i'm actually kind of interested in this one. at the very least, i'll rent it and check it out.
those scans aren't the best, but you can clearly see the graphical improvement over Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST.
i don't care about the colors on the suits. from the Reach teaser trailer, i was actually a little disappointed at the muted color palette, because Halo is known for it's brighter sci fi look, and i found it a little ironic that Bungie would go the "gray and bro...
it was not a first or second party title, and it was developed as a multi-platform title before being released ONLY on the Playstation 3.
it was only roughly 6 months before release, when the Xbox 360 version was shelved, more than likely due to some deal with Sony.
nice try though. Ubisoft was to blame for the quality of Haze, not Sony.
also, Haze only failed in one respect: the execution of the story. the concept was sound (stories about characters lea...
i agree with your post 100%!
i remember back when the SNES and Genesis were out, the Genesis versions of games were generally not on par with the SNES version (like Flashback and Street Fighter 2), but the reviewers of the time didn't say, "buy the SNES version because it's superior!"
they usually noted the graphical difference, but followed through by saying it didn't take away from the game play in any way that would keep you from enjoying the game.

i find it funny how people meh'd derisively at the trailer shown way back when at E3, saying the game didn't look that impressive.
even when the DEMO looked better than any current action/adventure game on the market, they still smirked and jeered.
of course, now that we are starting to see CURRENT builds (not builds 6-12 months old like the E3 demo), people are embarrassed YET AGAIN by a Playstation 3 exclusive that has exceeded graphical expectations.

it's not bad in the least, but it's certainly not this phenomenal action experience that the gaming media sees fit to make it out to be.
but then again, i'm not a big fan of DMC, and this game feels very much so like DMC.
i think it appeals to a certain audience, and i certainly didn't see any issues with the PS3 version that made me say, "man, this is a TERRIBLE port of the game! PS3 only owners should run out and buy a 360 so they can play this game!"
the majority of Wii titles are mediocre shovelware.
that's simply the truth.
there are a few third party exceptions like Zack and Wiki and Rayman Raving Rabbids, but most publishers treat the Wii as the gimmick that it is, while Nintendo capitalizes on the nostalgia factor of it's long time franchises like Mario, Zelda, and Metroid.
from a business perspective, what Nintendo has done with the Wii is INCREDIBLE.
from a gamer perspective like ...
that doesn't look so hot.
i really loved the first Crackdown, and it was one of the first Xbox 360 games i ever completed. it was a lot of fun.
i'm looking forward to the sequel, but it worries me when franchises switch dev teams.
remember DMC2? it wasn't developed by the DMC1 team, and it's the worst in the series.
i'm willing to give Crackdown 2 more time, because i enjoyed the first one so much. hopefully Ruffian can pull it together by i...
end of story. it wasn't a dramatic decision fraught with peril and intrigue.
i played my 360 and PSP to pass the time until my PS3 came back a week or two later.
i swear, some people LOVE to make mountains out of mole hills.
i'm kidding. that's great news for Naughty Dog.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was so underappreciated when it came out, it's great to see Uncharted 2 get the love it deserves.
hands down, it is the best game i've played this generation, and i've played some AMAZING games this gen, on both the 360 and the PS3.
i think, as far as this generation goes so far, Uncharted 2 is the game that defines where this generation is going.
i think that Gears o...
it's too soon after the second. a mid to late 2011 release sounds more reasonable (i doubt they'll release Killzone in the early part of the year ever again considering how snubbed Killzone 2 was in various GOTY awards last year).
i totally see Resistance 3 hitting this fall, after all, it's been 2 years since the last one, and Sony could end 2010 with a bang (no pun intended) by having a quality FPS title on the market for the holidays.
i see inFAMOUS 2 being announ...
i wasn't sure about the number, because it's been a while since i last checked, but i new it was over 45 million (which is why i added the plus), but since i didn't know the exact current number, i used the last number i heard.
in either case, it doesn't change the fact that the PSP is a success, and it would be STOOPID for Sony to abandon the platform. it's just IGN trolling for hits.
i finally beat Demon's Souls about two weeks or so ago, and i've pretty much been ...
for the record, that's more than the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.
why the flying F*CK would you abandon that market?
not every one of those 45+ million consumers are software pirates.
i think one of the main issues with the PSP is the price of the games. $30-$40 is just too much for a handheld game to cost.
for $30-$40, i could buy a PS3 Greatest Hits title, or buy a used HD game or two.
i love games like Crisis Core and Chai...
how you do a cliffhanger ending.
you got resolution with Part 2's plot (Kratos and his journey to alter his fate), and yet it completely blew the doors open for part 3).
i didn't feel like the end of the game was cut off just to make a part 3.
most cliffhanger endings are like, "yeah, we chopped off this last part so we can stretch this franchise out across 3 more games!"
i would definitely put God of War 2 up there in a list of th...
i got a gift certificate to my local game store for Christmas, so i used it to preorder Heavy Rain and White Knight Chronicles.
the chick told me that WKC was slated for February 2nd, and Heavy Rain for February 16th.
i can't wait for either. i downloaded the Japanese trailer for the game, as well as the "special presentation" video that's 9 minutes long on the PS Network, and it really got me even more pumped for the game.
i love unique experi...

way to go mods.
the truth is we've yet to see a single Xbox 360 game match Uncharted 1, let alone God of War 3.
if the 360, after 4+ years on the market and easier to develop for architecture has yet to best a first generation Playstation 3 title in terms of graphics (that'd be Un...
i have my preferences, but i go where the games are, and if games like Uncharted, Killzone 2, MGS4, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Heavy Rain, The Last Guardian, etc were Xbox 360 exclusives, i'd be all over it.
the reason why people like me chose the Playstation 3 is exactly because of games like the ones i listed above. Sony has spent the last 15 years building up a strong 1st and 2nd party stable of developers, and the strong franchises that go with them.

graphically stunning game because of Uncharted 2?
don't get me wrong, i think Uncharted 2 is in the running for the best looking game this generation thus far (along with Killzone 2), but i don't think people have played MGS4 recently.
yes, the game is old, but it's far from dated.
outside of Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2, there isn't a single game released on any console, let alone the PS3, that comes knee high to the visual presentation of MGS4.

titles, but i thought that was a given, considering that 99% of the exclusives on the PS3 are 1st and 2nd party developed, barring MGS4 and Haze.
anyway, my point still stands.
as for Haze disappointing many people? people were disappointed because the moment it was revealed that Haze was not multi-platform, the gaming media suddenly thrust it up on a pedestal and it was then the FPS game that was going to "Kill Halo" and single handedly "justify"...
