try explaining that to these XB fanboys, and they'll swear up and down that you're full of it and that these consoles just couldn't handle the tasks. in reality, it is the XB1 that couldn't handle the tasks and thus the PS4 version was dumbed down and given a lame excuse.
what i don't understand is the FACTS clearly show that the PS4 is more capable than the XB1 and easier to program for. if you have two different systems runni...
@bloodvorb
So agree. They were able to pull this off last gen
@ the author
is it a big deal if you pour about a $1000 into a PC rig just to have a developer(s) tell you "screw that, we're going to target the power of the consoles so that everything remains equal" ?
my point is, if everything is bound by lazy developers shooting for parity, what is the point of choice and innovation?
I could not have said it any better. i have been saying this from the start. people seem to have a brain relapse every single time Sony launches a new console. they always start off with a small selection, and after about a year and onward, they start blowing the doors off.
yeah, the author is a true moron. he barely understands these two systems himself, it seem. yet he tries to validate his reasons on complete obvious points. that's like looking at a blue sky and telling everyone its blue. what about everything else?
....and please. like i've said many times before, the DualShock 4 completely annihilates the XB1 controller TECHNICALLY. this isn't even a contest. but all he points out is a dang Tpad. like really?

you don't need kinect for VR or the Move/DualShock 4 to have 1:1 tracking - something kinect lacks. so then, what GOOD reason is there that consumers should pay $180 for one? tack VR onto it and it'll become extremely expensive.
I look at bang for buck, and this here has always been the number one turnoff:
"The Xbox One’s Play and Charge Kit costs $25. The Xbox One’s Stereo Headset Adapter costs an Additional $25. There’s no getting around it – today the PS4’s DualShock 4 controller still puts the Xbox One controller to shame."
this doesn't even include everything else like gyro, accelerometer, and a touch pad all for about the same price as the competition.
@ jcnba28
No, because they are already being beaten badly by the popular guy, and they need a way to have the people cheering for the popular guy to also notice them. its kinda like being at a concert with a celebrity and u at the entrance trying desperately to sell a CD u made.
Now, if they were so confindent in themselves like you seem to propose, they would have had a better ansewer to combating this ip rather than a 'hey! look at me too' ad for th...
ok, let get this straight.... the studio that MS USED to own made one of the most notorious, exclusive shooters of its time on the platform, which made the console popular. the studio leaves MS and goes multiplatform with another shooter.
fast forward and MS find themselves continuously falling behind their most formidable competitor, and to make matters worse, their talented, life saving studio that they no longer own has given their formidable competitor EXCLUSIVE MAPS fro...
I told you it was coming. Who wants to go back and grab that quote of mine? Sony is a competitor you should never underestimate. Whenever they launch a platform, it is usually the first year that has the drought. After that, they come at you like a hail storm, and those that mock them in the beginning are usually the ones trading in their other system once it starts to occur.
This is just the beginning. Wait until these guys really start flexing their first and second party ...
@ come_bom
let you folks tell it, Sony has no money and bad credit. how ironic. which one is it?
also, it is not just this developer that has gone exclusive to them. Sony must be throwing around a lot of green backs by your assumption then. let's not acknowledge the fact that they actually have more units out there all the while kicking the poop out of the competition every place they've gone. that would just make way too much sense. discrediting them...
like i said in the other threaded, i believe MS has just priced themselves out of the VR war with kinect 2 coming in at $150.
with Sony's console selling @ $400 and the camera @ $40 to $60 puts the console @ $440 to $460 WITH a standard Move-like controller (DualShock 4). add VR and that total goes up.
if MS expects to have any relevant answer to Oculus and Morpheus, they may need a similar set up, meaning the camera may very well have to track this t...
@ OOMagnum
what I am looking at is the PRICE to the consumer. unlike last gen, those same consumers are not so eager to go for motion gaming this time on the kinect. and even with this new kinect, the latency is STILL pretty bad - especially when compared to a light bar. check out kinect sports rivals. and because the camera is not standard, I think it'll be quite difficult to convince the consumer that heart monitoring and night vision is enough to justify the price o...
i know kinect is advance and all, but how ever will they justify the price of this device over the PlayStation Camera at a mere $40 to $60 - especially if they decide to follow Sony into the VR space? what is that....$440 to $460
this kinect is no longer competing with the last gen, 2D PSeye camera. kinect is now competing with a stereo camera (3D) and DualShock 4's standard light bar.
don't get me wrong, kinect 2 is still more advance than this stere...
@ gameon1985
and this is why that console will continue to fight just to be second best rather than the leadership role. Nintendo has been here. Sega has been here. SONY has been here, and they are here again. Microsoft has NEVER been here before - even with the great lead and price advantage they had did they still end up in second or last with every generation they've competed in. i need you to set and ponder why that is.
you seem to think that its all ...
@ edonus
didn't people like yourself say this about the PS2 and PS3 when it launched? (ooooh it has no games)
but once the first year passed, games began to pour in to a point where those same people ended up trading in the other platform(s) because it hadn't ENOUGH, great, exclusive games when compared to Sony's system, and this usually took place with each passing year/age of the consoles.
simply put, the system is currently in...
@ Funantic1
you are so butt hurt.
MS had nothing of a kind. they had it where you had to login with YOUR ACCOUNT on another XB1, and all of your games would pull up there - allowing you to play with family there.
Sony's share play doesn't allow you to login on another PlayStation for family or ANY friend to play your games. you simply send an invite and the link is made. this is how friends are able to join in on your game through T...
3rd party = lowest common denominator
notice all the new features in the DualShock 4, which these guys have yet to truely put to any use. just like VR or even the Wii, a new input can breathe a completely different experience into any game if used correctly regardless of how on "par" you may think any two games are. and that's just the controller, let alone everything else under the hood of the actual console.
we haven't even crossed the fir...
you need kinect.
like i said earlier, the PlayStation 4's hardware clearly surpasses the XB1 (console itself & controller) in specs. only a blind fanboy would oppose this. outside of this and that hill gets even steeper.
these two units are far from identical.
heck, the DualShock 4 alone has a packed-in battery, unboard speaker, accelerometer, gyro, touch pad, 2 analogue motors, and an a head phone jack that completely transfer tv a...
"This is another proof that Compute, and specifically Async Compute is the future of next generation and particularly PlayStation 4, as stated by Sucker Punch and Zombie Studios, while Q-Games is already using it on The Tomorrow Children.
<Many games on PlayStation 4> Xbox One <don’t even use this properly, but they will soon>"
yet, I have been saying this BS the whole time which fanboys seem to forget right away when th...
