If Phil said so it must be true! Like that every xbox one will be 3x more powerful with cloud! They both buy hardware from AMD and AMD will only have whatever gen gpu they are on. Obviously MS is not going to with their flagship desktop gpu because it's too expensive, uses too much power, etc. So unless Microsoft waits another year or two than they will have similar hardware.

Putting games on every device is fine, but what kind of quality games do you expect will come of this. If they have to make it work on cellphones, than they will have to simplify the controls. The quality of their games is already pretty low and it will get worse if they start making games with all devices in mind.

Microsoft doesn't give numbers because SONY killed them this gen. They would always boast about their numbers when they won npd and even right at the start of the gen they gave console sales, but getting outsold 3-1 now console sales don't matter? Yeah right
They are directly competing. Like you said, most everyone you know owns a ps4 or xbox one. There's no need to buy both because they are similar systems. Their target audience is the same.
When the ps2 launched, broadband internet was not available to most people. The ps2 slim had a built in ethernet port (cable and dsl were available then) But socom released in august 2002 and had online play (xbox live launched in nov 2002)
Microsoft also did a similar test. It was during the 360 era.

Xbox is not very big in pc gaming. You can play a lot more than just xbox games on pc. (ex:League of Legends has more users than xbox live) You also don't have to pay to play on xbox live on pc.
Nvidia does not have their own semiconductor fab. They use TSMC. If Microsoft wanted smaller chipsets, why would nvidia pay when the xbox gpu was not part of any of their products. The RSX in the ps3 was 90nm, then shrunk to 65nm, and 40nm. Sony had no problem getting their chip shrunk. Ms discontinued the xbox so they launch the 360 early because they knew it was pointless going against to ps2
yeah xbox is making money from royalties from 3rd party games selling on xbox. They don't get anything on pc unless it's bought from the xbox store, but 3rd parties have their own digital stores. From the most played games on xbox, forza horizon 4 is the highest at 14. They have 1 game in the top 25 games played on xbox, so they care if games are bought on xbox
Or you can turn down the settings if you have to run 4k. It's not like the consoles will be running on ultra.
Amazon and Google are Microsoft's competition in cloud services, which is Microsoft's main money maker now. I think the target audience for xbox is different, or was. Google sells games sure, but cellphone games and console games don't really compete with each other. But xbox seems to be getting a lot of these low budget indy cellphone games so maybe they are going after the cellphone games market

It mostly cell phone type games or old games made available to download.
Also 1080p tv's were standard since the ps3 and 360 were out. The xbox one not being able to do 1080p was a big fail.
ps2 games had better animation. The player isn't even fazed by all the lasers? he was taking. Getting shot non stop but he just walks through it like nothing. So yeah the gameplay looks terrible. It auto aims for you and you don't have to worry about being shot, Seems a little too easy.
It's just a digital store. How exactly is it going to make pc gaming better? There already is plenty of stores you can buy games from if you don't like steam.
MMO stands for massively multiplayer online, so you won't find any that are offline single player. You can play solo if you want though
Isn't freesync for smoothing out low framerates? If you are getting higher fps the your monitor's freesync range, I hear that some people cap their fps if it goes past the monitors.

I think Microsoft makes more money from selling more consoles than selling their games on windows. They get 3rd party fees on games and xbox live subs. Games like COD, Madden, 2k nba sell millions every year, but has any game MS released on pc recently sold even 1 million? Pc gamers actually petitioned to have games not be released on GFLW ( I don't think they ever did for any other service)
