3. i get 3 generations of software in one box. priceless.
i don't play many PS1 and PS2 games on my PS3, but when i do, it's games like Castlevania: SOTN, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, some of the best of their respective generations.
and i'm most certainly more into my PS3 than my 360, but this game is looking really good.
it's nice to see a 360 game not hamstrung by the aging Unreal Engine 3.
and Reach looks markedly better than Halo 3, in particular the character models.
yes, game play is what matters most, but like film and comic books, games are a visual medium as well, and when the visuals are on a top level, it just adds to the game play experience.
i mean, the gam...
i guess they don't realize that Sony has 38 first and second party developers making games for the PS3, and only 5 of them are releasing in the first 3 months of the year.
lol. and this is how misinformation is spread. we've yet to see what the other 33 studios Sony has under their belt are working on.
useful and informative in a review?
the actual TEXT of the review. you know, the part of the review where the writer tells us useful things things like what the game is about, notable game play features, and his/her reasons for liking or disliking a game.
the score at the bottom of a review is ultimately worthless, and totally subjective and arbitrary.
for example, the game Second Sight from Free Radical, was moderately received, scoring in the 7/10s fro...
GamePro spends an entire year or so hyping the hell out of those games, then puts them on a list of games that are "over-hyped." hypocrite article is hypocritical.
god, GamePro is so full of fail these days, and i used to read them religiously back in the day.
games aren't allowed to be what they are.
Haze wasn't a Halo Killer when it went exclusive to the PS3, so what was a relatively decent, if average FPS was trashed to high heaven.
Dante's Inferno isn't on the same level as God of War 3, and i guarantee it's going to meet harsher than necessary criticism for it.
i just picked up Darksiders this weekend, and while i get some of the similarities to Zelda on a structural level (that is, the explore, dungeon, ...
i don't like Gabe Newell because of how he unprofessionally sh*t-talked the PS3 at every opportunity, not because he wouldn't develop for it.
it would be hypocritical of me to get upset at Gabe for not developing games for the PS3, and not be upset about, say, Insomniac, or Quantic Dream not developing games for the Xbox 360.
i found his comments: "Sony should just apologize to consumers and developers, and say, 'we're sorry for trying to get you to buy this, an...
but how a lot of the games they put on the list they sh*t on when they were first released, perpetuating the meme that the PS3 had no games.
games like Warhawk, Resistance: FOM, Ratchet ("wah, it's more of teh same!!! hey, Modern Warfare 2 is AWESOME!!"), Valkyria Chronicles (while it was critically received, it was conveniently ignored when people were downplaying the PS3's library), Killzone 2 (yeah, the graphics made us all look like idiots for constantly harping abo...
the 360 has games that make you swap discs. that's just the way it is, and there's not we can do about it but accept it and move on. there's really no point in whining about it.
and swapping discs to move to a different game is different from swapping discs to play the same game.
man, i haven't had to swap a disc when playing the same game since the PS1 generation.
i think ME2 will be the first game out of my 360 games where i've had to swap discs (i onl...
